All of you solidsnakeing Tales made me do some research. Zestiria has a lot of negative reviews because some kind of bad advertising with one of the characters... But there are also camera issues, most of them during combat.

Besides all that, the game looks amazing and seems to have a real great plot.

Now I want the game too. A friend can gift me the game for less ;)

It's weird how I enjoyed Tales of Graces f more than Tales of Xillia. The combat in ToG f was much more fluid and combos connected better. I couldn't even finish Xillia. Though Xillia story was better, but not by much. The only series I really enjoyed is Symphonia and Vesperia.

I'm just going to wait on Zestiria to be at least half off. 30fps lock a turn off for me.

At this point I just assume every Japanese game is 30fps locked, roll my eyes and live with it. In a turn based more tactical combat game I don't think it's really that huge of a stink for me like it would be for something more twitchy like Dark Souls anyway.

On the other hand it is rather lame, lazy and half assed, not to mention not bothering to research your market at all but we just got them to even notice PC gamers in the west exist so baby steps I guess.

I'm just glad that G4WL is dead (Miclosofto make windozu let's use Miclosofto DRM) and that they don't do some other dumbass shit like 720p lock that you can't change like Square did with FFXIII at release.

For anyone who still has some GMG credit to burn it looks like they've updated their VIP page. These are what I currently see:

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin - $19.99
That price drop is tempting enough to consider. Ever since Madjoki started talking about GMG credit going **poof** I've been looking for a good VIP deal.

I feel like Japanese gaming has really regressed technologically. They were the ones often pushing the 60fps envelope on consoles. Ridge Racers 1 and 2 on PSP are 60fps, for example, and look good to this day.

It's hard and demands co-op play to succeed. Wait for cheap bundling unless you have 2-3 friends to play with.

Boooo. I should admit to myself that I just love coop as a concept, since my days of gathering people to play together locally are far behind me and unlikely to return. Ah well, that's why we collect...

Gee, I'd get Syndicate but I'm afraid that without having played Rogue, Unity, Liberation, Brotherhood, AC3, AC 2 or AC 1, I wouldn't be able to follow the plot.  Or the 2D platformer looking games.  Or the mobile games.  I did play Black Flag until I ran out of open world pirate stuff and the game turned into "Follow these guys for seven minutes as they talk about boring shit and then pretend to be an office drone getting yelled at by management"

I started AC 1 once and was all like "Ok, I'm going to be all Renaissance ninja and shit" and the game was all like "Hey, instead of that, let's stroll along this magic virtual reality beach" and I was like "Nope."

I'd definitely recommend playing AC2 + Brotherhood. Those two and AC4: Black Flag are awesome, IMHO.

AC2 was pretty good and had some of the best "story" moments of the series. In terms of pure gameplay though, Brotherhood was clearly the best. It has all of the good stuff of AC2, added the "whistle to straight smoke fools" mechanic, and was before the 'bullshit-ass wack tower defense' mechanic of AC:R. There were also more "assassinations" with the captains. It was a genuinely fun game to play even if you couldnt be bothered to care about Ezio, Desmond, Abstergo, etc.

Abstergo, etc.
Abstergo is retarded ass.

It's probably telling that no AC commercial ever features "Oh, and it's all pretend virtual reality taking place in an office!" as part of their cinematic TV ad campaigns.

Also, I forgot Revelation in my "never played" list, plus AC3 (which I edited in). Man, there's a shitload of these games, huh?

Let's be fair. Abstergo was at least a somewhat interesting concept when it was first pitched as a vague half-formed idea when they were discussing how to revive Prince of Persia.

It's only gotten worse since then.

If you bought Wolfenstein: The New Order on Steam you may be eligible for the Doom 4 Alpha. They have a "Sign in with Steam" option - I didn't think I'd qualify, since I got the game as a key from GreenManGaming, weeks after the game was released - but I am. I just entered my email address, and if I get picked, I'll be notified. Yay.

Apparently I got a preorder key. Huh.

Sweet, I didn't buy Wolf: TNO from Steam (actually bought from Gamersgate) - but I am eligible. :)
