This thread is starting to seriously derail offtopic. Let's get back to talking about Ark and the new breeding system.

so whats the consensus on what are the good and bad AC games?

Assassins Creed 2, Brotherhood and Black Flag are the only ones worth your time in my opinion

Basically: at least go play AC2, AC:B, and AC4.

Brotherhood.

If you feel the need to play more than one, start with 2.

People like Black Flag, but I gave up on it after an hour realizing that I have played more than enough AC for one lifetime.
I'll co-sign to this general consensus. If you do decide to play AC2 and Brotherhood (as you should), you may find yourself attached to Ezio and want to play AC:R. Resist this urge at all costs! Instead, read a wiki or watch a YouTube. It is a better use of your time, particularly when it comes to the first person platforming sections.

Anybody here own Emergency 5? Apparently it just got purchase disabled (which is likely a prelude to it's removal) and they've released Emergency 2016. Word on the street is, anybody who owns E5 is able to purchase Emergency 2016 for $5.99 (85% Off). Is anybody in a position to verify this?

EDIT: and E5 has now been completely removed.

I think the problem w/ AC: Rev is it's too much of the same and many of the new mission types are "meh" IMHO - i.e. new tower-defense mission type & Gold Edition's Portal-like 1st person puzzles type.

If you're burnt-out w/ AC series before AC: Rev, stay clear of it for a bit. Not much really new, different, or worthwhile there gameplay-wise.

If you are into the whole AC labyrinth of a convoluted story & plot (especially if you played AC1, 2, and AC:B), AC: Rev is worth it just for finishing-up basically both the Ezio and Altair storyline threads.

Ive played most of them (not played most of the mobile titles) up to this point and I have Syndicate pre-ordered (Nvidia thing) so I'll give my opinions on the Ass Creed franchise. Firstly, I enjoy the series a lot and have since the beginning, but they're not all great games.

Ass Creed 1 - Repetitive beyond measure. Story is interesting for the most part, but I don't consider it essential. Its dated now.

Ass Creed 2 - Brotherhood - Revelations - All 3 I enjoyed simply because I liked the character of Ezio. There are some experiments Ubi tried that are haphazard and generally bad (Tower defense in Revelations), but the core gameplay is strong all around. Ass Creed 2 to this date is still the best game on whole of the entire series. These negative experiments (mostly in Revelations) gameplay wise are not enough to write the game out of hand. They're not long and theres not a ton of them. The main gameplay is fine and Ezio's story is worth seeing through.

Ass Creed 3 - This to me is the WORST game in the series. A completely drab main character (Connor), lots of open space with nothing going on and at the time I played, some awful bugs and technological problems. I hate it and will never play it again. That said, I really love the opening of the game and the character you're in control of for that period of time. It also closes the "current day" storyline terribly. Hate it.

Ass Creed Black Flag - Another really strong and IMO must play of the series. One of the best pirate games Ive ever played, tons of stuff to do, looks great, technologically sound. Love it.

Ass Creed Freedom Cry - This is a part of the Black Flag season pass but is also a standalone. Its not bad as it is basically a small version of BF with a distinct storyline, but its not great nor is there a lot to mention in respect to its merits. It can be skipped, but if you enjoy BF, its a worthwhile play.

Ass Creed Liberation - Listing this here although it takes place more in conjunction with Ass Creed 3. Female lead character. I enjoyed this for the location and voice work and the female assassin is a good character. Was originally a Vita game but they did a good job porting it. Treat it like Freedom Cry, but liking 3 isnt a pre-requisite.

Ass Creed Rogue - Listing this before Unity as its takes place in the time frame before it and has a killer tie in to it. This is a game that flips the series on its head storyline wise. If you play this, its worth playing 3, IV, and Freedom Cry before simply because of all the characters in those games that appear in this. Technologically sound, good mix of gameplay of the best of III and IV and interesting spin to the story.

Ass Creed Unity - I enjoyed this but be warned, it does suffer technological issues although I was able to play through it from day one without much problem. The patches since have improved its performance but its not perfect. I enjoyed the story and characters and the recreation of Paris is legitimately stunning in terms of detail and if you've been there its incredible. I also enjoyed quite a few of the main story missions. The DLC add on (Dead Kings) is boring as fuck though. My biggest knock against Unity besides tech is lead characters that are French having ridiculous British accents.

