The following thread are for niche-based Japanese video games by smaller companies such as Atlus, NIS America, AKSYS, XSEED, D3 Publisher, KOEI/TECMO, SNK Playmore, Ignition, Natsume or any sweet deals for those who are passionate and hardcore about Japanese video games even from the bigger companies like SquareEnix, Sega, Bandai Namco, etc.

But to avoid any messiness of links everywhere, we'll focus on games within the last 2-3 years as opposed to the last five-ten. [although, if you do see older titles on sale, please post them regardless].

The theme of these deals are Japanese video games distributed in the US by the smaller niche companies. The thread is literally for those who love Japanese games. There will be a few Korean games that you may see on this list, such as the "DJ Max" games.

So when is P5 due out? I am assuming end of the year?

Aka I need to play through P3P and grab P4 on some platform and I need to figure out when to fit it in my upcoming schedule of Xenoblade, Witcher 3, MH4, lol.

2015 in JP and NA.

P4G is univerally acclaimed as the better version of Persona 4, so you should play that one.

meh if you want to get a vita tv for it but unlike 3 the original is pretty good as is. it just makes an already good game even better.

as for that trailer totally calling blonde guy to be gay/on lsd. i'm sorry but there is no way he is not after that rollerskate scene barring he's a kuwabara type plus joke character.

I think I will be ok with only having 4 party members so long as they make those 3 decent enough to function without the mc's persona swap ability. Don't know about the stealth segments but I am definitely not going to love platforming being in especially with that weird camera angle.

Also at school Hostile work environment! sad face that its gonna be another high school crap though as I and many others was hoping they had finally moved to college.

The buddy has been a joke character for the past 2 games, so I wouldn't be surprised that's what he is for this one.

Persona 4 DAN is coming to Japan on June 25, 2015. This is what they are getting. Might import this. I cannot wait any longer. Lol
 
The day where we get Persona with Catherine Graphics has come at last. XD

Looks like Igor has two attendants. Theres the brosuke equivalent, the teddie equivalent, and the lovers arcana quivalent.

I love this game already

The platforming looks really automatic to me. I'm hoping there isn't really a way to "fail" it. If you notice the red gooey blobs on the surfaces as he jumps from one to the other it just looks like an indicator to let you know you can walk across and he'll jump. It seems like the intention is to just make dungeons / exploring less bland and flat.

Somewhat similar with the stealth. It looks so snappy and guided I don't think it'll be a problem. I think they know their strengths.

Yeah, Yosuke was the same character as Junpei. I really hope they do something different this time. That joker character seems to be a common trope in japan. He so funny you just want to kick him down the stairs.

They were more sarcastic/perverted where as teddie is more a joke/mascot character. either way there's a far gap between those 2 and a guy who rollerskates with cats.

i dunno yosuke and junpei don't have much in common other than being dudebros who get harped on by all the other characters and life in general. Yosuke is a klutz at the beginning of the game and is more friendly with the mc. Ignoring his late social link junk he and the mc get along very well. They seemed like real friends to me. Where as junpei and the mc don't have nearly as much interaction and when they do its usually junpei being a brat about not being leader (which was stupid as for all intents and purposes mc is 2nd in command to mitsuru anyway)

Looks like the P5 protagonist's glasses ARE A LIE! lol

Since the game looks so similar to Catherine, I'll probably call the protagonist Vincent. :)

Oh that P5 trailer was awesome...so stylish and the graphics look great. It and P4DAN (if it's anything like the Miku games i'm all in) are easy first day purchases. So much good stuff....also that Final Fantasy XV trailer was OK....it looks fun...but I don't know. Also 15....dang that series has been going on forever (not counting many spinoffs and remakes and such). I do want it....but P5 just looks great....can't compare them at all.

 
Do you guys know if there going to be anymore Persona related news today or is the event already over?

 
P5 makes me want a ps4 like no game before it, but my budget to buy a ps4 is $300 and I don't really want to buy new gen until kingdom hearts and Star Wars battlefront are out lol

I plan on waiting for a special edition PS4 pre-order and doing payments on one through Gamestop or something like that. This was I can feel a little better about shelling out that kind of dough.

 
So, who else going to avoid the forums at all costs once P5 is released in Japan? I just know some billingual asshole is just gonna post a huge spoiler out of nowhere.

 
I really hope there isn't a big time gap between region releases. Even though they are aiming for release dates within the same time period, there can still be some lag. Look at Lightning Returns for example. Released in November for Japan and then it took until February for other regions like North America. 

I wouldn't mind importing if they actually offered English subtitles but we all know only the Chinese version typically does.

3 months isn't actually that bad. Though beign a Vita owner means being very patient for imports. I bet P5 will have less than a couple of months localization time tohught since they're both NA and JP are both out this year and JP dosen't even have a release date yet

Most of the FF PS systems have been kind of ugly IMHO. Somehow I feel FFXV is just going to be an average game. I'd say play the games first and then decide on systems later unless you really want a special edition PS4. I feel a sense of disappointment already from the FF trailers (they're trying to invoke nostalgia when I obviously have none for a bunch of "cool" fashion wearing dudes). Persona 5...and yes I'm an Atlus fanboy just feels cool and hip and neat looking. Just feels like it will be special. Just my opinion of course. The one thing I can say for FFXV is that the graphics look gorgeous. I'm very untrusting of S-E as a company though so your opinion may be different.

The remixe samples aren't bad, but I hope that the original versions can be played in P4DAN as well. Some P3 tracks and maybe even characters would also be great. Though I'm worried they'd hold that for dlc =/

Woohoo, GS goof ftw. Went to buy a copy of HDN:Rebirth 1 so i could keep my LE sealed. It had a sticker for PP on it so it was 15$ and he had to sell for that price
