Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Brothers has beautiful art and a highly moving story. I beat it in 3 hours or so one day last year and only needed to go back to get 1 achievement. It was free via PS Plus later on in 2014, so I'll probably play through a second time on that console eventually.

New Xbox Rewards offers.  A survey in back to back months.

Some love / family / friend themed missions for the month - buy or rent $20 worth of HD movies with "love" in the title for 2,000 credits ($2), spend $40 on E-rated games and DLC for 4,000 credits ($4) and get 2,000 credits ($2) for playing 20 hours of any multiplayer games on :xb1: or :360:.  (Whether that's 20 hours of multiplayer, or just 20 hours of games that have multiplayer isn't clear, go ask their forums, I doubt anyone here will know until it's been answered there.)

Credits for nagging referring friends to buy an XB1, 25k ($25) for the first, 10k ($10) for subsequent ones.  Friends who buy a system also get 25k credits ($25).

Thanks New England. So glad I chose ya'll in my coin ups on MUT15 to win this game, got 10,000 coins for choosing them. Also get 30,000 for choosing them before the poffs started to make the SB in the AFC, and get 15,000 from the Hawks in the NFC for making at least making the SB. I think the Hawks were called for the first penalty so another 5,000 coins there. 60,000 free coins, love coin ups.

Have you played Brothers on another platform? It could be a loss for you if you just pass on it. One of the best gaming experiences I had last year.
Not played it on another platform, just have no interest in actually playing it. Did my research on it so not saying I don't want to play it blindly, just nothing I've seen about it makes me think I'll like it.

Only coin up I lost on the Super Bowl was the team that won the coin toss didn't win the game (why would you pass?????) lol. Going to be sitting on 80,000 coins. Really want the TOTY Von Miller.

The light on my controller is on but Le 'Bone won't turn on and the light on the system isn't coming on.  :???:

Edit- Now on the like fifteenth try it works?

I liked "and the only football coach to win a Superbowl for an opposing team by ordering a pass at the half-yard line with less than a minute of play on the clock."
Agreed thats down right dumb but it comes down to Wilson, doesnt it - donno how it works. but someone edited the post the minute the game ended? Sad life some people have...

Luriden's guide to console vs PC insanity:

1) Buy Mass Effect 1 on Steam. Play through it. Love every minute of it including the DLC. Buy the others.

2) Realize the DLC is insanely priced on 2 and 3. Miss earning achievements on 360. Miss laying back with a controller as opposed to a mouse and keyboard (PC is hooked up to a TV so I have to use a laptop lap table). Want cheaper DLC thanks to Microsoft sales. Despise the idea of using Origin for ME3. Buy the 360 trilogy box set.

3) Start playing the first one only to see how disgusting the framerate, jagged edges and constant loading in the Citadel are. Feel exhausted by the fact that you have to play the first one all over again and make the same choices to have a similar save file to what you had on PC when you just want to jump straight into ME2, but at least you're earning cheevos. But pros outweight cons. Miss the pretty PC version. Sell 360 set.

4) See the DLC go on sale shortly afterward on Xbox Live, while you're in a cheevo-earning mood anyway. Contemplate buying the set again on 360 while the DLC is still on sale.

Only coin up I lost on the Super Bowl was the team that won the coin toss didn't win the game (why would you pass?????) lol. Going to be sitting on 80,000 coins. Really want the TOTY Von Miller.
Aww man he is nice, I'm rocking with 92 ovr fantasy Von right now and TOTY Elvis on the other side. So pissed because I had the hit a 50+ field goal coin up too, so many close times but they kept converting :( I think that was like at least 40,000 coins. Oh well haha. Also had the return a fumble for a td coin up but I knew that wasn't happening.

The controls on Brothers was fine for me. Mostly, I just kept the brothers on the same side of the screen as their assigned stick. Then again, I can also pat my head and rub my stomach simultaneously and I hear others have difficulty with that.

As to the Seahawks last play, it was a hell of a jump by the NE corner. While not the safest and IMO obvious call, the play should have worked. Wilson put the ball in the right spot. Sometimes you just lose even when you do things right. Congrats Tom Terrific.

