hell of an effort, you tore through that 10k gap in like 2 weeks. do you even remember anything you played or is it just a giant trophy-ding filled blur?
Well I've been meaning to play Life is strange, until dawn, and finish up Under defeat ever since I played Jamestown but all the other games were shit (Parfait, walking dead, super exploding zoo). I beat like 15 games this last month. Most of them good, the few very much pieces of shit. After playing walking dead I just want to shoot myself so I can never play another telltale game again. So I just game my roommate a taco bell burrito and he finished ti for me.

EDIT: It says here on TT I got 32k points in 40 days.

Just looked through my Vita/PSP/PS1 games collection. Not much stealth to be had on the Vita, is there? Sly, Stealth Bastard, and the MGS games (kinda.)

So after all that complaining about Metal Gear...I have the collectors edition being delivered from Best Buy this morning.

For the life of me I dont remember ordering this nor know why I would even have put it in my cart to mistakenly order it.

Did Best Buy send me a free game?

No way, I am never that lucky.
HAHA BITCH

So much to blather about!

- I would totally buy that 3ds colored vita if I had vig-tier credit. After using the crystal white one that black bezel is a necessity to me. There's a reason most tvs have black bezels - everything else looks like ass.

- Capcom continuing to do things that are not bad. Physical release of re hd 0/1 for a $40 price tag + extra stuff? Cool. I'll library the ass off that thing.

- I want to like rack n ruin and I'll probably pick it up someday but watching tyler play made it look like it was just a pain in the ass to progress.

- there's a new guy? weird ass!

- zimm: I made a ton of progress in omega quintet and I'm approaching the end. My biggest complaint right now is that every fight you have to setup the big aoe/combo attacks - you never get strong enough to just mash X and get through the minions. at least my ass hasn't yet.

Tuesday! fuck yeah!
Now that I'm on new medication I'm not overly sensitive. Come at me. I promise in return I'll give you a Z list inside joke that only I understand.

what happened here at the end of your post??

telltale games are probably all terrible. the subject matter is good and the story telling is good (for twd at least) but playing the games is suuuch a chooooorrrre. I'd rather watch the whole thing on youtube.

until dawn though, I'm interested in that. I've watched a few videos and it looks like a really well done choose your own adventure book. sound about right?

edit - somehow I forgot to check the library's new buys yesterday so I missed until dawn and now I'm 10th in line to get it. my life is awful and full of tragedy that is caused only by others!

I don't even know.

Well in a way it is similar to Telltales games but I just liked the story a lot more and the voice acting was done really well.
Characters dies but the plot generally stays the same

The second playthrough started to become a chore and so were the collectibles but at least you got a cool insight after collecting them.

Beat the first four Mega Mans. That's enough for me for now. I'm wondering if I had ever actually beaten the first one. I didn't remember some of the Wily levels at all and a couple of them were a huge bitch.
Two is when it caught on big so a lot of people never played 1 unless they played it on the previous MM collection for PS2 / GC.

THIS season? That shows been rotten from the beginning. I stuck through it for a whole season and I just couldn't do it anymore.
I liked the first season although certain things bugged me about it. Season 2 caused me to start tiring of it, but I stuck with it. This season has had me yelling back at the TV about how stupid it was. It was never great, but it has been hot garbage this season. I have essentially kept watching so I could make fun of the stupid shit they do.

Putting down an order for the SF5 CE. May cancel it later.
why are you interested in it? not being snarky, seriously curious what's in it that might be worth it. I think it'll probably be a low print run being console exclusive in a slightly niche genre but I thought it was basically an art book, digital soundtrack and the statue. is there more?

I'm holding out for a slight discount on that Vita, or even another color like the Neon Orange one Japan will be getting:

Post of the day so far. Hatred for Telltale and the last sentence before the edit make it a classic.

I'm all about the Aqua Blue but too bad it is Gamestop only. I might have to start all flipping so I can get it free through CAG math.

Same trajectory I took with the show, except I never got around to starting season 3. From the sounds of it, that was the right move.

I was always bothered by the acting of the two younger teenagers on that show. The one with the moms and the younger brother of other chick. Such bad performances from both of them was hard to overcome. But it was fun watching Dwight Yokem act like a crazy person.

I'm a little over half way through, I think, but Until Dawn really is well done. I'm not sure how replayable it will really be since it will probably hit all of the same story beats no matter what options you choose, but this first playthrough is great fun. Way better than Heavy Rain (haven't played Beyond, but I assume it's better than that too) since the writing/acting isn't awful.

The one thing I really like about Until Dawn over Beyond Two souls is that it didn't drag on.

Another cool thing is that they pretty much matched the faces of all the main characters, not just Hayden. The real life Emily chick is actually super hot, looks to be a white/asian mix.

There you go again, having the completely wrong opinion.
S1 was filled with useless shitheads. The game was more about stumbling along and keeping everybody together. You didn't really have a choice, it seemed like.

