I have a hipsterish friend in NYC who's a lawyer that I've seen talking about PBR on Facebook. But in his house he had a keg of Yuengling when I visited last year. Maybe that's the new hipster beer? Anyway, he's got pinball in his house too, so he's alright!
Oh God, pinball went hipster.

My energy drink of choice is usually the Mountain Dew Amp.  Great flavor and strong like the others.  Now I usually get a Kickstart every morning.  Unless I'm only going on a few hours sleep, then I try to get a Rockstar Fruit Punch thing because no Amp at work convenience store and it's the least energy drinky tasting energy drink there.  The Hard Rock energy drinks also make a pretty good fruit punch one.

I fear I'm building up an immunity to caffeine though.

Also yesterday I had a Dewshine, which is clear citrus Mountain Dew in a glass bottle.  Didn't really taste like anything, but went down nice and smooth.  Probably be really good with booze mixed in.

PS Plus announcement should be tomorrow

Psyonix (developer of Rocket League) also has a "big announcement" this week, which could be related. Of course that is just speculation, they are one week from launch so obviously their big announcement could be about anything. But it's more fun to get carried away with speculation.

Of course they skip announcing the lineup on Tuesday this time since I happen to have the day off.

I know, I know--they never promised to always announce it on Tuesdays.

First beer I think I had was probably a bud light at a cousins wedding.  I thought it was gross and thought I'd never drink beer again.  If I was getting drunk it would be on fruit juice tasting shit like Malibu and pineapple juice.

Then I went to a friends party in high school and had a Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss, and thought this isn't all bad (had Zima w/ Jolly Ranchers at the bottom too that night because a hot girl sat on my lap and gave them to me).

Stuck mainly to Miller & Leinenkugels stuff after that because On Wisconsin, but I'm much more "craft" beer now when I'm out or buying for myself.

In conclusion, beer is an acquired taste and coffee sucks.

Did you guys ever try Sparxx when it had 8% alcohol and all the caffeine and taurine?  That was THE BEST DRINK EVER.  Then people started complaining/dying and they had to take it off shelves.  fuck ing idiots that had to go drink more than they can handle and dying!

So the guy from Vlambeer is talking with some dude from a something called Hot Pepper gaming (where they eat peppers then talk about games) and the Shu Yoshida from Sony jumps in and eats one too. Kinda funny.

I'm sure my first beer was a nat light or some such crap.  I didn't start drinking until I was 19 but it became a pretty big problem for me - I think that I was probably at least mildly to decently drunk 5-7 nights a week for nearly 2 years (ironically right until I hit my 21st birthday where a girl stuck her tongue down my ear and felt me up under the table and then went back to make out with her boyfriend).  this is probably something some number of kids that age do (?), but my health problems kicked in not too long after that (wonder why) and I was sidelined from drinking for years which was lucky for me as I'm sure I would've been dead by car or drink if it hadn't happened.

Same with that Ephedra stuff.

I like Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy. Picked some up last year on a whim and was delighted by it.

I guess it was spelled Sparks. I liked the plus in the black can the best.

fuck ing hipsters in SF!

In September 2008, the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit watchdog and consumer advocacy group, sued MillerCoors, claiming that its Sparks alcoholic beverages that include caffeine are a health hazard.[6] Three months later, at the behest of San Francisco and 13 states, distributor MillerCoors LLC announced it would remove the caffeine from its Sparks line of energy drinks, and would change its marketing campaign.[7] "We're doing it to protect the public health of our young people and to reform business practices," said S.F. City Attorney Dennis Herrera.[8]

It's a good refresher when it's really hot, but I can't drink too many at once. Have to go back to regular beers.

People like to mix the Summer Shandy with the Berry Weiss because it makes a kind of pink lemonade thing.

They also mix Honey Weiss and Berry Weiss and call it an Honey Bear.

They also mix the Summer Shandy with the Honey Weiss I think to make some other supposedly good conncoction.