Ass Creed Chronicles China - The first of 3 planned 2.5D games. I enjoyed it. I loved the China setting/artwork, and I enjoyed the gameplay, however it wants to be Mark of the Ninja so bad and the comparisons cannot be avoided if you've played it. Not great, but good and fun. Wait for it to be super cheap.

Assassin's Creed Pirates (the mobile app) is kinda fun. It's all simplified naval combat with touch screen controls and tells about the Black Flag backstory. The graphics are PS2-Xbox quality, which is nice for a mobile game. It's decent for when you're on the toilet making Groupees bundles. Get the cracked version apk if you want it play it, since it's a microtransaction game and everything takes resources and you won't get to enjoy the story if you have to wait for stupid bonuses every day.

So they have a Cosmos II case at the local Goodwill here, but they want $180 for it. It's a steal at that price, but still it's Goodwill so I was hoping for like $10. Lady says they will let it go for $80 which is an even bigger deal. Thing is super huge though. Bigger than the Cosmos.

If it's in good shape, I'd snatch that up in heartbeat! I have both the original Cosmos and the II and they are simply fantastic cases. I might have to find a goodwill store and step inside some day. Is it always like that or did you just get extremely lucky?

It was probably donated after a pedophile was caught and arrested and they extracted the hard drives as evidence.

Have fun with your perverted felon's awesome computer case, Fox.

I just got extremely lucky. Overall, Goodwill is always going to be hit or miss, but with technology they are usually 10 years behind. Like before this the best thing I found before was a 21 inch 1080p monitor for $18. I passed on it because it didn't have HDMI out since it was older, but a good price if it worked. This is by far the newest thing I've ever seen as far as computing goes so I was shocked. From the outside it looks real nice, like not a scratch on it, but I didn't take a look inside or see if it still has all the hardware inside.

I have the Cosmos now I got for free off of Craig's list and I do like it a lot, but can't see myself every spending that much on a case. Even the $80 would have me feeling like the Monopoly man.

lol... I didn't buy it. I'll keep checking since my PO Box is next door so I always pop into Goodwill to see what I might find. Not sure how much it would cost to ship the beast, but if any CAG would want it at cost plus shipping I'd go through the effort. My suspicion is that shipping would kill the deal, but who knows.

Goodwill is, hands down, your best bet if you need an inkjet printer from 1997 that requires an RS-232 serial cable.
Don't forget to add in a dot matrix printer and a Bernoulli Drive.

Took god damned long enough. Humble was apparently too busy firing people and putting together mystery boxes to assist.

*Edited to add: Of course it doesn't actually show up in the list if keys sorted by most recent.

Come on, even Poopees can pull that off and they haven't even gone public yet.

I got a laptop from the late 80s for $20 at a Goodwill. Be temped to buy that inkjet if found one (though rather find a dot matrix) ><.

BTW, apparently can buy a dot matrix printer on Amazon for only 200-300 dollars.

I've actually been looking for an old IBM mechanical keyboard at Goodwill for quite a while now. No luck so far, but maybe one day.

That video is not new by any means...it's been all over the internet since the beta -.-
... with the Aussie commentary?

YA GALAH.

Wait, found it on YouTube ... even though I looked earlier and failed to find it. I'm such a drongo.

So I gave The Crew Wild Run Beta a go. 18 goddamn GBs, but wth.

I get into the game and its nice visually and technically ran well. Its just The Crew and Im like wtf, what is this supposed to be and the annoying cop lady from the original game msgs me and tells me to go to Vegas and enter an event, so I do it. Its some stupid drifting event on a wet road, I do it, suck at it, get points. I exit the event and Im magically transported and am inside a monster truck all of a sudden that would make MysterD jealous (since we all know hes a huge monster truck aficionado) and forced to play some  Redneckian Tony Hawk-esque Monster Truck thing with half pipes and shit and little point things. Loop de loops in a monster truck and that sort of nonsense. I finish that and then Im transported into a drag racer on a salt flat and you got rev the thing up and shift gears and that kind of crap. I sucked at it, bad burns all 3 runs. Ok, whatever. I actually thought the drag racing thing was ok. Finally Im back in my normal car and annoying cop lady explains "The Summit" which is a big ass competition containing the events I just tried out. I go to the Bonneville Salt Flats and almost run some chick over (I swear she yelled fuck you at me in the game, but it was probably screw you) and I find the checkpoint thingy, go in and have to do the monster truck baloney again. I get pissed off, exit the game, and uninstall the game.

