Wow... They changed that to requiring a $10 DLC? This is disappointing, as it seemed to only require DLCs that were more than $1 previously. I know I should be glad they offer it at all, but it just seems like the keep restricting and removing things from it to the point where it just feels useless.

The mistake you're making is you're using your brake in that game. Don't. Just keep accelerating and using walls to bounce around corners.

I know it sounds like I'm being a smart ass, but trust me. Especially for those 3 challenge races (except for when they require no damage to a car; for those you just have to keep restarting and hoping that this time there's less or no traffic spawned).

I'm playing it right now. It's honestly embrassing how much of a mess this game is on a technical level. I wasn't expecting a complete overhaul, but it still looks like shit and even has massive pop up and slowdown at times.

The game itself is ok. I had a blast for a few hours but now I just want the damned story to finally end.

I haven't touched the DLC yet, I remember thinking they were very flawed, but also very good and much better than the main game.

The game isn't bad by any means, just has alot of problems. Also, I'm sorta jaded because the insane amount of glitches I've experienced on the 360 version, 1 of which forced me to restart the entire game. Thankfully, this release cleans most of that up.

That must have been a recent change. Though the wording is "purchase $10 worth of eligible game add-ons for that title", so purchasing multiple items that cross the $10 threshold should qualify. Whether it actually works that way will require a guinea pig ...

I could not beat the chopper even after improving my initial time by over 45 seconds and losing by about the same distance. I just abused rewind on the final 15% to get every corner perfect to win. I hate doing things like that in game but if my opponent is going to cheat then you have to even the odds somehow

I don't understand why people keep saying the 360 version was so much harder. I thought it was about as hard on the one. Played through both on normal with only one or two races I had to redo on account of screwing up near the end.

The game was disgustingly difficult, especially for the latter cars. The One version had nitro since it was introduced, but the 360 version only got it like three times. The chopper race had to have been the most frustrating one for me, followed by the Bugatti (I kept messing up the corner and slowing down too much).

The easiest achievement to get was the 15k combo chain.
Grab the GTR, which drives like it's on ice, head over to the airport runway and let loose with drifts, slides, donuts, burnouts
One of the easiest achievements in the game.

On a different note, I finally downloaded episode 2 for Life Is Strange after buying the season pass last week. I realized the Season Pass is basically useless on the 360 since you need to have Episode 1 (like normal), which costs $4.99, and the pass itself costs $16.99 . At the end, you only end up saving $3 than if you had bought them separately :???:

Yeah 360 version of F&F was hard as balls. For one thing I think the designers forgot that they didn't implement Nitro in most of the events on 360, based on the times they expected you to achieve. For another, I think they just forgot to scale some of the difficulty parameters-- enemy racer AI seems to be the only thing that actually gets easier when you turn down the difficulty. Case in point, the event where you smash billboards with the Jeep. Both games on Easy, the Xbone version requires 100 boards smashed in the time allotted, and the 360 version requires 130. How does that make sense except that someone screwed up?

 
Got through two of the bosses on Shovel Knight. That is a fun little game. Was looking at the achievements. Beat the game without dying seems super tough.

You might be able to cheese it like in Ori. Make a copy of your save after every level without a death. Load the copy if you die. Still challenging, but not impossible. Probably good to do the break all checkpoints achievement at the same time.

Also, in the first level there is an area with a pit in the bottom middle, a bug in the bottom right and a knight in the bottom left. You're supposed to go to the right but go to the left, break the wall for a secret cave. The first hole gets you a full HP and MP restore potion as long as you have bought the calice in the village and you have the fishing rod - so you can cheese it with that too, every time you go into some hard ass part you just run through the first level twice (20 mins for 2 runs), have 2 full restore calices with you and bosses become cakewalks. Pits, spikes (invincibility coin for that) and shit like that? Still hard. Running through the first level is also a good way to farm gold, nets you some 5-6k if you do everything.

