After fooling around with the new collection for an hour or so I think I've only played 3 out of the 6 so I'm pretty excited to (try to) play through all of them. I'm completely amazed by the shit they used to get away with - I tuned in to tyler's stream for a minute right when he was doing the insta-kill laser beam section where you drop vertically down a platform filled shaft. that tiny section is designed for a.) repetition and b.) to screw you if you make mistakes. I thought 'I remember that part - it's definitely the worst part of megaman!' And then I started playing the remix challenges and was quickly reminded how wrong I was. Even the little things - like how in sections of the airman level they put giant clouds in the foreground to block your view of moving platforms or egg/mini-bird bombs.
I'm sorry but the correct answer for "worst part of Mega Man games" is the disappearing-reappearing long block sections they put in every game.

(unless you have the Rush upgrade to pass them cheaply of course)

Speaking of a Blue Bomber, you're all not worthy of my new toy!

Haha, not quite as sparkly without light constantly shining on it. But I understand if you don't like the bowling ball look.
Yeah I am a fan of the matte finish more so than sparkly or shiny. I would love for my next car to be a high end sports car like a GTR in matte black like the one I saw the other day. fuck that was a sweet ride.

Yeah I like the Vita but the PSP vibrant blue was better in my opinion.

Burger King to McDonald's: Let's make a McWhopper

Burger King says it's calling for a truce with McDonald's so that they can create a mashup of their most famous burgers the Big Mac and the Whopper.

to serve the concoction for a single day somewhere in Atlanta, a midway point between the headquarters of the two chains.

I'd rather just buy a Big Mac and Whopper at the ones next to each other near me and do it myself.

Too bad that's not the unquestionably superior Vita-2000 model.
Yeah I have a white 2000 slim from Japan and my current burner a black US slim. I have 4 Vitas currently 2 OLEDS and 2 SLIMS. I've decided I'm crazy. I didn't think I'd like the slim as much but it's really comfortable.

In high school me and my friend would always get stoned and go make a double mc chicken burger. Get a double cheeseburger and mcchicken off of the dollar menu, then stick the whole mcchicken sandwich between the two patties on the double cheeseburger. It tasted awesome, but probably ended up taking a few years off of my life expectancy.

So I guess the Misadventures of Tron Bonne is another Mega Man Legends game (but Mega Man less)? That explains why people were excited when it was on sale, that and it is is one of the most expensive games to buy on PS1 disc.

I keep staring at the Mega Man Legacy Collection page.
Same here. I have the games across 4 consoles (and the PSP) but with all the purchases I've been making, I wish there was a "Buy X amount in games, get a gift card" promotion to save more on it.

Then again I have that 20% off code that was packaged with my PS4.

Also wondering if I should buy the Ninja Gaiden games digitally. I finally found a computer shop that sounds like they are competent enough to fix my PS3 (i.e. want to get it done the same day instead of weeks with "the risk of wiping the hard drive").

And should I get Grim Fandango?

Why is Back to Bed $20?
#promnight?

Full video from the gunman in that reporter shooting.
Holy shit, that's so creepy. I find it bizarre that the lady talking didn't see him pointing the gun the first time. Seems like he would've been in her line of sight.

Along with the Super Mario Maker bundle, I plan to get Shovel Knight on Wii U.  What a great way to return to playing Nintendo games.

BTW, is the Nintendo version of Shovel Knight getting anything extra?  I started the second quest on PS4 and haven't found Kratos yet.

Yeah that video is so weird. He was like standing there for 20 seconds with a gun out and nobody noticed.

Assuming the info being released is correct, he was a journalist there too and there are even pics of him when he was on air. And yeah, everything I'm seeing says he offed himself a few mins ago.

I keep debating this. I'd like to play the game because I never have, it's a super easy plat and kind of a revered piece of computer game history. I don't think it'll be on ps+ since double fine has a relatively small catalog with nothing to promote on the horizon, but I think costume quest was in one month so they're not completely against it.

Then I remember that if it hits $6 once, it'll hit it again and I have plenty of other crap to play. It's not going anywhere.

They're reporting he shot himself, but that he's still alive, in "very critical" condition.

Looking like the guy shot himself (according to that twitter tyler linked earlier). Why can't these dumb motherfuckers just do that in the first place?
I would prefer he rots in jail for the rest of his long life with all the abuse and pain that goes along with it.

Youtube pulled that video.

But yea he walks up with the gun out and if you watch the report she looks over toward him before he pulls out the gun and then goes back to the interview. Pretty odd. She obviously knew the guy so maybe why she didnt pay him any attention

The general manager of the station is on that station now. Really interesting. What a weird place for them to be in. Reporting on two colleagues murdered by a former 3rd colleague...