S2 definitely has a "Take care of yourself first" theme, but balances it with "You can't do everything yourself." Right from ep1 where Clem has to basically say "fuck you guys" and break out to steal the medical supplies. She's the leader of the group from a mental standpoint and seems to make all the important decisions. On the other hand, it's also clear to show that she's small and not entirely self-reliant. While establishing this, they show Carter who is the logical conclusion (though an asshole) of complete control over a group, and later on Jane is introduced to underline the dangers of looking only after yourself.

I've only played TWD s1 and TWAU from Telltale previously, but so far I like TWD S2 the best because it does have more going on than just a protagonist dealing with a bunch of assholes. It actually feels like they're developing Clementine's character and trying to give a more realistic approach to the reality that not all survivors should have the same value.

Really like that blue vita, the orange one from japan is awesome too though. Dunno if I wanna get rid of my OG vita though

Nichole Bloom.

Yeah, the teenage girl was what bothered me the most. Can you ease up on the emo shit please? There was a period in this season I think where they had her happy and she was not so damn annoying. This coming from the guy who usually can't stand the overly happy people.

Okay, so the MGS5 CE.  I have to assume there was a price error at BB back in March as it appears I "paid" $79.99 instead of the current MSRP of $99.99.  I guess I preordered it just in case.  I completely forgot about it obviously.

Now I need to determine if I want to Ebay it or not.  Looks like some people are asking $175 but with free shipping.  I dont know if its worth the hassle for less than $50 after expenses.

Aren't you a GCU member? That's the after-GCU price.

Dont be mad. I can sell you this one if you missed out on the CE. MSRP is only $100 so I will give it to you for the low low CAG price of $149.99.

Plus shipping. That big box wont ship itself you know.
No, I'll sell you MINE because I know someone that has such a hard on for MGS like yourself will want to keep one sealed. Besides, that metal hand probably doesn't clean off that easy and it'll eventually get too crusty to perform your dark deeds. When that time comes you'll be happy you bought a spare!

Vig (or anyone else that's played all the MGSs), should I catch up on the youtube movies of Peace Walker and Rising before diving into Phantom Pain? Haven't played either of those and wouldn't mind putting off playing the new one for a couple of days if it mattered. I know chronologically Rising takes place last so I can probably wait on that one but Peace Walker takes place right before it.

Peace Walker - Yes, definitely. You might want to watch the (very short, IIRC) movie for Ground Zeroes while you're at it.

Rising - Not necessary.

I'm sure you bought it just hoping that Best Buy canceled it and gave you a "we're sorry" gift card.

Definitely hilarious.

Also, you guys should absolutely pick up Rack N Ruin if it's ever on sale again (or even if it's not). It's like Link to the Past with shmup battle mechanics.

Trophy requirements are pretty brutal, though, and guides are scarce.
The game was alright but to obscure to be a ton of fun. Also kinda frustrating. I don't know how much the patch fixed, but probably a lot. I know it nerfed the hell out of the difficulty.

And yeah, I saw there's finally a guide for it on PST. Sounds like lots of missables since you basically trigger each section of the world to transform and you can lock yourself out of stuff really easily.

There are also some splinter cell PSP games, Shinobido 2, maybe counterspy, Ass Creed, the Swindle, Syphon Filters, Manhunt 2.
Already played Ass Creed: Bloodlines. Planning to play one of the Splinter Cell Trilogy HD games this month on PS3, though I wasn't aware there's a PSP title. Looks semi-decent on Vita. Not great, but still playable:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jn_OyzJhmJ0

Syphon Filter PS1 games look like garbage, but Logan's Shadow (PSP) still looks playable. Unfortunately it's not available on its own for Vita; you can only purchase it in a 2-pack with Killzone: Liberation, which I already have. It actually seems to have aged quite well, graphically, so that's a bummer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAJej1yIboc

I didn't know Manhunt 2 was on PSP, either. It also looks like it has aged well enough, but that all the weird garbage filters for static and the like have not held up well. Is the whole game like this?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PqAJMkatFI

Those and The Swindle are a bit too much for my tastes, but I'll keep an eye out for sales of all four.

Counterspy I'd just plain forgotten about. I'll definitely give that a try this month. I also just bought Shinobido 2 Sunday at GS for $6.99 (real copy, too!) and will be playing that this month as well.

Polygon gave Mad Max a 5, in case anyone pays attention to them.
and IGN gave it an 8.5... the reviews are either good or bad, it's super weird!
Reading a couple reviews including the IGN and another middle of the road review the game is exactly what I was expecting and like so I am still looking forward to it.

The IGN guy liked the combat enough to look past the dumb non existent plot and monotonous gameplay whereas most of the others seem to harp on it. Either way I will be playing tonight and for the next week or two.

Ill post a non bIAsed review in a few days.
