So who do we think will end up being the Commons of this wave?
I'm hoping all of them are commons, as I really want two Lucinas and two Robins (one for opening, one for display of each). Practically, there are those cspia things that say how long the amiibo was manufactured that would probably give that information, but I don't have it available off-hand. Would hazard a guess that there would be less Ness, Lucina, and Robin then there would be Pac-Man and Wario, though.

CPSIA doesn't have wave 4 yet, they typically go up 1-2 months before release. If wave 4 was going to be all commons the preorders wouldn't have sold out so fast on international sites.

Having something shipped from any place is always a risk so I do not see what all the fuss is about, if you really wanted them in perfect condition pre-order in store or for pick up
No, please no, let's just drop this topic, we're just going in circles.
Store pickup = amiibo sold to someone else amirite??!?

Actually I've requested store pick-up and I still get them damaged.

Seriously! What are you guys doing!?

Amazon.co.jp had Wave 4 preorders today and no one here noticed? I need to stop relying on this thread to alert me and just lurk the amiibo subreddit. That's 4 for 4 on international websites selling out of Wave 4 with no heads up here. :(

Umm, who cares? If it's not a North American Retailer having preorders open I could give a shit less.

Everyone here is really that confident that they'll get US preorders when the international ones are now selling out in a split second? I'm not looking to take chances on this wave. I'll take preorders wherever I can get them right now just to be safe. If anyone sees a post on reddit about international preorders opening, please post an alert here. Even if you don't personally care about them, there is definitely others here who would appreciate the heads up.

sooooo when are we predicting wave 4 to go up?
No one knows, and no one will ever know until it happens. I would expect them to sell out incredibly fast, though. International sites have been selling out in minutes/hours when they had previous waves for months. Not a good sign at all.

imagine if due to all the problems there been with even the pre-orders here that nintendo decide to just set a release date but not allow pre-orders and make it a free for all in stores on release date lol god help us in that situation

Actually, Amazon Japan has had the pages up for a couple days now, but they've never been available from anyone other than third party sellers.

Amazon.co.jp won't ship to my address. I tried to order a MK from them and got a message saying they can't deliver to my address. Same with co.uk when I tried to pre-order Toad there.

Honestly, I just check this thread and the amiibo subreddit just to make sure I don't miss a good sale, promotion (Like get a free Kirby amiibo when you preorder Kirby and the Rainbow Curse), or price drops/clearances on figures that aren't selling though.

Trying to get a complete set right now is just a headache I don't need nor want.

Unless they went REALLY fast Amazon JP did not have preorders. They are only coming soon listings as I've been checking everyday. Only resellers are on the listings Amazon themselves never sold them yet unless like I mentioned it sold out within hours which I highly highly doubt.

You can use Tenso.com to order from Amazon.co.jp. It's fairly easy and oddly enough you can come out paying less than US MSRP for some amiibos. I just did my first Tenso purchase a week ago and got my package today (got a bunch of import PS2 game for $2 - $3 each).

Glad that Amazon Japan is only third-parties. I hadn't even seen the listings for Robin and Lucina until today, so I thought Amazon had listed them and already sold out. I guess these are just Yodobashi preorders being resold on Amazon (I don't think foreigners can order from Yodobashi, I tried using my Tenso address there and could not register).

My Meta Knight from BB came in a pretty big box completely wrapped in air bags, but the cardboard back was crushed to hell, must have been like that before packing, but I open mine anyway, amiibo itself was fine

The Mario Party version? Is she even part of the Super Mario line? I thought there was gonna another, separately Mario Party line?

In other news, thanks Target.

I don't think that box is too small guys, it looks like they could have easily laid one down flat flat and the other on the side. They just chose to be stupid.

My 2 Ike's arrived in perfect condition from Target. Along with 2 Mega Mans from Walmart, in separate boxes, and every amiibo I have ever ordered from Best Buy. They must be like, shit no658ea3 is ordering, give him the best.

That's how mine was from Best Buy lol... They won't except a return because the product inside wasn't damage... Talked to the manager got my refund no problem.... wtf!!!

I'm pretty sure they aren't even supposed to bend the packaging when boxing up, somebody just didn't give a shit.

