F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

Remember that you may have no-rush shipping credits expiring tonight.  No idea if there's a way to check though since more recent ones expire in March.

Another block of free apps. This time Kingdom Rush Frontiers (amazing tower defense) and Might & Magic Clash of Heroes headlines it. Actually a lot of good stuff: Thomas Was Alone, Republique, Riptide GP2, Table Top Racing.

I also recommend LYNE really good indie puzzle game that you can just relax to.

It's on Amazon to clean up their act in my opinion. They need to post at least semi-accurate descriptions for these things and the CS reps need to be made aware.
There's over a million items on Amazon. You're telling me the CS reps need to be in the know on every single item that passes through the door? Get the fuck out of here.

Well when the Customer Service Rep leads Customers to believe the description is correct...maybe?

I actually specifically double checked with Amazon BEFORE this order shipped. They believed that it was factory sealed like a new item. The CS rep then voluntarily offered me the discount. No reason to be snarky.

Most of the CAGs who frequent this thread know what Amazon Warehouse means by factory sealed. to expect average users to know "Factory sealed" = Not Sony/MS/Nintendo factory, but by our own warehouse factory; seems unfair to blame them.

Knowing what Amazon WH really means in their descriptions, and then asking for credit$ is a different game..

Um... Yes, because that's their business. To call something "factory sealed" when Amazon is clearly not the factory is epically stupid.

Got my "Good" PS4 GTA V bundle that was supposedly "Factory Sealed" and it absolutely WAS NOT. Re-sealed by Amazon and didn't include any games. Going to see if customer support can help me out at all and if not, I'll send it right back.

Edit: Got a $70 refund. Considering the system itself looks brand new and I had no intention of keeping either game, a new PS4 for ~$265 works for me.
Getting a big refund from Amazon isn't going to impress a lot of people in this thread. In my opinion, the refund was not worth the mark on your account, especially since you took a risk and bought a used console with a generic description.

Also, a bunch of us got a PS4 for around $220-260last spring, and then traded it in to Gamestop for a brand new PS4 at no extra cost ;)

Of all the stuff I bought from AWD, the only thing that really was brand new was Star Ocean: Till The End of Time. Everything else was a trade-in or return. I won't expect anything more if I buy that Ys Silver Edition...

Btw, I can't seem to get past that stupid part in SO 3 where you steer this weird creature on rails...

Anything that has 'Time' or 'Eternity' is always going to be brand new...everyone knows that :)

Didn't I tell you how epically awesome Lymle is in SO4?

I don't remember the part of SO3 you are talking about. Where are you at and I'll see if I have a save with a half hour or so of there.

Managed to get two Glacier White Gold Headsets from AWD. Hopefully one comes complete, this will make up for not being able to get one through all that target madness.

plz no missing dongle!

You've obviously never worked retail. It's literally impossible to know the status of every single item (especially if it's open box/returned) in their warehouses. The CS rep is basically there to be damage control, not as an inventory specialist. Also considering there are several warehouses full of items, again, literally impossible.

However, I do agree that the description should not read "factory sealed" but instead "factory re-sealed" or something of the sort.

When you go to one area I think it was copper mines for the mega laser cannon you have to ride a giant buffalo type creature and steer it past the falling rocks and junk. It was a pain.

Buying an item marked as "Good" and expecting it to be brand new is probably just as idiotic if not more.

buying anything off AWD and expecting it to be new for any reason is idiotic even amazon would agree with that based on this from the FAQ:

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?

Amazon Warehouse Deals is a part of Amazon.com that specializes in offering great deals on returned, warehouse-damaged, used, or refurbished products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com rigorous standards as "new."

Yes but this is the internet, where unfortunately idiots rule

Is that where you are being pulled in the cart?

Yeah that was a pain in the ass if I remember correctly.

I thought reading was optional in life!

Also on the internet, everyone is a real Timmy Toughnuts or Billy Badass.
Those names are very sexist. It assumes that only men can be tough, and that's degrading to women. In the future, please be sure to include female counterparts in the discussion, such as Tina Toughtits and Barbara Badbooty.

I knew a girl named Billie Jo, and she was tough as shit. She could also out drink any man I ever knew.

That's it. From wandering around I think I need to break a wall of rocks...if Only I can freakin' figure out which wall that is...

Ah, yes....good old common sense. Thanks. No, really; I actually have no sarcasm to generate from these posts.

I feel like there is nothing but sarcasm there :/
Maybe I'm just being a little too emotional about it? If so, sorry

I realize it's probably not new, which is why I specifically asked CS. They should know better but the rep didn't even hesitate to state it was brand new and likely had a damaged box.

This is 100% on Amazon. They need a better QC/description system since it is such a massive operation.

yea just like gamestop employees really know the different between NEW & New (Gutted Game). Reps and stores employees are just hired help who follow a script always take what they say with a grain of salt no matter which retailer you dealing with and make your own decisions based on info you have yourself not what a rep tells you.

i agree with you. you should consider filing a report with the better business bureau. it is bait and switch. if need be, hire pepsiman's father, who is a lawyer to represent you in a civil lawsuit case. that will def sent amazon a message.

Then Amazon should have different processes and training in place. I don't feel bad when I benefit from their mistakes.

Lol I'm not complaining here but I don't understand why people who benefit get vilified.
they are just green with envy, and jealous of you. paid them no mind. you are upstanding member of this community, standing up for the little guys, against the big evil multimillion corporations like amazon. we need more people like you in this society. i support you , in your fight for just cause.

it been awhile since pepsiman been in here at least a couple of months lol wonder what happened to his monthly appearances

It's on Amazon to clean up their act in my opinion. They need to post at least semi-accurate descriptions for these things and the CS reps need to be made aware.
I went through my orders in 2014 and I had to complain on 85% of them and received credit each time. Sometimes I even complain when the item comes in better condition than expected because that's still a lie (for example, they said Mario Kart 8 would have a medium bend on the cover and it doesn't so I complained and received a $10 credit).

If they don't give me credit I just keep complaining until I get a rep that does. It works every time and Amazon doesn't care because they're more concerned about a happy customer than making a few bucks.

Not sure why everyone on this forum makes such a big deal about it. When I post on SlickDeals they don't care, in fact that's where I got the idea to begin with.

I complain about AWD whenever Time and Eternity isn't available to buy.

I get a credit every time and use it towards a new copy of the game.

Your state's Attorney General can assist you with this as well. Just file a Consumer Protection Act claim and they will investigate it, and make it right for you. They are like the Better Business Bureau on steroids. You can also file a claim in the state that the item was located before it shipped and in the state of their corporate office. It's a very easy process really, just go to the website, print out the forms, have them notorized, and send them Registered Mail (overnight preferred) to the Attorney Generals in each state.

They don't fuck around with that bait and switch stuff. Pepsiman's father would probably be able to help get a class action lawsuit filed against them for that and for everyone else they have wronged.

Pepsiman's father is also cheap to hire. You guys are forgetting that. Not only is he a good lawyer, he doesn't cost you an arm and a leg for his services.
