I can't believe Titanfall can already be had for five bucks. Between that, Destiny, and Watch Dogs there have been some games out this year that didn't even come close to matching the hype surrounding them.
On the plus side, Alien: Isolation was a winner, Far Cry 4 looks fun and Dragon Age: Inquisition is freakin' golden.

Also, I liked Watch Dogs although I wasn't expecting it to be life altering either.

If you can't bend and scrape and jump through every hoop that anybody with a Steam key in hand might require of you to save every penny you can, you may as well go join the console peasantry.
ya know, that kinda sounds a bit ironic/contradictory, doesn't it? if ya don't wanna save money, be a peasant. or maybe i just drank too much leftover wine from Thanksgiving.

Far Cry 4 looks fun
Far Cry 4 IS fun. I broke a promise to myself and got it for One so I could play the co-op with a friend and we had a blast, literally. The main missions are incompatible, but everything else can be done with a buddy. We played for a good 7 hours straight before realizing it was 4 in the morning and we both had work in the next few hours. But those fucking eagles, man. What a pain in the ass they are.

I've been reading that the PC version has strange performance issues via AMD and/or Nvidia.

Did you link to the wrong article? That's about PS4 performance and not XBONE or PC performance.
Yes, yes I did. Fixed now.

"In theory, there's no problem whatsoever running Far Cry 4 on high settings and achieving a 1080p30 presentation on hardware as lowly as a sub-£100 GeForce GTX 750 Ti. In fact, the game even includes a 30fps lock tweakable (the 'sparse' v-sync option) though this introduces frame-pacing issues - using the frame-rate limiter in Riva Tuner Statistics Server is the better option. Scaling up, a GTX 760 handles ultra settings at 30fps well enough, while GTX 780 and higher should in theory give you 60fps in most scenarios with most settings at their max. Combined with the image quality improvements, Far Cry 4 should trounce the console versions - even with the omission of HRAA. Unfortunately, the game is plagued with stuttering issues that have a clear impact on the gameplay experience."

"Even with a GTX 980 in play, we still see frame-rate drops as we move around the landscape - with 50ms stutter commonplace. It's particularly bad when driving vehicles, suggesting a background streaming issue. We wondered if this was a VRAM issue, but swapping in a 6GB GTX Titan made no difference whatsoever. For those wondering, AMD graphics cards are similarly affected."

I guess I'll play it on PS4 then.

Edit: Amazon has Call of Duty Ghosts for 9.95. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003O6CB6S/ref=gb1h_tit_m-4_6602_f3327b92?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

It's a boxed DVD copy which comes with a steam key of course. Maybe some of you are interested?

I saw this posted on Destructoid and thought I'd share it here.

There is a Daily Advent Calender of Indies at this adress.

http://advent-of-indies.com/2014/index.php

Each day will be a freebie and a chance to win a free game with this first day being a free soundtrack for Endless Legend and a chance to win Dungeon of the Endless. It looks like it runs on Euro time so first days offering only has 11 more hours left.

Crab Cakes Rescue is "free" @ IndieGala Store (Page 4)

But you need to add something to cart. Real Horror Stories is $0.25.

PS. Indie Gala Store sucks!

I was really hoping that the DLCs would be on sale Friday or today. :wall:
Mass Effect DLCs on sale?

nicolascageconfusedemotions.gif

Mass Effect series is one of the few where I think it's cheapest to own it on console because the DLC actually goes on sale on occasion
Even cheaper if you got Omega for free on PSN's little glitch thingy.

I have to admit:  I'm just not one to play DLC for any game.  Typically once I get done with a vanilla game, I'm ready to move on to something else.  Maybe my attention span just sucks.  The only game I remember putting significant time into DLC was Borderlands 2.

I'll buy Game of the Year editions of games when they are cheap, like Skyrim, but it is just so rare that actually play DLC.

I don't always play dlc either, but for games I really like I'm all about it. Skyrim is an example...I'm a sucker for those Bethesda open world games so I've played all the dlc in Skyrim, Oblivion, and FO3, and plan on completing the dlc for Morrowind and New Vegas in future playthroughs. The Borderlands games are another example where I always play the dlc. Really, for Mass Effect some of the dlc has some of the most interesting missions (Shadow Broker) or has some important plot elements involved (Leviathan). The dlc for ME is more essential than many franchises, making the lack of sales on it all the more annoying.

Okay I was holding out on Shadowruns for a bundle but 90% off seems like such a good deal.

Now that I've bought it'll undoubtedly be in the next dollar tier of a humble bundle.

Ok so now today's deals are tempting me. Wasteland 2 has been on my wish list for a long time, rpg maker seems like something fun to mess around with, and roller coaster tycoon 3 has been on my wish list forever also.

The other sales for GMG's Blue Monday are a little weak, but this one is pretty good:

With 20% off coupon code YEHWO3-8WN62G-KZ7AVT, it comes out $6.00.

For those with Playfire credit, wait until the VIP page changes over, it should be around the same price.
I must admit the VIP thing is making Playfire Credit worth something. I'm thinking about Strider and Murdered for $12 in credit, for example. Now if only they'd give out more than a dime per game on titles I don't have/

Same here. I'm worse because I'll buy a game, really like it, buy the Season Pass and then never go back to it once the DLC is released. Metro: Last Light and Bioshock Infinite are two great examples of this. Once I complete the vanilla game and get a little distance from it, that's usually it. I only wind up playing the DLC if I have it for my first play through.

Does anyone know how many keys there are in this pack? I've said before that I only need the two Toejam & Earl games, but the package would be a lot more attractive if I knew I could give away the other 46 games.

I had an email come through from Bundle Stars to find the Easter Egg on page for a special discount.  I didn't think about trying to stack codes until writing this out.  However, when you find the egg it links you to a Space Invaders-like browser game.  Complete the level and you get a code for 28% off your purchase (BONUS28 - not sure if you'd need to play to use) and will be exhausted @ 1000 uses.

I'm not sure what the quality is like, but I went for the EuroTruck 2 $9.99 bundle as it has both ETs and much of the Big Rigs bundle.  I also picked up the Trainz Mega Bundle as I've not purchased any of these before (kept being Brett Favre and missed lots of prior bundles).

$10.06 / £6.39  final cost.

From back when I bought it, it was one key per ten-game collection (four), one key per Toe Jam game (two), and one key per Sonic game (six keys). 12 keys total.
