In honor of Casimir Pulaski Day, I bestow upon you that Polish family tradition of sending people home with crap from your house that you didn't want ("I found this book on introductory shorthand in the basement and thought Carol could use it so make sure you take it home for her... don't forget").  Here's a key for Master Reboot

Someone got 99 problems.

And that game ain't 1.

Hit me!

Well never thought I would buy Squishy but I did.....it was all Steam funds anyway...and cards...I remember seeing some let's play of it I believe and it looks OK at least....yeah....

So I fired up Metal Gear Solid: Revengance today.. and holy crap with the cut-scenes.  I thought maybe since Kojima was less involved there'd be less of them...  NOPE!

I'm not saying I don't like the gameplay but it really takes me out of a game when I'm playing intently for a minute then watch a cutscene then play for 2 mins then a cut-scene followed by a long-ass conversation via holophone(while forced slow-walking).. then 2 more mins of gameplay, a cut-scene then a bossfight with 4 cut-scenes in it.. etc... etc..

I've only played the first 2 levels so far and I really couldn't tell you what I did more - watch movies or gameplay.

Just let me play the damn game and limit the cut-scenes to the beginning and end of a level OK Japan?  That or just make it a movie. Thanks.

end rant.

P.S. - what's with the non-combat-sensible-mace-high-heels Raiden?

P.P.S - You pose too much.

Actual end rant.

P.P.P.S. - Mirror's Edge was freaking great.

You can skip the codec cutscenes by holding a button - I think it was Back. And honestly, there's not that many, once you get to a certain point you go solo and don't get any more from your teammates. As for the videos, they can be skipped by pressing Start and selecting "skip."

I don't mind paying $2 for it because I wanted those Granny games anyway. The Brink of Consciousness series is supposed to be good for HOGs and the Space one looks interesting and different.

That said there's like 6 people buying Bundle Bandits so yeah.

Meanwhile Carl is complaining everyone is slamming the door in his face for everything that's not a repeat.

I don't get why they'd debut those games in Bundle Bandits of all things.

$21.98 for Cities: Skylines in VIP. How stupid would I be for pre-ordering a Paradox game?
I think you'd be Moran of the year. Last year's moran of the year award went to that guy that paid full price for Diablo 3 right before it was half off at Target

Yeah, well...I really enjoyed that 8 hours of Diablo 3. :oldman:

Wasn't it cheaper in some unspecified South American country?
I have pie rat bux and the conversion rate is too confusing for me to parse.

Locomotivah presents....

Pregnancy

"'Pregnancy' is an interactive short story where the player attempts to influence the decisions of a 14 year old girl about the future of her pregnancy."

http://store.steampowered.com/app/351900/

Now available on steam.
"At the end of the story, see how your decisions line up with other players, inspired by games like Telltale's The Walking Dead and Atlus' Catherine."

I want to know what Bobby's decisions would be.

Devolver games are on sale. Isnt listed as a weeklong sale.

I'm guessing there's some sort of joke behind the Serious Sam games retailing for /$100/ to get a so-called 90%?

Actually a LOT, and I mean a huge mass of people, are very pumped for that game, thinking it's 'finally' going to be the city sim they've been waiting for. Granted many of those are the same people who'd pay $32 to pre-order Cities XXL -- which is just Cities XL with minor updates. If you know anything about Cities XL you'd know what that says about those people.

Stream/youtube embargo for Skylines is lifted tomorrow, so at least i'll get to see it in action before impulse buying. Assuming I don't impulse buy it tonight.

Awww I missed the $2.99 price for Shadowrun Returns at GOG :( I guess that site only runs deals for a few hours?
That's not a good deal anyway. It's been 1.50 on steam before. Plus you want it on steam because it has workshop support, so if you want to download a new campaign you have the convenience of just clicking the "subscribe" button on steam. Also dat +1. You actually lucked out.

5 Nights at Freddy 3 is out, duh fuck?
Watching a let's play, the game looks a bit too complicated for its own good.
I can't believe people are buying the sequels to that game. After about 45 minutes or whatever with the first one I was completely done. Yeah, it'll scare you a bit at first until you're conditioned to the jump scares then by that time you're on the levels that are challenging which are just a pain in the ass and you'll quit. I regret soiling my steambrary with that garbage.

Funny thing is, the Five Nights at Freddy's guy is all Christian and stuff. Well he put this happy CG beaver game for kids on Greenlight and Jim Sterling and a bunch of other people tore it apart and said the CG beavers looked like creepy robots and crap so that made a light bulb go off on his head and he decided why not make an intentionally creepy CG animal robot game?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcvRx0Sx1Hc

Two sequels later in a short time here we are.

Oh and BTW you can still get the mobile version of the beaver game.

(or here for you Church of Jobs-ian sheep)

*Edit: It seems like the Freddys developer just kept throwing shit at the wall to see what stuck. There's a Wiki Page here which lists all his various mostly mobile titles including such wonderful classics like Fart Hotel.

All Christian games are creepy to me anyway, so it makes sense that the dude makes legit horror games now.

I impulse bought Cities Skylines after seeing a couple hours of gameplay footage from it and reading comments from some folks who were playing it.  There were a few people that they allowed to put footage on youtube recently and I have watched all of the goofy dev diary stuff.  I really like what I have seen and the attitude they have towards modding is promising as well.  I do not mind going fakey on a game if it is something I have really wanted to play and I have been craving a decent city builder ever since Sim City 4 finally got boring to me.

I always feel like I have to watch cut-scenes. I do know that's my own issue as I am a fan of a decent story-line in a games... I just like it when the story is more integrated into a game, rather than told by frequent gameplay interrupting cinematics.

I'll give it some more time, but I'm not sure if you are saying that there aren't that many as the game goes on, or that you didn't find the cut-scenes that frequent (I obviously thought there were way too many in the first 2 levels).

According to HLTB I see it isn't even that long, so I'll probably finish it since, like I said, I do enjoy the actual gameplay - but I am looking forward to going solo and less interruptions.

ASA: Remastered Edition now has a Steam store page. ASA was in the Indie Royale Debut 4 bundle, but the Steam version has "Remastered" in the title.

inb4 the dev refuses to give IR buyers steam keys. They've rejected giving desura buyers steam keys, so I figure chances are low for IR too.

Save a couple bucks and grab Civ V Complete the next time it goes on sale. If you haven't played any of them, it's probably not worth it to get the earlier versions. Not saying they're bad, many people prefer IV to V, but as a new player you won't be upset by any of the game mechanics in V.

If you're interested in the +1s or have bingbux, then get this bundle.

I wouldn't buy just because you don't need all three of those games. If you want to collect +1s to your steam count, they've been in a humble bundle so you might be able to find them cheaper from a trader. But if you just want to play...wait for a sale and buy either the complete edition of 4 or 5. The games are pretty redundant so unless you're a hardcore fan you don't need more than one. Plus they have so much replay value that you can get more gametime out of one of them than you will out of 99% of other titles out there.

I had sex 173 times and didn't get caught. Then played with a suicidal pig and got stuck in the first level. 10/10 games. If these Steam deals keep being this good, I'll be a monkey's uncle one day.

That is a good price but if you have never played a Civ game you will most likely only play Civ5. Install the Civ5 expansions after you get a few games under your belt. Be warned Civilization is a time kill, if you don't have the free time and/or the commitment do not buy. With that said they are great games, well except civ3 :puke:
