Rivals doesnt have any "collectables" like gates and billboards to crash through so we wont have to hear Gator, Mild and Owl complain as much.

Plus, its pretty. Most Wanted on Vita was pretty stripped graphically.
I didn't mind the collectables, it was the lack of the variety in the events that wore me down. Multiplayer actually is pretty fun by comparison as they have challenges that are thrown into the mix to break up "just" racing. I just wish they didn't put such ridiculous time requirements on the DLC trophies. I'll play for a bit more and then I'll idle the distance on the rest of the cars (drive off a wide cliff which spawns you facing the same cliff coasting forward off the cliff again), takes 4ish hours of idling to get the 200 miles required on each car.

Thank goodness it is not their normal pricing. Bacon has gone way up in price, so if they were selling a pizza wrapped in bacon for $8, I was going to really question the authenticity of the bacon.

I am not a fan of the deep dish stuff, so I probably won't ever try this one. It has to be better than that pretzel crust abomination.

So do the Dandragononpa gsmes have any replay value? Hard/easy plats? With the ebay deal and the $15 back, I would just get them digital instead of GameStop. But if they're super quick/easy games that I'll never touch again, then I'll just avoid the digital versions.

Not much replay value since there's only ever one right answer to questions, and while the plats are time-consuming (30-40 hours for each), they aren't especially difficult. You'd probably be better off getting the physical versions.

The order isn't even out and the platinum is at 6%.... lol this is going to be easy
I just want it to be fun, short and moderately good. I would also like it to be somewhat successful if those first things are true. Developers are way too hung up on artificially extending play time (apparently because a bunch of loud ass nerds are too).

Maybe everyone would like the order more if you had to fly your blimp through 150 billboards and 250 security gates . Then it would easily take another 5-10 hours!

Gonna go with its a play through the game and you plat it type deal.

Like the first walking dead game.
Na, there are several collectable trophies. Unless of course all those collectables are found right in front of you. In the cut scenes.

Dammit. I was Vigged.

The Stomping Land, a planned multiplayer dinosaur-survival game that raised $114,000 on Kickstarter, is now in a critical state with its art lead quitting and its creator not responding to emails.

https://games.yahoo.com/news/raising-114-000-kickstarter-dev-121600333.html

Man, some people just love pissing their money away.
What?!?! Kickstarter gives you all the fun of investing in a start up business and all the inherent risk that comes with it, except for one caveat that your maximum possible return has already been capped by whatever rewards tier you're in! What an amazing way to put your money to work!

We've talked about it before, but anyone who sees Kickstarter as anything more than a way to donate money to a project you're interested in is a dumbass.

Or how about make you play 1000 matches or 150 hours online!

Nope. The trophy list has been out for awhile now, and there are a few that require headshots or weapon-related stuff.

http://psnprofiles.com/trophies/3291-The-Order-1886 (Careful--I think there are spoilers in some of the trophy names.)
Really low numbers on those requirements, though. No telling how many enemies there are at this point, of course, but it looks about as hard as the Resistance: Burning Skies plat.

I probably won't get the plat because I'm not going to use a collectibles/trophy guide (which I doubt will even exist yet) on my first playthrough and I don't think I'll want to play through it twice.

I am looking forward to playing through it once without a guide. But I will probably play through it again to get the collectables and plat.

#itsonly5hours!

I was going to say something about you exaggerating, but then I remembered that ssf4 requires something like 600-700 which is close enough. And MK9 has the 24 hours with each character trophy which definitely exceeds 150 hours. So touche.

Usually it's between 10 and 200 matches though!

Hopefully a decent guide pops up right away.
There will be videos at launch it appears. One of those platinums is PS_4Trophies who is the guy who does the PS4Trophies video guides on youtube.

As far as the length of the game, based on his trophy card not quite 8 hours.

ETA: PowerPyx is also in the list. Another video guide guy. So there should even be more than 1 option for collectible guides.

And I fully expect a thread on ps3t to have all of the collectibles listed by the time I start on Friday night/Saturday morning.