The interview with the corner, Malcolm Butler is pretty great. Cool to see when its a really unlikely hero. Undrafted free agent rookie to super bowl hero. Also cool to see Revis so excited

Even on sale the DLC is overpriced. When you can buy the game for $10 or less but the DLC costs nearly twice that amount it's not worth buying, especially if you've already played it on another platform.

Hope this helps.

has anyone played the new bf maps? I was kinda on the fence, was thinking about trading in the game and getting the bf premium edition but the trade in at best buy was only like 5-7 bucks and amazon had it close to 14 and it dropped to 12 over the week but now it shot up to 16.84. Seems like an awesome deal to trade it in for 16.84 and pay 24 to get the game digitally and all the maps.

Just wanted to let people know, 16.84 seems awesome for bf4, I think I only paid 13-15 for it brand new on sale so that's anther plus.

Brothers is fantastic.

When I played the demo, my older kids (all of them teens) all completely stopped what they were doing to watch it and talk about it.  They put down their phones and tablets, and din't run back off to their rooms to do something else.  That's NOT a small thing, the game is just so nice to look at and it just sucks you right into its world.

I found absolutely NOTHING confusing about the two-stick controls and to be quite blunt given the control complexity of many other games I see people talking about on here regularly if Brothers' controls are just *too much* for you I'd seriously question your credentials as a gamer period and you should probably just sell your consoles now.

The game is great.  I was beyond excited to see it was going to be a GWG game, because I'd nearly bit on buying it on sale several times, but thought it was possibly GWG material.

Since we're at the end of the EA sale I'm going to say this to anyone thinking of last minute purchases:  I bit on the sale for NHL 15 and gameplay-wise the game is a nice upgrade from the NHL 11 I was still sticking with.  I don't care much at all about HUT or the online components.  I cannot begin to express my rage though that you cannot select Position Lock from the pregame menus....  or my rage that you cannot use Position Lock AT ALL in Live The Life Mode (which absolutely ruins the mode for me because I have zero interest sitting on the bench and watching computer action).  I always enjoyed playing my own player in Be A Pro and then still controlling the other players at that position when my guy went off the ice.  Basically, my favorite game mode is now ruined and unplayable for me.

So if you're a Position Lock person like some are (and after Googling the issue it appears there are many)... you may want to think twice at least about NHL 15.  Yet another perfectly-fine thing EA screws around with for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

So is BF4 premium worth the..er..premium? I don't play it all that much but the game is already in EA Access. For $24 for the game and DLC that seems like a good deal

I don't know if I can play another 8 hours of #IDARB just for $1 from rewards.

Too crazy.
Just leave it on for one night and you're done. The game is too unprecise and too random for my tastes, got most achievements (damn Kinect cheevos) in an hour or so but I can't really be bothered to play it much. Most goals seem absolutely random, and the variety is very low too. Disappointed, I was looking forward to it.

Being the last day of the sale and all, IS Dragon Age Inquisition worth the sale price if I didn't really care for the other ones? I just need a damn RPG on xbone that isnt diablo -_-

I think it is. You get all those extra maps, weapons, vehicles, and stuff included in the DLCs.

I got all the achievements in 30 minutes lol. There is a single player levels thing, but don't know how fun that will be after a while.

Doesn't the game auto logs you off if it is idled for too long?

If you want a RPG, then yes. Though, I don't know how much you'll enjoy the story since you never cared for the previous ones leading up to it.

Just need to practice more and the goals won't seem random. The aiming is not beginner friendly.

It's totally worth it. I played the previous games a bit, never finished them and honestly could not tell you a single thing about the story for either game. I didn't like the combat of the first one and the second one just seemed boring to me. Inquisition is a lot of fun and very, very addictive. The combat allows you to jump right in a fight while controlling whichever character you want or switching to overhead view and micromanaging all party members. I enjoy the former a lot more but it's nice having the option. Loot kind of sucks. Coming off Diablo you'll be disappointed but by the time you can craft really good stuff, anything you craft will be much better than the best loot anyways. The locations are varied and there's always something to do if you feel like taking a break from quests. If you're an rpg fan, you'll enjoy it.

