Unless I'm reading it wrong, my Gamerscore (is that the green circle icon number?)  is 8,369.

I should get an achievement for having the lowest number of achievements:  564.  

Yeah, I have some serious catching up to do.

Same except for half that GS. We should formulate some sort of metric for GS compared to time and whoever is the lowest wins.

Me: I like to think of it as a direct reflection on how cool I am in real life.
Wife: So slightly average?

I'm glad I brought up this conversation as its been decent in here. It's fun to compare length (of membership) with girth (overall score) against others. Giggity.

So, for those like me who bought the original game and the DLCs will still have to pay the original game's price to get all of that on Xbox One. I'll pass until 5$ zone.

I don't think TA tracks like a "average GS gain per month" or anything, though that would be easy enough to calculate. You can look at your gamerscore gained vs. time as a line graph. And they tabulate some obscure things like the best single-day GS totals you've ever had, the longest streak where you popped at least one achievement per day, and some cool stuff like that.

 
Ryu, I just signed up for TA and put you as the one who referred me. Not sure if that gets you anything but just wanted you to know in case you were to win the 10000th referral award and get $5000 MS Credit or something very probable like that.

Oh brother I do not envy you right now. NCIS might've been worse than the CSI games. The CSI games at least had Morpheus in there so you could make believe that you guys were jumping into the Matrix and fighting agents after solving every case.

You could get all 3 CSIs done in the same month if you haven't already completed them. But get that platinum stuff outta here. :speaktothehand: It's all about the 1000/1000 round these parts.

 
Ok, just got a Kinect for my X1 ( mostly for the kids). Now I wanna do that thing with all the little green lights everywhere like in that paranormal activity movie. How do I do it? I'm not gonna lie, that is the main reason I got it. It's a small price to pay to blow my 2 year old's mind.

Tried putting it in bing and couldn't find out anything. Please tell me it's possible.
 
My gamerscore is presently 39993. I'm about to finish The Walking Dead: Season Two, though, so that's going to go up shortly. At just under four years of owning an Xbox, I'm ok with that score. I wish I hadn't built up a backlog of games for 360. That's when playing started to seem more like a chore, but I only have myself to blame for that one. Hopefully I avoid the same fate this generation.

My gamerscore is 40,863 with 51% completion.  Got my 360 in Feb '08, got an XB1 in December.  Have completed 15 retail games, 8 of which are Lego games I use as "palate cleansers" between more hardcore games.  They're fun enough, and not too tough for 1000/1000 in ~25-35 hours.  Also completed 23 arcade games.  Highest scoring game is 1,900 in Gears 3 (missing Seriously 3.0), highest scoring completed games are 1,750 for Gears 2 and Borderlands.  My score could be higher, but since the GBA first released, I've spent more time gaming on Nintendo handhelds than on consoles connected to TVs.

I'd always been a bit of a completionist with games, going for multiple endings, higher difficulties, trying for no death runs and completing collections.  Being competitive with my brother while growing up helped with that.  But once I was out of the house, with no household bragging rights on the line, some things became too tedious to complete (e.g., getting all of Gau's Rages in FF6, the figurine collection in Wind Waker, the final Ace Medal in Rogue Squadron II) when there were other games to play.  Also, more income to spending on gaming and less time to dedicate to it lead to a backlog, well before this site even existed, much less when I first heard of it.  CAG didn't cause the backlog problem for me, it only exacerbated it.

 
Don't forget to play 10 hours of Brothers for your 1000 points/$1 live credit from Xbox Rewards before the end of the 14th.

Those are always on, but you can't see them without infrared camera. You have a much better time navigating the dashboard now. Just say "Xbox go to x" to get anywhere instantly.

I'll probably be streaming Escapists tonight after I finish Resident Evil gamerscore. If anybody is on the fence, check it out. I barely know anything about the game, so there will be much failure.

Speaking of Xbox Rewards, I'm 3/5 of the way for the Bros punchcard worth 2000 points. This is probably the easiest punchcard I've ever seen (and I think this is the only one I've ever done!).

Yeah on Twitch (link in sig) Not sure what time though. Probably start between 8 to 10pm cst. Have about 1/5 of Resident Evil to finish first which normally takes less than an hour, but I'm playing on hardest difficulty so might take longer. Especially if I get 1 hit killed long after saving. If Escapists is as fun as I'm hoping, there will be videos on YouTube later this weekend (also in sig).

