So I got fuck ed with my Trials Fusion purchase. The base game and Awesome Max DLC keys activated fine, but the season pass key wouldn't activate (says it's been used by another account). Contacting Ubisoft now, but this sucks.. never had this happen before.
Stahp G2A-ing Trials Fusion. It worked fine for me, so there are no problems with it. Stop spreading libel.

Man, 3(or 4 with Fusion) games I've been waiting to drop in price are all $5 right now: Trials, AC4, and Rayman Legends.

I think I'll wait for Trials to either get bundled or drop below $4 and I think I want Rayman on a console so I'd be more likely to play it with friends.

So that leaves AC4. I've never been able to get into any of the AC games, but 4 looks really cool and different. Only getting a uplay code doesn't bother me too much, but I never end up playing my open-world games, so can't decide if I should get it or not.

Well, I was considering buying the game, but I wasn't sure if 'Awesome MAX' is a definitive edition of the game. Anyway, your trouble saved me time I'd lost on thinking it through. Thanks.

This sudden sale still looks like a trap for me. Hope you all weren't fooled into Season Pass 2 or some other fancy DLC crap.
FWIW it worked just fine for me and it seems most of us (see below). I think Spoder's issue was an unfortunate one off. Ubisoft support should rectify it. Eventually. Like Steam they aren't the quickest but they'll get back to him at some point.

Also, I've not heard anything about any additional DLC. I don't think these guys are known for doing that crap in the same way that, say, 2K is (Borderlands, Civ etc.)

Kinda sounds like you weren't actually waiting for any of those to drop in price.

My advice: stop rationalizing, impulse buy them all, and play some fuck ing video games.

Actually, they did have a season pass and then later released a dlc that wasn't part of the pass. I doubt they'll release anything more moving forward, though.

Fixed.

By the way - did you notice that unless you leave the space between the fuck and the "ing," the whole construction is automagically replaced by ...fucking... the word you were using fuck to cover up.

Anyone know why I can't get Hola to work? Wanted to pick up Shadow of Mordor GOTY if it is indeed <$7 from Putinland GG, but the Russian prices aren't showing up no matter how many times I try it. Worked fine for Endless Legend a couple weeks ago.
Clear all cookies for Gamersgate first and make sure you're logged out. Also make sure hola's working, sometimes it gets wonky so try Google and see if the Russian page shows up.

*Edited to add: If hola is giving you issues you can also try the DotVPN chrome plugin. Probably a good idea to do that anyway since I haven't heard anything shady about them. yet.

I have no shaq-fuing clue what you're talking about.

Awesome, clearing cookies worked. Thank you! DotVPN wasn't letting me sign up, so I just reinstalled Hola and uninstalled it after I was done. The lengths we go to to get deals!

In console pedantry: I got an email from Funstock this morning plugging a NeoGeo handheld, clicking that led me down a road to the 3 in 1, 9 in 1, etc., retro consoles, which I hadn't checked in with in some time. This one at Amazon has pretty good reviews and is dirt cheap. Anyone have any experience with these? I should mention also that my cartridge collection is not as robust as I would like and I would then have to go hunting for many of my favorites I've played through emulators over the years...pretty silly when I already have my PC hooked up to my TV, but you know, nostalgic whims and all that...

I think I like the idea of AC games more than I like playing them, I have AC1, AC2, and Brotherhood, only played about an hour of each... and I'm debating whether I should pick up 4.

If I'm gonna backlog them, might as well have the whole collection, AMIRITE?

The Steam hardware stuff is more interesting at the low end than it is at the high end. Nearly 20% of users are running some sort of Intel integrated graphics and 33% have 1GB VRAM with another 25% having 2GB. The most popular CPU speed is between 2.3GHz and 2.7GHz with a duo-core processor. Less than 25% of users have more than one TB of storage total. Surprisingly, a plurality of users have 8GB RAM.

I use a separate browser for my international dealings just to keep the cookies separate as well. Firefox for my normal usage, Chrome for my cross-border game purchasing.

Ask yourself, have I ever wanted to be a pirate? Yes? Then buy AC4.