I was looking at the trophies (I have SK for PS4) and I concur - there are several difficult sounding ones for this game. 'Finish the game in 90 mins' and 'Finish the game w/o falling into a bottomless pit' will be hard, too. Especially because I have fallen into a bottomless pit already. Several times.

Dude. It's free.

I like the F1 games. You can "game" the system, though, with pit stop strategies in shorter races. The AI will pit based on a full race even when you don't have to. That's the only way I ever win races, though. It's definitely a sim...

Your not alone. I first noticed it when I was having problems with apache race. I ended turning assist off and beat both apache and plane by few seconds. SECONDS! On xbox one, it was a huge stretch to victory.

I seconded the statement....xbox 360 version is the sadists version. At least I banged it to 1000/1000.

I didn't buy a lot of digital games but have been getting "games with gold" since they rolled it out. My membership expires in July 2017 and assuming they still have that program, I want to get the appropriate storage device. Any recommendation on size and model/brand?

You can use HDDs without having to format them or reserve the storage in advance! I tested my 500GB one (there's about 300 GB free) and was able to transfer a few contents. I think I'm just going to get a 1TB drive for both my 360 and my laptop.

Haven't tested if it works with NTFS though

I think get a 4tb for the X1 and a 2tb for the 360. I'm over 500gb for the 360 and I'm pretty sure I'll get to 1tb alone with future gwg. As for the X1, I'm about 50% on my 500gb so far and that's only because I'm dl gwg because I still mostly game on the 360.

I can't give you the exact reason, but mainly what I said before because the Xbone handles the storage differently than the 360, it also doesn't seem possible to make partitions generally.

I think Gideons advice might work better here although at least for now I'm settled with a 320 GB harddrive + 1 TB external on my 360. Should give me some space for a while (still have around 600 GB left right now).

EDIT: Also the 360 wouldn't support a 4TB in the first place...and since it's not possible to use partitions anyway...yeah..

Yea. The only reason I even went hunting for the info is because my $2.99 purchase of the extra tomb in Tomb Raider didn't qualify so I figured I would look at the terms before doing nay more experiments.

I hear you, and I'm not complaining. I just have such a backlog (including lots of other "free" games) and I have a bit of OCD (obsessive completion disorder) that I want to make sure I'm actually going to enjoy a game (even a free one) before booting it up.

Go to the basement in the first town. Talk to the guy highest in the room on the right. Buy 2 chalices. Leave town to world map and go northeast. Talk to the giant fish. He'll refill your chalices with MP+HP potion and it only takes 5 seconds after your first visit.

That is the old rumor I was referring to, as it originated as a reddit post from a couple months ago that reads like an NFL 2K fanboy's fan fiction to me. The guy that wrote it was supposedly a friend of somebody on the Dev team, so he can conveniently leak details because he's not under NDA like everybody else. The other named guy in that leak besides the titular cover guy is a former phone app developer exec, which makes me think there's some catch to this whole thing that has yet to be revealed.
 
Any recommendations for some good and cheap external hard drives I can use with the 360 now?

I'm not doubting that there's a Joe Montana game, just most of what the reddit leak claims about the game.

 
* Is it even realistically possible to fill one Terabyte of hard drive space in just games for the Xbox 360...?  2TB seems almost excessive.

* Any idea on how much a 7200rpm hard drive will speed things up over the stock 360 hard drive?  (in my case, the hard drive from 2013's Xbox 360e)

Yeah, I'm sure it's pretty easy if you install a lot of your retail disc games. Just on pure downloads? Possible, but harder.

I have been searching for a 2TB 7200rpm portable, but apparently they aren't made yet or something.

If I read it right, it looks like the Xbox One has a cool feature where it will automatically turn on & off power to the external hard drive when not in use - thereby saving power, etc.  Does the 360 have this feature?  ....If so, maybe I should just buy an external rather than portable+Ycable.

 
Finally beat Gears of War Judgement.   Why couldn't the game be more like Aftermath where it doesn't feel like minigames?

 Having to push Up to continue to the next level was annoying.  Did people hate the seamless levels of the previous games and demand the stars system?
