This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

You're right, the Master Thief edition is a complete waste, better to just get the normal version eventually. There isn't a load of dlc though, just two content ones which are just one level each I believe, and the booster pack DLCs are essentially cheats.

Thanks for the info. I just checked and Block Legend DX also has a Steam key from BaGB 17. I probably just missed the announcement on this one though.

The alternative is the mods deleting 100 unrelated posts to get rid of one or two when it inevitably gets out of hand. It would be better for all if we moderated ourselves.

GG is up there with religion, politics and jiggly anime tits. Just no.

the thing that confuses me about gamersgate is when you click on the on sale link you are brought to a page that shows games that have a discount and games that do not. I would expect them to all be on discount when using that link.

For example

Its kinda like looking at newegg digital downloads!

Unfortunately it is their business whom they give free keys to. They should've worded their offer more selectively to begin with; saying stuff like, We will give keys for the new version to everybody who spent money on DLCs except supporter pack and BUT NOT:
founders version from a bundle, makes them look like ingrates. Oh bundled game devs.

Whatever. I'm with the other lazy CAG hoarders and will wait for this new version to get bundled too.

- DLCs except supporter pack
- ingame purchases
- Early Access Version

BUT NOT:
founders version from a bundle. We are getting swamped by game hoarders who have never played the game and kjust heard that there is a sweet deal. That is not for whom the offer is intended.

Maybe I was wrong or he was wrong, bundle key = early access key. :)

I can confirm that I got my key, but am exactly the kind of game hoarder they are trying to give keys to. This said, I did play the game through the tutorial to generate the log file required to prove I had a "paid" copy of the game.

Having actually played Aerena for a bit way back when it was bundled, it's not very deep as a strategy game, but it is fun for a little while.  It's a grid-based, turn-based wargame where both players have three units and a ship to protect.  Each unit has different abilities, but all the ones I saw were just picking two of range, low charge time, large damage, or knockback.  Killing their units damages the ship, attacking the ship directly damages the ship, and your ship also has a couple of charge-based powers it can use to damage enemy units or the other ship.

I had it in my "uninstalled, but might play again someday" category on Steam.  Now that they've stripped out the microtransactions, I'm looking forward to trying out a few more units and finding out if there's secretly more depth to the game.

At one point he explicitly said the bundle people qualified and even commented something to the effect of Isn't it neat that you got it in a bundle and can still get a free copy of the new version? etc. It should still be up in the Steam forum for the old version.

Then he got more requests than they thought they would and apparently realized most bundle buyers don't play their games and suddenly had a problem with it.

It's not like they are really checking to see who plays and who isn't he's just cutting people off including potentially people who actually do play. Mostly it's just another indie developer telling people to write to them for keys instead of giving them to a bundle site and then getting overwhelmed, so it sounds like the Well you people aren't playing anyway is an excuse to justify it.

They also moved all updates and suuport to this new version. Apparently they heard a bunch of loud complainers saying F2P SUXX and somehow got from that the idea that their game isn't amazingly popular because people hate F2P so hey let's relaunch it as a pay game. Because all non F2P indie mutiplayer games are popular, right?

Yes. You will notice more and more people being repelled away from you. There will also be a slight chance of gaining a crazy bitch girlfriend.

There will be negative side affects however when you suddenly find yourself being followed by mall security and delayed boarding planes.

I don't know.. I have a really hard time believing indie devs can be that stupid sometimes. Aerena was in a $1 Groupees bundle, of course most of the people that bought it will be game hoarders.

To me it sounds like he was playing dumb and intentionally made a it a big fucking hassle to email a log file (which requires you finish the tutorial, so you actually have to play the game to some extent), and link your Steam ID + in-game Aerena name so that people would hesitate emailing them.

I bet he was surprised that so many game hoarders were willing to do all of that to get a free key, especially the ones doing it for resell purposes so he locked that shit down.

No HuniePop, no AVP 2000 nor Carmageddon. fuck ing MACVENTURE COLLECTION. Didn't know it was four games hehe. It's curious though that it was the precise number of games I needed to reach 2000 round number. To 3k!