There's a whole sub-culture of mixing their beers together:

Dunderbaks has a sign outside the bar and one of the items on it says "we will NOT mix beers" so dont ask or you will be shot.  Or something similar.

Speaking of mixing beers, one restaurant by me does a beer mix called an Adam's Apple.  Sam Adams mixed with Apple Ale, it's actually really good and refreshing.

People that frequent Dunderbaks is not exactly the Leinenkugel's core customer base :)

With that said, a lot of people are getting into mixing these days. I know some friends who swear by mixing an Imperial Stout with a pumpkin beer every year in the fall. I have never been interested since it just seems like something that would be difficult to repeat.

Only beer I ever mix is Guinness and Blue moon to make Black and Blue.  Looks cool when done right but I don't really enjoy it as much since I'm not a fan of Guinness.

Yea the same restaurant does about 4 mixtures. But like you said, each one tastes slightly different because it is hard to perfect the exact amount of each. Otherwise it tastes pretty good.

I love a good Guinness. I like Bass too so I get a Black and Tan on occasion. I went to this bar once and ordered a Black and Tan and instead of Bass they used Seirra Nevada. It was so gross I almost :puke: in the bar. I told the bartender WTF and they said they didn't have Bass for the drink. Just tell me you don't have any and I'd just drink a Guinness.

That is one awful bartender if they thought they could do that substitution. English Pale Ale does not even come close to the taste of an American one. Even as a hop lover that sounds god awful.

Guinness always looked really pretty to me when they pour it right and it does it's little thing that it does, but I could never bring myself to actually drink one.

The best part of liking Guinness a lot is I'd go to a friends house and bring a couple 4 packs. I'd always leave the extras in the fridge and they'd still be there the following week. I told him they can help themselves to the Guinness and they all said they rather drink their cheap beer.

Less pigs more corn!

Guinness is funny cause it looks so heavy but it really isnt.  It really doesnt have a strong overbearing flavor either yet people that dont drink it always say its heavy or too strong tasting.

My beer knowledge is lacking compared to the rest of the thread. When that bartender tried to pass that off I was pissed. Did they think I wouldn't be able to taste the difference? Some people live in a dream bubble all day, everyday. I know if Gator was the bartender that shit wouldn't happen.

This morning began the grind of all side missions and riddler trophies....  not to mention unlocking all the AR challenges and trying to complete....  :wall:

Guinness legit tastes like biting into a tree.

I have them once in a while with Irish car bombs but I would never just drink a Guinness. Super overrated.

Doesn't taste like coffee though. Not at all.

I went to a party years ago and brought 8 cans of Guinness Draught. I put them in the fridge and this guy asked if he could have one. I told him he can have a few since nobody else there liked Guinness. Well he only had one so I drank the other 7 cans. As I was drinking people would say how nasty Guinness is as they are drinking Bud Light, Tecate, Nat Ice, PBR. One person said your drinking soy sauce which makes no sense as they drank there shit beer. Most people say it's too thick to drink but I find it perfect.

I love a good Boddingtons also.

You should be banned from having Irish car bombs with that comment. I like my Irish car bombs with a full pint because it's so tasty.

I don't disagree. Also, I once decided to give it another shot at a bar and apparently got one that had something slipped in (mickey? rufie? I dunno). All I remember is shivering a lot (even though it was summer), going outside to throw up and I guess I ended up passing out across the street from the bar in a field after drinking most of the pint. I came to hours later and hobbled/crawled my way back across the street to my friends who were all like 'where have you been? you missed a good show.' I haven't been able to look at the stuff since.

I thought Guinness was super coffee flavored?
It actually doesn't have much of a flavor at all honestly. A slight bit of smokiness from the process they use on the malts. The mouthfeel is where it excels but that is all due to the nitrogen. I assume that is why people call it heavy and filling, but I don't get that at all.

I think the Foreign Extra Stout is the best of their line. However, I prefer Lion or Left Hand Fade to Black if I want that style.