That was my experience with The Crew Wild Run Beta, which you should have access to if you own The Crew.

if we have access to Wild Run, do we still need to read this wall of text?

You can join our tribe since the hawt tribe on tribe action isnt gonna happen just yet, obviously.
I promise that once I move (on Saturday) I'll have time to raise dino babies with you guys.

Brodate:

After the last two events being busts (Contagion and Vermintide) - We actually showed up for Damned tonight.

We started the first round and no one chose to be a monster and then we realized we were just walking around in the dark with no monster trying to find keys.

Restarted and Drabe stole my monster from me as the lurker so as punishment he got locked in a room for 20 minutes as we tried to escape. Parallacks finally opened the door and Drabe instantly killed him. He then killed Spoder while I hid in an armoire like a coward. I then spent 10 minutes opening 50 armoires and finding nothing. I then spent another 10 minutes running around scared trying to find a way out. Then I spent 10 more minutes doing the same and hallucinating. Then I finally went back to the armoire room out of desperation, looked in a few more, found a key, and escaped.

Round 2 consisted of Spoder being the girl from the ring and terrorizing us and killing us before we were able to escape. As always, Spoder found a way to choose the most overpowered character and cheat.

Round 3 consisted of Parallacks killing us as a phantom probably within a minute of the game starting.

Round 4 found me playing the lurker, complaining I was trapped in a different room than the other guys, and then realizing I could only see people when I transformed. I eventually killed everyone and was victorious.

So yeah, that probably means nothing to any of you, but we had a really fun time despite the game being glitchy and buggy. Get some friends and try it out if it's ever bundled again or cheap or free.

10 out of 10 would claw blindly at a wall again.

Given your general interest in the survival genre, I think you'd like it. Like I said, it's much like the general concept of Rust, only interesting. Plus you seem to gain abilities and things to do on a fairly regular basis. At level 22 I feel pretty established and able to bounce back from unfortunate events but always have stuff on the horizon coming along (level 25 - smithing! metal tools!)

I'll probably wind up joining Brut & Co if I stick with it although I'm having fun right now not being carried and fending for myself. Of course, I say that as I mooch off the generous neutrality of the others who could come kick my sandcastle down any time they wanted.

Thanks for all the AC recommendations peeps. was going to check out putin pricing but dotvpn in mother russia was not working for me tonight.
Stuff to try/check
Try turning Dotvpn off from the icon in the upper right corner then back on again.

For some reason when I first enable the extension it says it's connected but doesn't work but then when I very quickly turn it off (not disable) and back on then it always works for me.

Check Google first. If you get the Russian one then you know it's working.

Also remember you have to clear all Gamersgate cookies and you should be logged out too before using a VPN.

She's actually reliant on luck a bit and the easiest to counter if you see her before she fills her meter. Lurker is the easiest to kill people with by far.

Sounds like you guys had fun though. I gotta remember to try getting an invite to your bro-op group on steam when I get home.

Tell that to Drabe, who was busy clawing up dem walls as the lurker.
You can barely see as the lurker. If you guys had your flashlights off you can only see like inches in front of you.

Sure when you aren't transformed it was all bright but you transform and it's pretty much too dark to see

Was about to pull the trigger but some rabble rabble on reddit has me a little concerned;

One piece of advice though although your uplay code will activate on uplay, if you don't use the installer GG provide you will be missing content for dlc if it is include in your purchase.
This is down to the stupid way that uplay works. It only uses your code to allow access to the content, but their servers won't download it, your retailer has to provide those as supplementary downloads.
I mean, it's just one random dude on reddit so I'm not sure how reliable his information is, but still.