I'd imagine a lot of Steam users are like me and have an older machine (laptop, server, etc.) that may not be their primary machine, but still has steam on it for older games. Always need to have a Granny HOG
Dont Google "Granny HOG" with safe search off!
around even on the go (or for the kiddies).  Dont need a heavy rig for that.

I like AC4. I even actually played it for more than 5 minutes. The other ACs I'm kind of meh on but Black Flag I thought was really cool. It's kind of like a Pie-rat Skyram. Like what Risen 2 should have been but really wasn't. To me it's sort of an AC game for people don't really like AC games.

TL;DR

Dem Granny HOGs.

We need a Poopees Granny HOG bundle.

Bundle Sacrifice Review:

Iron Fisticle 80% off $8.99 $1.79

Do you like Smash TV-ish twin stick shooters? How about rogue-like games? Some permanent upgrades after death so that you don't feel like you're totally beating your head against a wall? That's pretty much what this game is.

Verdict:
Fun

./ Trading Cards

./ Potential Bundle Game

Cool, looks like something I might actually play after getting it in a bundle. The problem is all the bundles are so bad lately I'm hardly buying any of them.

Lara Croft Temple of Osiris SUCKS!

Seriously.  Save your money.  The bros are committed to finishing as we are halfway done and I mean we're bros so we always have a good time together, but the game sucks. Like right into the first level we were stuck for like 20 minutes because the game glitched and didn't trigger the next progression despite the fact we'd done the necessary puzzle "solving."

I joked about it being an ARPG, but that's how it plays and I hate those.  This one doesn't have all the sweet loot/upgrades in those though.  It has some loot/upgrades, but nothing super cool.  Also, I had to play it in windowed mode otherwise it would boot me out of the frame and I couldn't see what was going on or it would just go black screen.

I have Steam on my old C2D laptop for idling, and of the two PCs I own, that's always the one that gets the "do you want to participate in our survey" popup.

Bought mine from Funstock for $33.83 after voucher. You can search around to see if there are any other valid vouchers at the moment, they typically have half a dozen active at any moment. Just tried OCT-COUPMAIL-NEW20, which worked (with today's exchange rate making it $33.93).
What the heck?

SteamGifts has been down for quite some time now.
Their isp shut them off without warning because of a suspicious amount of traffic or some crap. Yeah it's called giving free shit away. Apparently they're working to resolve it or get a new isp.

In the meantime there's always Steamgifts crappier red headed stepsister Steamcompanion.com which I swear must have their servers in Uzbekistan or Zimbabwe because that site is always slow as fuck for me.

I can't be assed to mire through the cesspool and deal with the bobbies. Prefer to give my money to faceless corporations. Also, I was already there buying Black Flag and the impulses assumed direct control.

We had to restart from checkpoint at least three times due to glitches and, another three times, trying to exit a level would kick us back into the previous checkpoint. Plus Fox's whole black screen issue. Whatever someone thinks of the game play when it's working, I was surprised at how buggy it was.

I thought AC4 is easily the best AC game since AC2 & AC:BH.

RE-EDITED For Ghost:

While I did like Risen 2, that game has nothing on AC4; not even close.

In some ways, Risen 3 is better than Risen 2 - i.e. for Risen 3, they brought back regular magic & Enhanced Edition graphics for most of the terrain + textures look fantastic provided you have the PC to run it.

In some ways, Risen 3 is still not as good as Risen 2 - i.e. Risen 3 has way too much skill, area & NPC rehashing.

It's hard to say which Risen game that I prefer of the two - for every step forward in Risen 3 takes, there's a step backwards in some other way in that game. I need to finish R3; and then I'll finally decide.

I like both Risen 2 + 3, but neither of them are even close to AC4.

sounds like operation free weekend started with bad choices. Blame it on the liquor.

First rule of CAG

Ignore everything MysterD says....its mostly nonsensical

I know I myself have a hard time ignoring the first rule of CAG but I want to believe there is a more than a fried brain stuck on repeat in that human shell

Good lord, you dopes. I hope you're hassling MysterD just for kicks because it ain't that hard to figure out.

i.e., Risen 3 has some facets it performs better than Risen 2 but, on balance, Risen 2 is the superior title. Granted it could have been written a little clearer but use your noodle.