Edit- I would just get the base game though. The extra stuff is not worth it. I splurged for it and wish I hadnt.

I know how to aim, but playing online I encountered multiple fluke own goals or 5-6 random bounces leading into goals, netting ridiculously high scores (was both the victim and the scorer in these). While getting 15 points or so with a trick shot is fun, not so much when the ball bounces like crazy after you both dash and it goes in from the middle with a 6x with no one calculating that surely. Seems largely unbalanced.

Thanks for the info. I believe ill grab it! Unless there is some crazy deals today

Can't bring myself to get a digital version of Dragon Age, even with all the positive user reviews out there.  I couldn't get into the trial, and it will be an EA Access game at some point.

Ok, Microsoft, check out the Club Nintendo web site.  Now, give us a sale that will make us want to put that much stress on your server infrastructure.

Think of it like a fighting game (or almost any competitive game/sport). You can win against low tier players by just mashing buttons and sometimes getting big combos randomly. If you take the time to learn the game, you can consistently land big combos and win. A common shot I like to use is below (pic from TA). Easier to do with less players or a breakaway when playing with multiple people. Read the defense and take the shot that looks good.

The randomness comes in when you have viewers dropping hashbombs or you turn on auto hashbombs. That gets crazy.

Anybody going to EVO this year? Tickets went on sale today. I've never been, but I might if I can convince some friends to come with. Not a lot of people I know like fighting games.

If Microsoft gave out those deals, there would still be millions of internet people complaining about how those are terrible deals.

Yeah the twin stick thing kinda puts me off it, controlling two characters at once is blech to me, and too it just doesn't look like something I'd really get into playing, free or not. Indie/arcade games don't strike a cord with me in general either. Tried Bastion and Dust and I didn't like them, and this looks kinda in the same vein.
You are making me sad, Brothers is a GREAT game. Yes, the dual-stick controls are really weird at first, but if you just play for a while you get used to it. It's also a pretty short game, so it won't chew up a whole bunch of your time.

Yea i dont see this weeks sales being anywhere near as good as those club nintendo rewards but heres hoping for something good

Wouldnt mind skyrim dlc going on sale, just got back into the game

It will be OK. When we get with our date tonight and she's a bridge troll just close your eyes and pretend it's CN, that pretty mustachioed girl that flirted with you today.

Anyone planning on buying Blue Estate? I read some PS4 reviews and it seems like a delightfully irreverent little title that pissed off a bunch of PC pussy ass social justice warrior reviewers. Ill pick it up just to spite those asshats. Boobs, racism, and fatty bullying FTW.

Someone talk me out of/in to BF4 on Le 'Bone.  Bought it on PC with Premium on day one because BF3 was my jam but I barely played it a month.  Been tempted to buy it all week and I'm not sure why or if I would even like how it controller with a controller.

Okay, here goes. I hate EA. But, for $24 for the game with all of the expansions, the opportunity to stick it to them for over $120 worth of stuff was just to much to pass up. The game plays smooth as butter on the One. I'm glad I snagged it.

I suck at Battlefield but I did enjoy the 100+ hours I put into it. You have to be really fucking good to hang with most guys though, so I gave up.

See me in these Titanfall skreetz tho, bitch!

I was pretty good at BF3 but never really played a shooter long term with a controller. Still have Titanfall as well that I've basically never played.

Just looked at Origin and I must have played BF4 like three or four months (thought it was shorter) since I was still at almost 100 hours and BF3 is around 400 hours.

BF4 is great. Just like BF3 though, you'll need to put in a good amount of time to unlock different guns/attachments to find out which is best for you. Alot of people still play, especially on conquest and rush, but I usually just stick to rush.

completely off topic, but I know there's roosterteeth fans here...Monty Oum passed away.

Clearly not an issue if I get into it.

I guess part of my hesitation is that I don't know if I want to put that sort of time into it again. Or buy it and stick it into my backlog.