Anybody here ever have this kind of job? Is purposely damaging an item allowed when processing to fit in a box? I could only imagine that that SOP would be to ensure it gets packed well enough to reach the customer in the condition that he would find in a B&M store.

That's pretty brutal - I mean, you can't really call that one an accident. I'm still steamed at Best Buy because my MM N3DS was in a box with almost no protection and came in really dented and worn (the box, not the console itself) and they're telling me that they're not going to do anything about it because the console itself is fine. Lord forbid anyone want to collect something they really care about, especially when it comes with a Limited Edition tag. The fact that they sold out instantly and can't replace it for me should tell them something about its value, but they just don't care.

Anyway, pardon the rant. At least no one's telling you to just be happy you got one, regardless of whether or not it looks like crap (or maybe they did and I just missed it in the sea of posts).

Hey, sounds like the problem I just finished typing up. Glad to see I'm not the only one getting dumped on by them. Well, not glad you had to put up with it, but you get the point.

Honestly I don't know anyone in real life outside of this thread that cares about the packaging on most things. To a person who is making minimum wage, bending the packaging on your precious Amiibo is the last thing on their mind. They probably have to pack a gazillian things daily. They are just worried about putting the thing in a box and moving on to the package. Honestly this shit isn't that serious. If you are unhappy with the packaging contact the company and get a refund.

This is a site dedicated to video games - you're going to see a lot more people who are really into and dedicated to this stuff here. That shouldn't be too surprising.

And no, I don't think anyone should have to put up with this kind of thing, regardless of the situation. I've worked in a warehouse, I know it's not rewarding or the happiest of jobs, but that doesn't excuse a complete disregard for someone else's property.

I guess some people never venture into the Collectors Edition thread, I've seen some pretty vicious things said because boxes were dented, dinged, creased, bent in a bit.

For the most part I don't care, since I intend to use them but the ones I have for trade I prefer to have in immaculate condition because I know that's what people expect.

I hate when people say this shit. Minimum wage is higher than ever and people still aren't expected to do their jobs?

Idiocracy isn't a funny movie, it is a prophecy. I feel sorry for younger people who are actually smart, because they are going to have their hands full.

I'm getting angry, time to log off.

Edited to correct grammar:
Original sentence: "Idiocracy isn't a funny movie, it is prophesy."

That's what I get for trying to get fancy. "a prophecy" is the noun. I had left out the "a" and tried to use the verb "prophesy" as an adverb. Technically, it should have been "prophetical" or "prophetic", but how many people actually caught that? ;)

Nope, it is too small. I tried organizing it in every way/shape/manner but there's no way to make both fit without bending one of the cards. Even the best Tetris player couldn't make both fit into that box.

My biggest aggravation with this type of thing is the unnecessary laziness involved. Forget for a second that recipients might want pristine packages - why are people who are terrible at packaging employed to package stuff? I see this shit at my office job all day: people who don't give a shit and have no interest in using problem solving skills cutting corners that end up costing everyone time and money. It's dumb and wasteful and costs get passed down to the consumer in the form of higher prices and worse service. If your employees can't package stuff correctly, figure out how to get them to do it right, or hire someone else. Just put the fucking merchandise in a box that fits. Jesus Christ.

Whoa let's not go that far I know some pretty good tetris players.... They just don't work at target distribution centers.

That's bull crap! I know plenty of collectors, every where, who care about packaging. I also think that, if the employee dislikes their job, that much, then leave it. If that's not an option, then do a decent job. The amount of money a person makes is no reason to cause damage to another persons items. It's pretty simple.

As annoying as a giant crease across the top of the packaging is, complaining about it really won't do much. The last thing an employee cares about is putting some pointless figure into a different box. I'm sure almost none of them are aware there is any sort of collectors marker for this sort of thing, and the majority of Target employees would assume these are children ordering cheaply made plastic figures. It's an honest mistake and while I'm sure it's infuriating, it has only happened a very small minority of orders which is a little surprising especially with all the people ordering from Walmart, Target, and Amazon which pay employees nothing and have horrible working conditions in the warehouses.

Because they are the only people that would take that shitty job. Imagine doing the same exact fucking thing for hours on end. Packing shit all day. Seriously. Think for a second. Who the fuck would do that if they had another choice?
