This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

I'm just going to reiterate that if you love classic RTS action, these are two great games. The fact that EA tossed in the expansion pack is pretty sweet. If for some reason you don't actually have these by now, get them.

Yeah, Blizzard's been pimping out the first two games like two-dollar whores lately. At this point, I'll probably just wait to grab a physical CE when they hit $30, as at this point it seems they inevitably will. Man, I can't believe that three or four years ago, I shelled out $50 for a Wings of Liberty CE. The Heart of the Swarm one isn't a good deal even on sale, really, because they included all of the good stuff with the first game. Part of me just likes having those comically-oversized boxes around.

I do agree about the cinematics, though. I snagged the Diablo II and Warcraft DVDs off ebay a few years ago. They really have some fantastic CG folks.

I was pretty excited upon reaching "chapter 2" but really, you're mostly done with the game at that point. All that's left are a few unique missions, some decent but highly disjointed cutscenes, and several repeats of the earlier missions with higher difficulty modifiers. Not to mention that an entire 3rd chapter was apparently cut from the game, and "Mission 51" which resolves one of the storylines. There's a rough unfinished version of that mission as a video extra with the collector's edition, but of course you can just watch it on youtube.

It's a shame but MGS V clearly was rushed out the door despite its lengthy development. The focus was definitely on perfecting the gameplay, which most people would say was the right call, but the story and overall structure of the game suffered for it. I know, I know, "MGS stories have always been dumb", but this is probably the first one that feels unfinished.

(And of course, some people aren't even happy with how the gameplay turned out, because internet.)

Still, I spent over 100 hours with the game and it was 30 bucks well spent. I even enjoyed the story - it's really not that bad if you listen to the tapes.

Um, yeah, so? She was naked when the police came, too. Criminalization of nudity is a huge problem in America, considering how much violence we get in comparison. It's a human body, we all fucking have one. We're the only species that wears clothes because anatomy is supposedly inherently sexual. There's apparently no such thing as platonic nudity, so when these kids who are coddled until they hit puberty and their hormones are in overdrive are brought into the light, they go fuck-crazy and have tons of unprotected sex and end up producing more stupid and immature kids who'll do the same thing. Almost all of us saw a naked older person when we were kids, does that mean they were all pedophiles because they were exposed to us?

The whole country is a big fucking psychosexual mess. Oh noez u can see a wimmens nipplez that is so rong! Grow the hell up.

But, I'm 33 hours or so into WWE 2K15 and its MyCareer Mode. I got so much more to say about this game....

...From battling The Shield in a feud and in some 2-on-1 matches; to a Daniel Bryan feud; to getting on Team Orton for Survivor Series; kicking off Team Orton b/c I lost to Orton on Smackdown; acquired by Team Cena; defeating Team Orton at Survivor Series; and even battling John Cena.

I have to say I'm surprised you only found it in you to write one sentence about a wrestling game.

 
I'm on the last stretch of Witcher 3, finally.  Something to be said about long ass games + adult life = beating one game a year or something. 

 

 
I decided at long last I was going to dive into my PC gaming backlog and clear out some more titles so I passed up on the deals on Mad Max and Metal Gear and vowed to play games I already have and want to play.

So naturally I bought a Destiny Taken King PS4 and I am playing Drive Club.  Yep.

Waiting for mine. I am pretty sure they will restock them sooner or later. Happens several times with my Nuveem purchased and they always delivered. I would be more afraid of canceling the deal.
 
Ethan Carter is back on Nuuvem at 66% off (it was 70% off yesterday).  Adding it to cart says it's not available in my country.  Was this the case yesterday as well?

I don't even know what's up with people trying to 100% the game. I'll do what I need to do for the upgrades but I sure as hell ain't driving Dinky-Di out to every god damned mine field just for fun. Even in Jeet's territory I have a handful of scrap locations I haven't explored yet because I'm swimming in the stuff and can't be bothered. Likewise, I'm not scouring the wastelands for every "epic jump" location when the reward is a skill up token and I'm already at Road Warrior+20 with all my skills maxed.

On the other hand, if I drive by a location that looks interesting, I'll certainly jump out and go crack some War Boy skulls and steal their shit but that's on my terms.

If you were one of those still waiting for your Final Fantasy keys from nuuvem.... bad news for you.

Paypal seems to have starting refunding those guys who were waiting still for their keys.

The worst thing of all these.... you will lose money due to currency exchange (Brazilian real is still too low compared with one month ago)

I'm irrationally annoyed about missing it despite making the conscious decision last night to pass on it because I don't have any actual interest in immediately playing it and am trying to work on -- at least -- the AAA/well reviewed portion of my backlog.

But, you know, now that I KNOW I can't have it...

 
Well, for anyone that cares, apparently the Ethan Hawk Horror Game devs are like GAmergaters or something so if you don't hate women, maybe that'll make you feel better about missing out.

Also, just used Steam's refund feature for the first time for Lego Worlds.  Nothing wrong with the game, just didn't really grab me enough to make me feel like the $15 MSRP was worth it.  Steam immediately added a (Pending Refund) amount to my Steam Wallet I can easily see.  New feature?
