Speaking of Uplay, why does GMG have a page for the South Park sequel but no page for Zombi?  Or do they have some weird anti-uplay for americans thing?

I'm pretty sure we're region locked out of their games. The only ones I can see are Far Cry 3, 4, Might and Magic VII, and Rayman Origins for Mac. Everything else shows up as "coming soon" and most of the games you'd expect simply do not appear.

You mean I have to buy that shit in America and pay with American dollars? I know someone mentioned Nuuvem but I would be afraid it is region locked?

Edit:

G2A has it now for $17. So I guess it really must be region locked. Grumble grumble grumble.

Damn, someone wanted $1 for a $3 normal price game that's been Gala'd. Steamtrades, you so crazy!

I see the game in Nuuvem and it doesn't appear to be locked. If it was then I wouldn't be able to see it. You should ask other people who've gambled on the game there. :p

Edit:

"I bought it last night and there is no region lock. Activated from germany without any problems."

And if it works in Germany of all places...

I didn't have luck with AWS but, luckily, my wife became interested in watching shows on BBC.com (.co.uk?) so we got a VPN ... "for her" so she could get access.

Really, it pretty much was for her since Nuuvem's summer sale was a snoozer.

So what's so great about this Zombi game?  Always skeptical of Ubi published titles developer by third party studios.  Especially when they're put at $20.  There was that other post-apocalyptic game they published... can't remember the name but it had like five hours of content or something laughable.

Nothing is special about it, Cheaplikeafox just collects Zombi(e) games like Nitrosmob collects Rpgmaker crap or I collect Hidden Object Grandma games.

ZombiU was cool because it was a WiiU exclusive. Now it's just a linear tense zombie bashing game that's still better than Dead Island ever could hope to be.

Wife couldn't stop playing ZombiU for awhile. It's not bad. Never really drew me in, but not a bad game to sit and play with her.

Question: For any of you who do trades with Steam Wallet funds, what are good non-commodity items to use for this purpose now?

For those who don't know - Back when things were non-commodity you could more easily find/buy/sell things that let you pick out the specific seller directly. (Example). So you could agree on a price for your Steam gift/key/whatever, the seller puts up the item for said price + Valve fees and buyer buys direct, wallet funds go where they should. A little risky but it works.

For most listings now, almost everything is "commodity" meaning you make buy and sell "orders" but can't choose the individual seller, which means it can't be used for wallet trades.

Felt like this was a lot easier just a few months ago...

It really depends on how much regular RAM your game's eating up + what settings you have the game at.

Probably going to depend from game-to-game on how much regular RAM you need.

Regular RAM + VRAM Talk

Before I switched video-cards and only had that 1 GB 560 Ti VRAM card, having more RAM card on RAM-hog games did help me specifically with X Rebirth (i.e. big open-world in space, lots of action + special effects; ships everyone attacking each other; big stations out in the middle of nowhere; etc). It never felt super-optimized either, BTW.

It just performed better w/ more regular RAM, when I switched from 8GB RAM to 16GB RAM, even w/ that same video-card (1 GB 560 Ti). X Rebirth recommends 8 GB of regular RAM, BTW. I'd guess at that time that my old vid-card might've also been bottle-necking performance for that game - that game recommended at least a 500 series video-card, while everything else I had was ahead by a mile.

I haven't tried that game w/ my 4GB 960 VRAM card + 16 GB regular RAM. Probably worth me checking out sometime.

A suggestion, if you're curious about VRAM + regular RAM usage:

If you're that curious - run MSI Afterburner (or EVGA Precision X, or any programs like it) & just enable for your On Screen Display with both your regular RAM usage + VRAM usage. See what RAM amounts they're both eating up for whatever games you please. [shrug]

I'm bored with VRAM talk. It's boring. Talk about something else. I'm almost tempted to report future VRAM posts for being off-topic. Even Tebow's shitposting at least had boobs.

To follow up on the Darkest Dungeon chat from earlier this week, there's a pretty handy discussion about it here:

http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/08/darkest-dungeon-and-the-perils-of-early-access/

It's still hard to tell which side is whining the loudest but the comment section alone tells you all you need to know.

My recommendation stands: buy and play for 90 minutes to satisfy your curiosity, and refund it if you don't like where it's going. I'm sure it'll be a fine game come release time, it just seems a little futile to get too heavily invested in it as thing stand.

The trade requests to a specific individual are probably a better route to go for your purposes. Of course that means finding a forum somewhere that people are posting what they have (and hopefully) what they want.

Hey Bros,

Tonight we'll be playing Terraria.  It's a game about what the world would be like if we took Minecraft, flattened it, and replaced voxels with sprites.  Truly Terrafying!

Anyway, come join us bros.  One of us!

Also, I played like 5 minutes of Zombi and it is everything I dreamed of and more.

Aw. Tonight? I probably won't be back in time. Hopefully this game makes a repeat appearance.

How many players can the game handle? And will you be playing in permadeath mode?

I'm in for Terraria.  Maybe I can make myself some pants.  Man, I haven't played Terraria since the olden days when killing Skeletron was as good as it got.  From my limited experience in Bro-playing, it's pretty casual dicking around so I'd assume no permadeath.

I also only played a little Zombi last night before I fell asleep for five hours on the couch (presumably not related).  It seemed pretty good except that there are no graphic quality options which I find pretty annoying.  The game looks like it has promise but I won't know until I'm out of the tutorial-style beginning.

Graphics Options/Settings Talk via NVidia/AMD Panel & Other Thoughts

Are you getting good in-game performance/very stable performance?

(i.e. solid 30 FPS or 60 FPS no matter what).

If "yes" - did you also try setting your NVidia Panel or AMD Panel and turning everything there way up?

If your card can handle it, try stuff via NVidia or AMD Panel. Enhanced Your AA (i.e. that uses in-game AA + whatever other NVidia AA as a mixture); throw up higher NVidia (or AMD) settings for AA stuff (MFAA, MSAA, TXAA, whatever) & throw the multiplier up; set Texture Filtering Up to higher settings; & any things of that sort. Sometimes, just that stuff alone can be enough to drastically improve how things look for you.

At your own risk - you might also want to think about injecting SweetFX or something along that sort. I haven't tried it on any games - but, there's another idea.