You had an infrared camera, you might be able to run it through the Xbox One so you can see the dots on tv in real time. I could be completely wrong though.

You could just go to the Kinect option in Settings and select "what else does Kinect see?" and it shows the infared and night vision versions of you :dunno:

So, my 360 controller's right analog stick likes to drift on it's own, which can be quite bothersome in certain games if it were to pan my camera at the wrong time or mess up my aim. I'm wondering if there is a quick fix for it WITHOUT having to open it up. I don't feel comfortable with that when it's such a minor little issue.

It hadn't occurred to me to seek out a fix because I did a bit of reading and everything I saw pointed to "just buy a new one." If I can somehow clean mine instead of spending the money I've been saving in my Amazon account, I'd rather do that. Besides, I couldn't/can't decide if I want to go wired or get another wireless controller. Does anyone have any input that might save my money and/or my controller?

Just looking at gamestop, far from the best place for the lowest prices, but their wireless controllers are only $5 more than wired. If that's any indication of how other retailers are, you're better off going wireless. That's just my opinion. I hate wires.

Amazon's wireless ones are only about $5 more than the wired ones as well. I actually never minded having a wired controller until I got my 360 and had a wireless one. Not to mention the fact that a wired controller has a 9ft cord and I typically sit less then 4ft away from my console. I just figured it might be nice to not mess with rechargeable batteries and be able to use it for pc gaming, but at the same time a friend of mine informed me that the cords tangle, kink and short out easily. Sounds like wireless might be the way to stay though.

 
This is a sluggish time of year. If geometry wars had a decent discount I'd jump in. Good thing Minecraft suckered me in. I'm several years late to this game. My kids love that stompy cat YouTube guy. I might get Minecraft out soon with those 20 minute videos playing

Looks like a successful Date Night after all.  Honestly I've been having more fun playing the Saints Row games than I have with Grand Theft Auto. I haven't played Saints 4 yet, but it looks pretty damn funny. I wish there were more games that were humor based and didn't always take itself too seriously (and not necessarily for kids only).

 
I'm getting seriously tired of seeing Sony Flash Sales ....and nothing from Microsoft.

Considering not even two years ago the company was thinking always-online, all-digital for its new console....its amazing how little interest they show in selling games on their digital marketplace.  Ugh.

If you play on PC, the wired controllers can be used. Wireless controllers can not be used on the PC.

Funny, I was just thinking how much better MS has gotten as of late in regards to digital sales. Their sale last week on EA's titles was pretty amazing. This week is pretty lame, but nobody has amazing deals every week.

geometry wars is a pretty good deal on a pretty new game. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but that seems to be the best deal this week.

Yea that EA sale was unreal, still upset I didn't get UFC :(

Those were EA sales and were mirrored on PSN. Had little to do with MS trying to boost sales.
 
The Escapists is weird. Everybody keeps beating me up and I feel like I'm not making much progress. The first prison is just searching other inmates desks until you get the right materials to build stuff. I'm hoping the other prisons are more complicated than that.

A little late to the achievement discussion, but here goes:

I desperately want to 1000 one game: Rainbow Six Vegas. I'm missing ONE achievement: hosting a dedicated match with 16 players. I tried and tried, even got to 15(!) but never got it. I'm sure the community has died down and I'll be screwed when they pull the plug on the game.

So I lay myself at your mercy. If you guys can help me score this 'cheevie, you are entitled to enter my home and select an ice cold beer of your choice from a wide selection of imports from my refrigerator (with the exception of Guinness; that's in the pantry because I drink it warm). Name the date and time, I'll be there.

Also, I have lightsabers. We can have drunken lightsaber duels.

Seriously, you don't want to know what I would do for this achievement...

Also, nice find in that season pass for Saints Row the Third. Idk when ill play it, but the Third is going to be my first Saints Row experience.

Second also, looking through TrueAchievements was fun. I could see my achievement hunting year and I saw some nice weeks of gaming which coincided with my wife taking vacation and leaving me home alone for awhile lol

I wouldn't recommend it based on what I've played so far. Maybe for $5-$10. Could get better later though. I'll spend a lot of time with it tomorrow. Still had a couple random Resident Evil achievements to get and was mostly thinking about those during the stream. Finished them up after the stream. One of my favorite 1,000 GS.
