I was (am? It's still alive but it's pretty inactive lately) in a flipping group that eventually moved off of CAG onto our own forum. Vig was a member, and Jeff/Pete joined but wasn't that active, which they got pretty pissed about. There was talk several times about adding you, but usually one of the admins shot you down.
I didn't participate because once I saw it I realized it was dumber than a bag of dicks. The top secret don't-tell-anyone-or-else flipping/reselling forum. Pshaw I say!

Whuh? I just remember simmias being particularly adamant about me posting that CE here when it got announced. I wasn't saying he's the only Danganronpa fan in here.
OK well as long as we're on the same page. I got a $5 certificate to use by Sept so I'm tempted on picking it up.

Yeah, that came from it starting when flipping was a pretty scandalous activity on CAG. By the time you joined, no one on CAG gave a shit, so I don't know why the group kept up with that pretense.

On top of that, a couple of the CAG mods were members, and they didn't really want it known.

Just got an email saying my PC is supposed to ship this week. Waiting on that tracking#! I'll post pics whenever it does come in which I assume would be next week.

yeah there are two off site flipping groups but im just not that interested in flipping anymore. the old group (the one you are talking about) got splintered while still on cag and they dislike me ever since because I would tell my friends about flips and they were all about keeping it in the group only. I understand loose lips sink ships but i was also all about spreading the wealth and telling people about flips or else it wasn't helping anyone but the 30 people in the group. I understand keeping it off slickdeals but iamthecheapestgamer was even with me and we went on to make another 100 person flip group. That group was shut down when cag 3.0 hit but they have an offsite thread also, but really there just isn't the huge 200% flipping opportunities that used to be around so not even worth it. im glad they care enough about me to shoot me down. if people give me that much concern i must be doing something right/wrong ;)

Could have been, I've been on the site for like 11 years or some crazy shit so I've been around.
amongst all my printed trophy guides for games i havnt played i found a 10 page list of usernames that were in the group in case we ever got another flip group started and I think you were in it. that was back when they were using chat rooms and stuff. my memory is so bad it only goes back a few weeks at most so if i don't write stuff down/print it, i forget it all. #memento

i would understand if we were all based in the same city but i dont think posting flips ever really hurt anyone's chances. only time it ever hit home tho was this Derclaw member that was in the group and he actually lived in stl and i went to a store and grabbed all the flips and he saw me on the way out. lololol. my girl laughed and laughed. :) also we are evil

I guess I'm pretty blissfully unaware but I never realized how deep this black market flipping rabbit hole goes. In the past I just took advantage of some of the deals when they presented themselves and kind of saw it as inevitable for people shopping on CAG because you are constantly getting things for cheap. Sometimes the deals are just too good to pass up. I was never the buy 25 of something type of guy but I also don't really see the harm in any of it as long as you aren't doing anything illegal. I realize some people just want a decent deal and don't want to flip\resell but in the end the same rule seems to always apply...early bird gets the worm.

I mean shit most of us do it in one form of another even if it's just the quick "rental" from Best Buy.

FTFY ;)

Sweet this is the first time I've been off early in awhile.  So much time for activities!

Also looks like Motostorm RC complete is $2 now, kind of sucks to the people who bought it on the flash sale,

I don't think it was in the flash sale, I think it was just a permanent price drop. Glad I didn't bite on that. I'll happily pay $2 for that double list auto pop goodness.

Here's a good read on Kickstarter and budgets:
http://www.polygon.com/2015/5/19/8624665/big-indie-kickstarters-are-killing-actual-indies
The article talks about the successful funding goals for big games like Yooka Leelei or whatever Banjo-Kazooie is being called now. It also mentions Bloodstained that Castlevania game and their true budget.

Basically those bigger teams are asking for small amounts in comparison to their actual budgets which are in the millions so that way they get a portion of the funding that's really needed. If they asked for $5 million originally most likely they wouldn't hit the goals. Since they're under reporting their budgets it's skewing the public's idea of actual budgets. When tiny teams of lesser known games ask for a certain amount then they are met with skepticism and are questioned on their budgets because if Game AAA can ask for $200K and make a $5 million game why can't Game B make theirs for much less than what they're asking for?

Is $10 for the AC IV Season Pass a bad deal? I think that would get you the add-on version of Freedom Cry, but I'm not sure if that one's buggy or if the additional content is worthwhile.

NO SLAP.

You get

89 trophies ---- PS4

25 - PS3

25 - VITA

$4/139 = 0.03 per trophy
No I'm saying if I buy the remaining DLC I need individually, it will cost me $4, the same as the you all everybody bundle.

EDIT: nm relaized im missing 5 and it'd cost me $6 for all.. Im dum

Uh-oh. Burnout Paradise's Ultimate Bundle for $6? Will the save file from my physical copy be compatible with the digital version?
No, but that's probably the cheapest way to get all the DLC for a disc copy.

Wow, lots of slappage for folks in this sale. That dynasty warriors gundam game for just the base game was like $16 in the golden week sale, now its $9 for the complete bundle with all the DLC the bundle is only the DLC apparently, gotta love misleading titles. I'm definitely getting that and maybe sound shapes. I think I'm never buying the digital version of the vanilla version of game on sale ever again unless I have zero interest in the DLC.

I didn't realize people didn't know this. So I guess it's good that the article it out there. It just seems like common sense to me, $300K to make a game like Yooka-Laylee is obviously impossible.

I don't think developers are being as intentionally misleading or "underreporting their budgets" as that writer suggests, but maybe they should make sure to clarify right on the KS page that they're only asking for a percentage of their total budget via Kickstarter.

Hold on--are you sure that DWG bundle isn't just bundling all the DLC together? That's what it sounds like, plus its usual price is $29.99 while the game alone is $39.99.

As for Burnout...darn, I was afraid of that. At least I earned most of the online trophies already, and I don't think I made too much progress otherwise.

Ahh you're right, never mind. Hopes deleted.
