For those like me that ordered the Uncharted CE already, you can go back and make changes to your shipping instead of re-ordering.

Considering these things oversell, and aren't up for long at Best Buy, I hate cancelling my existing order with them in order to make a new one.
It didn't fix the shipping charges on my orders, so I canceled and re-ordered them.

order status > order details > make changes > change my shipping speed > select Standard shipping > update order.

wait a few seconds and refresh the order page.  the shipping is now free.

Nice, so glad I checked CAG just now... Probably would have missed it otherwise. Now to figure out if I actually want it. I know Uncharted 4 is gonna be an awesome game but the CE extras don't seem that great for $60 more. That and I wish they would have done something different than a statue since we already got a statue for UC3.

If you don't mind me asking, what was wrong with your consoles?
For me, the disc drive was/is the problem. When I sent my PS4 in, it was spontaneously ejecting discs from its drive. Sometimes it happened while I was playing a game, sometimes it happened in sleep mode, powering the console on in the process. Whenever it did happen, the console would no longer accept any discs, and the disc drive would make intermittent grinding noises until the console was rebooted. The console wouldn't power down normally when this was happening either, though, I would have to physically unplug it to get it to power down.

When Sony sent my PS4 back to me, they sent me a different refurbished console, not the one I sent in. The replacement console is starting to not recognize discs when I change them to play different games. The problem is solved with a normal reboot, so it's not as much of a nuisance as the initial problem was, but it's becoming annoying because it's happening more and more often.

Got in my preorder at Best Buy. It charged me for shipping too despite elite status. This happened with Tales of Zestiria too. Luckily I was able to preorder/cancel once the issue was fixed. I'd recommend to get your order in now and they can fix it later for sure.
mine showed up as free.

I had to send my white one in for HDMI port failure a month ago, but I still decided to take a chance with the mgs console

That sucks to hear. Remember that if you purchased your PS4 with a credit card, most cc companies offer an extended 1 year purchase from the manufacturing warranty. So if you bought a launch console from 11/2013 Sony is supposed to cover you through 11/2014 claims. If you paid with a cc, Discover (for example) would cover you from 11/2014 - 11/2015. So it seems like to me, you have a certified claim to get your money back from your cc company. They would not furnish you a new console, they would simply pay you back (up to however much you paid with your card). Now whether they consider your refurb console as a sufficient claim is a good question (since the serial number would not match your original receipt).

If you bought it a certain place like Costco, even though their electronics return policy is only good for 90 days, I've read stories where people had no problem returning their last gen consoles even to this day. Their customer service is supposed to be very flexible apparently.

The first problem you are explaining is why Sony redesigned the face buttons on the PS4 to be mechanical and also the console to be cooler when in use. Apparently on the older versions of the console (I never experienced this myself but did hear stories), panels on the console would expand when they got hot and in turn trigger the pressure sensitive switch for the eject button, which is why Sony changed those face buttons to be mechanical (my MGSV console has these) and it solved the problem.

The second issue I have never heard of.

Just a little insight for you in case you were curious.

This kind of stuff is why I don't do console "Editions". Having one die on me and having a slim chance of getting it replaced with the same version sounds frustrating. The only time I've gone off the rails is for the Star Wars 360, and I'm terrified it will die one day.

Anyone else surprised there is no special/collectors edition of Forza 6?
Not really. Horizon 2 didn't have a special edition either so I wasn't expecting anything with this iteration. To be completely honest, the CE of Forza games weren't that good. Forza 4 had those cool valve stem caps that I actually utilized on my car but other than that, I was never really impressed.

And since we're on the topic, just became a CAGiversary two days ago :D/
Happy CAGiversary Rick!

Better than that dumbass anigif you're known for (queue that dumbass anigif you're known for :D ).

The SB case from FMS5 was VERY nice, so nice I wanted it even though I have the game digital. And then it was gone. :(

Every time I see mention of this line group thing, it sounds like some awful place where everyone is fighting over bags of crack or something.

Seems like an accurate metaphor.
Believe it or not, it was actually really cool and helpful before people started getting removed for no good reason.

I don't think the person doing the removing has ever even posted a deal in that chat.

I can't see the CE doing that well. It's $50 more than the already pretty bare-bones SE - just for a pretty dire-looking statue of Drake not doing anything (and it doesn't even look like Drake!).

I'm a sucker for CEs, but I'm really passing on both the SE and CE (neither even include the DLC, for goodness sake!). $48 after GCU for the regular edition - in.

The statue version has DLC, but its kinda weak, just some MP skins. I think $65 for the SE is a good deal though, especially if it gets added to the pre-order $10 promotion.

DLC skins - right. Nobody cares (except that one person). I mean the DLC story content - that's confirmed to come after the game ships.

Hmmm... I ordered Uncharted from BB but for some reason my saved shipping address on my account was deleted. I had to enter it and save it again.

Kinda weird...

I had the same disc eject issue. You have to take off the hard drive top plate, get a super skinny phillips head screwdriver, and turn this tiny screw inside one half turn in one direction.

When that screw is turned one way, clockwise I believe, it causes manual disc ejection. But if you turn it in the other direction it should stop spitting out discs intermittently. It worked for me. I was really upset and flustered until I found the fix. I had the exact same issue you have described with a day1 PS4. I nearly left it for dead, it was so aggravating. But it's good as new now after the fix.

It is impossible to tighten that screw. It just spins. and it's delicate, so you have to be careful.

I'm kind of hoping that the Naughty Dog points can be used to buy the MP map packs. All it says is "multiplayer content" in the explanation post. I'm guessing it's cosmetic, but they would pleasantly surprise me if they proved me wrong.

So, the CE = SE + statue + MP skins for another $40?

Do I have that right?

EDIT: Swapped CE and SE. Duh.

The main culprit is are PS4's panels expanding due to the console getting hot and in turn triggering the touch sensitive face buttons on the earlier models of the console as I mentioned earlier in the thread. The screw trick has nothing to do with it and although people have "claimed" it fixed the issue, more often than not those same people have come back and said their console has started to randomly eject discs again shortly after performing the screw fix.

You're wrong. The main issue for most people is the screw. Hence the constant recurring grinding noise of the disc drive trying to spit out the disc, for both him and me.

I can't see the UC4:CE selling out because it isn't exclusive to any store like the TLoU Post-Pandemic.

Also, it looks like the statue was purposely posed in a manner to make the box-size smaller.

You're wrong. The main issue for most people is the screw. Hence the constant recurring grinding noise of the disk drive trying to spit out the disc, for both him and me.
I misread the original post and overlooked the grinding noise he mentioned. For that your fix is the correct one. In terms of just the disc ejecting, then most likely it is cause by what I mentioned. We were both right, just you were correct for his case and I was not.