Edit - gator'd

The 150 hours online was in reference to Gator getting to level 100 in GTA 5 Online. I thought you said something about 1000 matches on one of your fighting games but maybe it was the 700 in SSF4. I agree, its close enough.

Oh yeah, forgot about gta5.

I think the injustice grind to level 100 would probably take 40+ hours too. There's a reason I don't have these trophies. YET. someday I'll be 99 years old and waiting to die because everyone I loved is gone. And then, and only then, will I finish getting C rank on all street fighter 4 characters.

You plan on outliving your (many) children?

Ugh, I am reporting to a new boss and apparently he is one of those that wants his employees to go into excruciating detail about our objectives for the year and how/what we are going to use or do to meet those objectives.   I also have to do a detailed "professional development" plan for myself as well.

In the past I always just added a one liner about cross training or taking some training classes.  My prior boss didnt give two shits about it and neither did I.  He was so laid back it was great.  Same thing with objectives, they were more general.  I just want to do my job and let my work speak for itself.  I dont want to write down all this fluff that it just that, fluff.

I might have to start doing some actual work.

fuck. Me.

p.s. probably not a bad idea to lock in the current $37 trade at amazon for the order in case the initial bby value tanks because it takes an entire coffee break to plat the game

Random post time: Do you guys know how much the RE: Revelations guide goes for on Amazon?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0744014921/sr=1-1/qid=1424293574/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&qid=1424293574&sr=1-1

...Yeah, I think I'll shove RE:R to the front of my backlog and use my guide very, very, very carefully to plat it then sell the little gold nugget.

The Animal Crossing: New Leaf guide also fetches a pretty penny: http://www.amazon.com/Animal-Crossing-Prima-Official-Guides/dp/0307897079/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1424293421&sr=1-1&keywords=animal+crossing+new+leaf

Which just gives me another piece of paper to lose during my trip. I end up sitting my list down and forgetting it halfway through the store most times.

Dosen't the idea of a paper coupon really seem ---outdated?
I know people have already properly given you shit about this, but I have to chime in as well.

Yes, the paper coupon is outdated. That's why we put them all on your phone that you will always carry with you and not set down and forget halfway through the store. With the ability to access the barcode outside of the app, all you have to do is unlock your phone (if you have iOS you don't even have to do that). But that seems like too much of a hassle to you, the paper print out option was presented.

We looked into merging your barcode with your REDcard, but security issues make that a not happening.

Two things regarding the Order.  First, the developers were interviewed on gamespot and said something to the extent that

  1. The game is only 5 hours if you literally run through the whole game with no sidetracking, no dying, etc.
  2. They were targeting quality over quantity, they think it's dumb when games put filler or grinding sections in game just to add to play time.
  3. Average play time is 8-15 hours depending on difficulty.
Second thing, Like what was said before, PS4 trophies and PowerpX are working on guides, with PowerPX saying that he will have a collectibles guide done by Friday.  Also the collectibles aren't easy Per Colin Moriarty who accidentally slipped that that is taking him a bit without a guide.  Yes it will be fine once we have a guide.  My bet is 80% of us have the plat by the end of the weekend.

So what is the benefit to beating all the remix bosses before you beat the main end boss in Rogue Legacy again?

And when you fight those asshole remix bosses, do any of your stats carry over to those predetermined dudes/dudettes they give you?  Or do they come with their own set of backend castle stats?

No real benefit aside from getting them out of the way.

No, the predetermined people are just that--predetermined. Each one has different stats and abilities that you'll have to check in order to most effectively fight the remix bosses.

I guess I'm just turning into a Cainiac or Mpaullin, but using a collectibles guide on your first playthrough of a (good, non-trophy fodder) game is lame.

I agree. I'll probably conduct my first playthrough in the usual neurotic fashion, checking every inch of every room before progressing. Maybe that'll be enough.

That's how I play too. I bet I take 1-2 hours longer per game than most people because I check every nook and cranny.

And it still never ever pays off because I still somehow miss a couple collectibles every time!
