I wouldn't put too much faith in the ratings for early access games.  Too many people review what they think the game WILL be and not what it is.

I don't put much faith in steam reviews to begin with. Wickland has 70% positive reviews which is WAY too generous for what it is, and Ratz Instagib has 95% positive which is just ridiculous.

Never heard of either of them, but they look fun. Might buy Ratz on sale. Will buy Wickland now

I asked about this yesterday, and it turns out Killing Floor 2 IS now up at GMG. The discount code, however, is not redeemable. Looks like i wait till full release and a sale.
Very interesting... I haven't seen many (any?) Early Access games for sale at non-bundle storefronts. I see they've got Early Access prominently displayed too.

It is bad if you've played previous games in the series. I've been craving a decent wrestling PC game for awhile. Grumpy Cat vs Lil Bub mods please
It's been way too long since we had a WWE game on the PC.

Oh, and I hope we can do some sick Mid-Air RKO's in WWE 2K15 like this one:

Can I buy you on sale so that I can stop you from buying shitty games?
What Wickland looks so fun. Classic shooter

Probably not. Don't expect anything from the last couple years ago. One of the biggest complaints I've heard is how outdated the game is.

GMG has had an entire EA section for a while now.

My take on EA is that it's a good concept, but like any good concept some people use it for bad. It's definitely not the evil cash grab some people see it as, but it's far from perfect.

I've been burned by EA games, though some are technically still being worked on, but I've also played some that were worth my money from the start. If being EA helped the games come to fruition then I'm happy with that. I'm sure some devs just went in for a cash grab like shady devs do in the Android market, but I feel most EA games, even the ones that fail miserably, go in with good intentions.

Come on, MysterD, that just happened in Wrestlemania so it might not make a game that was released a year ago.
No, that was a Shooting Star Press countered w/ a Mid-Air RKO that Randy did to Evan Bourne a while ago (who is no longer w/ WWE).

This is the Curb Stomp countered w/ a Mid-Air RKO that Randy did to Rollins at WM31:

I stand corrected. Evan Bourne? Man that name sounds familiar from a really long time ago. The Wrestlemania one was much cooler though.

He's a high-flyer. He got hurt, got into a car accident, then WWE eventually released him.

He's in ROH now as Matt Sydal:

I think the Shooting Star countered w/ the RKO is extremely dangerous (since pretty much it's a Backflip right into a RKO driving him into the mat). If that backflip was botched, that whole thing could've been really nasty (for Evan).

But, I think what makes the Curb Stomp countered w/ RKO look so sick was the ridiculous straight-up amount of height Seth got from pretty much stepping + jumping right off Randy's shoulder...and then Randy driving him straight down.

Both looked sick, though. No doubt.

Kind of stinks that it's possible we might not see much of Seth's Curb Stomp, if the rumors are true. I really didn't like his new Forward Falling DDT that he did on Ziggler on Raw this past Monday to win the match. Seems like everybody either does Super Kicks or some kind of DDT variation, these days and age.

The RKO is a "catch" finisher, which means you can use it to counter high-flying moves, as well as running attacks. Take a look at around 2:23 in this video.

Awesome!

Thanks for sharing that!

Stinks that it looks like Paige won't be in WWE 2K15 PC out-the-gate, though.

Who knows if she'll be DLC (free or pay) later or not come here at all.

I suppose the amount of potential sales has changed their outlook for at least this Early Access title.

So any CAGs fakeybroing WWE 2K15?  Price is a bit steep for me and I have WWE 14 and 13 on PS3, but I might be tempted if there were people buying it and doing online play.

Only way I'm buying a WWE game is if I can do this:

That is Seth Rollins back when he was Tyler Black. The dude he's landing on is the previously mentioned Matt Sydal (Evan Bourne).

About MysterD fakeybroing this - Doubtful. It's not like this is the best wrestling game of all time, supposedly.

If it ain't that great - hopefully it sales well, WWE 2K16 comes here, and that game is feature-rich + knocks it out the park.

Most definitely will buy WWE 2K15, when it gets cheaper...cheaper into MysterD territory of buying - i.e. for AAA titles, $12.49 or less. No doubt about it.

B/c this seems to be coming so quickly after the PC announcement - I do also wonder if this is a basic quick-port or if this is a robust port that been in the works for quite some time so. Hopefully, the latter - and that they did a decent port with it.

B/c this seems to be coming so quickly, I also wonder how online play will be + how it will technically perform on my rig...and others, as well.

I'm trying to figure out which discussion I'd prefer to see here the most. Wrestling, Bloodborne, Wii-U, or shoes. I think I'm gonna go with shoes.
Agreed. I grew out of wrestling entertainment, but I still watch anime. That explains my views on the WWE in a nutshell.

Wow. I never ever made the connection that Seth Rollins is Tyler Black. And I used to watch Tyler Black a crapload in ROH. Even saw him once live in Houston. That's what years of not watching wrestling will do to you.

As a service to any CAGs considering buying it on sale, I've been playing a bunch of "A Story About My Uncle" tonight. It's a fun game, despite the stupid name. Swinging around the levels with your grapple is really enjoyable. If you like games like the Portal games then you'll like this one. It's at an historic low at $2.59 and I couldn't recommend it more.

Yeah, about those hamburgers. . . . I fell asleep three times going through the last two pages of the thread.
Hamburgers are always on the table for discussion.

So, anyone in the Rhode Island area ever been to The Abbey?

I just read an article on PC Gamer about a free game with a grappling hook so why would I pay for the same thing?

Bought it, backlogged it. Stop playing games, loser.

There are a number of things wrong here...

1) You haven't played both games to compare

2) They're different kinds of game anyway

3) Metroid Prime is a console game

4) Metroid Prime costs more than $2.59

5) You have boobs and you're a guy
seriously? EVER heard of man boob? Guys have boob too.. including Booby

I can't help but wonder what Tebow is making of recent developments.

Does WWE2K15 feature spanskying?

(I'll probably buy it at a decent discount but I haven't played/watched wrestling in years. Is Doink the Clown still a thing?)

He's too busy playing with me on his recently bought Xbone. You're welcome for making him a console peasant again.

You mean a Mooby?
Moobs is the proper terminology.

I'll give you one better, his current stooge Jamie Noble of J&J Security is the former ROH Champion James Gibson! I saw Tyler wrestle in Pittsburgh a few years ago along with Daniel Bryan, Luke Harper, Cesaro, Sami Zayn and Corey Graves. Highlight of the show was Davey Richards spitting on a kid who was taunting him.

"Landing on"?!? He barely clips his hand!
Well that's the problem with indys...sometimes the hitboxes are off...

Metroid Prime did it better. ;)
Opposing Force did it even better

Upon searching the term "early access" on Steam, 149 of 218 results have 70% or greater positive reviews. Most early access games are pretty well received, not a simple cash grab. Whether you agree with the concept of early access or not, its success and reception by users has solidified its place as a part of the game industry for the foreseeable future.
It's paying to test a game. Which is the opposite of what it should be. Being paid to test a game. It's fucking retarded.

As others have said, I wouldn't really judge Steam reviews as a necessarily accurate portrayal of how good a game is. I've noticed that unless a game is absolutely horrid it seems like it's pretty rare for a game to have less than 80% or more positive reviews.

That being said, I don't have too much of a problem with early access being used by developers because they'd be stupid not to. I do think consumers are pretty dumb in most cases to buy early access games. My bigger annoyance as well is in steam sales when on any given day we see like 4 of the featured games be early access ones that get a whopping 33% discount.
