some ppl doens't like Steam and prefer to have hard copy of their games.

but I agree with you.. they could have put it in bluray disc.. oh wait, I don't have bluray drive on my computer. In fact, ever since i start using Netflix and Steam, I don't even use my DVD drive
It's well known - I do prefer to have hard copies, as well. But, in this era of digital downloads - it ain't necessary. I can just back-up huge game-files on an external hard drive.

The problem is: who the hell wants to have a game spanning seven DVD's?

I don't have a BR-drive on my PC either...namely b/c my hand was never really forced to buy one. BR-burner drives ain't too bad to buy, price-wise. BR discs aren't that cheap, though - especially when compared to just buying a huge external hard drive and storing plenty of games on that. Even when on the PC CD burners and DVD burners were in their early stages - blank CD's or DVD's weren't really that expensive.

Well, games on a few discs - that ain't that bad. Like at around 3 - that's starting to push it.

I really don't like disc-switching on installs or any of that nonsense; but can tolerate it, if need be.

But, seven? This is when it's getting ridiculous.

Not only are games way cheaper digital in most instances, but retail still hasn't found a not-so-expensive + suitable disc-drive format for PC gamers.

About retail copies - I'm sure some gamers also don't wanna blow-up their ISP, if they might have download data-size caps or they ain't got the fastest Internet connection around. So, for those - retail's a worthwhile option. But, unfortunately - this game could be on 7 DVD's!

If we thought this was bad w/ almost 60GB worth of GTA5 PC, imagine once that 100+ GB Star Citizen releases - LOL.

Wait, FF13 takes up 63 GB? The 360 release was only 3 discs, iirc (each disc can only hold 8 GB). I know there might be some bloat because of the higher graphics, but it's that bad?

If it helps.. I'm likely one of those people who'll buy it on disc.  Nothing like having the same number of Discs as the Original Baldur's Gate.. Am I right?

Yes, most games still come with discs... though getting them is getting harder.  Especially when places like GS have codes for everything...

Yes @ 63GB size.

IIRC - Japanese audio pack takes up 30GB or so.

Anyone here play the DS2 DLC? I'm about to face the Rotten and after that I could pop into the 1st DLC, but I'm only level 80 or so (lower than 90 for sure). Anyway, wondering if I should be higher. I'm actually sadden by the lack of activity on the PS3 version, but it's really not surprising, just sad.

If GTA5 PC comes on disc - I hope Rockstar Social Club got overhauled into a service like Steam. That way, take the code from the box, just activate key onto Rockstar Social Club & download the entire thing while I go do something else.

If I have a game...and try to activate another code of the same game on Steam...will it tell me it's a duplicate and not let me use the key?

What happened?
Did this happen?

fuck ing Dying Light :(
Aw, that's rough. I've been scammed twice on this site. Once out of a year of live I was swapping for 2 360 controllers a few years back and semirecently out of a $25 Xbox currency card.

Basically, someone contacted me impersonating someone else on steam trades who had great rep. Totally ripped me off. My own damn fault. fuck
That sucks. Did he add you on Steam or was he on here?

I remember when Betrayal at Krondor came on 7 floppy discs and took 25 minutes to install.  Ah, the good old days.  It took up a greater percentage of my hard drive space back then, too.

Da fuq. I'm not a scammer :whistle2:(
I meant quoting your pic as in "grabbing a key when it's dropped" - i.e. "Spodering" a key.

I didn't mean quoting your pic as in say "scamming someone."

Of course, it wasn't the best analogy on my half, now that I think about - b/c when Spodering a key, usually nothing's expected in return from doing so...since a key-drop is usually done out of the kindness of someone's heart.

Pickles didn't get anything from the person who Spodered the key from him - and was expecting something b/c they made some kind of trade/deal agreement. :(

I think if it's a different package ID or whatever it will add it and waste the key. So if Groupees didn't have the soundtrack and Humble did, you could redeem both, and I think even the non-soundtrack Groupees one after the Humble. Could be wrong, though, and that might be a rare case.

Crap...I got an extra Dark Souls 2 key today with the Collector's Edition Statue thing...and idk if it's used or not.  It was sealed in the steelbook, but still...it could have been resealed.

There's no way to check if it's used. You would only know when someone without the game tries to activate it