Pretty sure he meant before shooting the other people.
I wonder what happens with people once they're set on killing someone - do they think past that moment at all? like do they decide to kill themselves after or do they just picture themselves stocking the shelves at kmart a month later and going home to watch law and order?

I never know how to feel about this. Like, if he dies he saves the taxpayers money and probably a lot of rehashed grief for family and friends during the trial and shit. If he lives he will certainly suffer more but also becomes an infamous media spectacle. Also I don't get any joy out of wishing suffering on anyone, it's a shitty feeling to have such negative feelings towards anyone or anything, whether they are deserved or not.

The local ABC news there received a 23 page fax from a Bryce Williams which is alleged to be a manifesto that they turned over to investigators. Then he sued for racism at some station in Florida and had some personal issues with the two he shot.

Who witnessed what? I didnt think anyone else was there besides the interviewee, interviewer and cameraman. But yeah they all had things going on with others at the station. They did see his face on the newscast but even with just his face how would authorities know who the guy is unless someone called them to say they knew him or...

He could have had a thing with the news woman. Wonder if it will come out that the dude was jealous the news woman was engaged. Maybe she had an affair with the shooter and called it off and he got pissed?

Or he is just a crazy person.
He's crazy. No doubt about that. The other stuff is just bullshit to try to rationalize his actions to provide justification. There's no justification for just walking up and shooting people. He's crazy.
So he was even a coward with how he tried to kill himself then.
Too bad he failed.

I updated Mpaullin's trophy card so I could see how far he is in Galak-Z
Still working on episode 3, though I haven't had the opportunity to put a lot of time in these past few days. Got to the boss last night. Am I supposed to try and kill it or just run away with the star map thing?

Still really liking it, I just haven't had good luck with my pickups these last few runs. Since there are more enemies that take a lot of hits, it seems like the best strategy is to sneak around a bit and try and find upgrades, but I wasn't getting many good ones (made it to 3-5 without finding a single laser upgrade). If you get a few good upgrades at the beginning it makes life much easier because you can kill just about everyone you come across and farm salvage to get even stronger. Even when the odds are against me, it's still awesome.

Seems like I need to get better with the mech. I've been shooting mostly, but since some enemies take a ton of bullets I've been finding it's good to pick them up, swipe a few times, then throw them.

You beat it, right? (well episode 4 anyway).

So it took me an extra hour to get to work this morning because we had our own little drama here in Tennessee. I drive from Nashville up to Gallatin for work every day, and between the two is Hendersonville, which is where this happened. Last night at 11pm the cops were called because a guy was standing on one of the overpasses for the road everybody uses to get to/from Gallatin. Cops get there, guy says he has a gun in his pocket. Cop calls for backup, 3 more cops show up. The guy pulled the gun and the original cop shot him in the leg. The guy fell off the overpass bridge and was taken to the hospital (he died.)

The road over there just got reopened. I guess they're going over everything very carefully with all the police issues that have been going on lately.

who said anything about justification? You have just been Therm'd.

Anyway I was just trying to come up with reasons why this guy chose these people to kill. Very rare are the killers that kill randomly. And it turns out he had a reason or reasons. Crazy as they were. Cause we do agree people shooting others makes them crazy.

Also that killers video proves what I have always been saying.

Women have absolutely no peripheral vision. How the fuck did the lady being interviewed not see that guy walking up with gun out. You have to see something strange and at least look over for gods sake.

The reporter might have been able to see him too but the angle wasn't as good. Still though wouldn't it be weird anyone else is there and walking up to them at that time? Yes!!!

Big macs with the burger patties replaced with chicken patties are pretty good, too. But only worth it when they had big macs for really cheap.

You just run away from him I think.

I suck with the mech. A lot of people say he's overpowered but I can't do anything useful with him. Since you have to get so much closer to the enemies, I just end up getting hit a lot. I almost exclusively use the ship. Maybe that was my problem?

No I didn't beat it. I died at the boss on 3-5 a few times then called it good. The game is like the absolute opposite of a great roguelike like Spleunky. Both games are super tough, but in Spelunky if you die late in the game you lose maybe 20-30 minutes and your next run is sure to have a lot of different things in it. In Galak-Z if you lose in the last level you lose more than an hour of progress and your next run is going to be almost exactly the same, the only thing different at all is which upgrades you get, though a lot of those are even very similar.

I think the game would have been better if they cut out the roguelike part of the game. I spent a lot of hours in Episode 3 that just feel like a waste of time now. The combat is fun, but many of the encounters start to get very similar as you play them over and over and over again.
