Just booted-up Batman: AK PC for a bit, since they dropped a patch today. Runs a bit better than that "miracle" patch, but it's still not that great. It's as if newer NVidia drivers + their AK patches - slowly but surely, every few months or so - they might find 5 FPS gains for the minimum.

Ooooh! Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Maybe I can lock it down w/ MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X to 35 FPS max instead of in-game 30FPS...

Hal, stop defending shitty games. This isn't Neogaf.
Excuse me... isn't this forum the mecca of defending shitty games? Ponies? Furries? Visual Novels? RPG Maker? Asset-flip games?

So I like Batman. And grandma games. I like those too. Sue me!

Speaking of games that probably require 16gb of RAM*

Turns out that all those people who said Rocket League is awesome were correct.  You should play it before all the Canadians arrive with the hockey update.

*i didn't actually check for recommended specs, your RAM requirements may vary.

I'll give you that there's a weirdo or two that like Ponies for ironic schtick and even furries (shudder) and RPGMaker (barf) for real. And yes Grandma Hidden Object games too. Might as well include my own shame and deviance here.

But no one actually likes asset flips. We're just shameless card/+1 whores.

I'm still waiting for Hamburger Orgy: the rpg action adventure erotica edition.

I bought it but still haven't had a chance to play it.

Is it the best game that noone cared about until they could get it for free?

Tried out the new Arkham Knight patch and performance improved significantly for me. I run the game at low, but at 1080p, and I used to get noticeable stuttering at times. Now I can go around and it only hitches randomly.

I also noticed some changes in the audio levels... I can hear more background noise when I glide around or go into GCPD.

Ark event is live. For those 2 or 3 people that actually joined the server, the server is taking FOREVER to update with the huge patch. The server will auto start when the patch finishes so just keep trying if you're wanting to play tonight.

It seems that Steam may have removed the 2 hour limit for card drops maybe.
Today Eleusis got card drops and all the cards dropped even though it shows I only played it for 41 minutes.

The same seems to be the case with Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh dropping it's first card within the first half hour.

So what's going on now?

Took me 2.5 hours for Eleusis, but I'm not sure when the first drop happened.

It would be nice if Steam got rid of the 2 hour delay or just added a confirmation dialogue to unlock card drops on the badges page.

32 gb or go play the wii u with Bobby and his 12 family members
But neither I nor my family own a Wii U. :whistle2:(

That's what you end up with when you argue with the Dominos guy too much.
It was just the once. If I end up buying chain pizza for whatever reason, it's usually Papa Johns' and they're far more competent and willing to own up when they fuck up, I've never had any reason to argue with them besides the one or two times when they've been significantly late (30 - 60 minutes later than their latest projected delivery time) and they almost always immediately offer me a free pizza before I even say anything.

Dominos is only better price-wise occasionally, more so when I had free delivery through Shoprunner for them.

Valve's card drop algorithm may have changed (again)

Another thing I just noticed about the card drops... is that Valve did something that broke the python version of Idle Master (which I used to idle my alts on VMs to save time.) None of them want to recognize the cookie data I fished out from my browsers.

Noticed that too, but the latest regular Idle Master (1.4) works for the same thing and is still operational. Just go into Settings and look at Idling Behavior, theres an option to set it to do what idle_master_py does. It may have done it before 1.4, but I never needed to use it until the python version broke.

So 1.4 works? The last time I booted it up was a couple of months ago and it idled for like 2 days with no drops so I just gave up on it.

1.4 works, and I've been running it for the past few days. It seems to automatically detect new games and add them to the queue.

Yeah, I'll definitely keep an eye out for any updates/changes that Windows 10 will try to make. I think I have everything set up and looking the way I want (Classic Shell works well so far) and I turned off every setting I could find about auto updates and privacy.

What does everyone think about Window Defender? I've heard good things about it being simple, "light", and effective.

I am still unsure about my old HDD and how best to use it. Not sure if I can just run programs that were already installed there from Win 7. I'll do some searching and look to see what I can find. Thanks.
Never bothered with Defender. I used to use Avira and Malware bytes but i dont really like the newer version of Avira. Even with the auto update stuff all turned off it seems to auto update itself which pisses me off. I get enough of that with windows 10!

Anyone know how to actually turn off all auto update bs in Avira? I bought a few copies of it a year back when it was on sale real cheap for my family members. I may just switch back to the free version of Avast

So on this subject and in that thread above people have been trying to figure out why some people have the two hour delay still and others don't. There didn't seem to be any common denominator but then one person posted that he believed it to be those who never requested a refund are now not having the two hour wait but those who have requested at least one refund in the past still have the two hour wait.

FWIW, I did request one refund once (I think It was Space Hulk that was 80% off for the duration of the summer sale, then went 90% off one day; who knew?) and I still have the two hour wait for cards.

TL;DR - if you request a refund then Valve puts you on a shit list apparently.

Yeah I requested a refund for Risen 3 cuz I found it cheaper uh.. elsewhere. I still have the 2 hour limit. This seems like a really shitty way of handling the situation if true.

lol...she definitely is a keeper if you can refer to marriage as "getting our marriage license" and she's still trying to keep you.

I say you go for blood:

I don't know what that thing does, but whatever.

And that's called a Thrustmaster. Very sexy.
lol No here in NYC you need to get the license first then wait 24 hours to get married, it's good for 60 days though.

The links seem interesting but not something I'd need.

Really depends on how much you want to future-proof on that VRAM buffer. Most games only require 2GB now, anyways - so, you'll still be over requirements quite well. Some games for me on my 4GB 960 are having VRAM usage over 3.5GB at 1080p on High to Ultra for me - such as Batman: AK, AC:U, & FC4. So, my buffer can handle the 4GB settings.

What this means is on your 970, you'll just have to turn down a few boxes in your in-game graphics options just so you avoid those silly stutters, framerate-drops, and nonsense like that. Shouldn't be the end of the world, TBH.

As long as you keep your games under that 3.5GB w/ that 970 (since your bus is 256-bit) - your card should blow mine out the bloody water on framerates + performance; i.e. just go check some benchmarks on the 970. On my 4GB 960, I have to sometimes lockdown framerates to 40FPS and stuff like that w/ EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner if I want to keep Ultra or just jump down some settings from Ultra to Very High (if a game don't like EVGA Precision or MSI), just to stop my framerate from bouncing b/t 30-60 frames on a select few of the newer games. Or, if worse comes-to-worst - skip it, 30 frame lockdown via NVidia Panel (1/2 refresh on V-Sync) or in-game (like I did w/ Batman: AK).
You run at 1080p?

Again, I blame reddit. They posted the deal, so it was a matter of time to get it fixed.
They're the Slick Deals of PC games. They fuck everything up. They're the reason why Deep Silver and Sega region lock and why Nuuvem had to lock their store hell down, because Reddit Game Deals kept shooting off its damn mouth.

At least with this thread nobody checks it and everyone ignores us. :p

What a load of horseshit. I did a refund once as well (FC3 Blood Dragon, didn't play or redeem uPlay key, then rebought bundle w/ CoJ Gunslinger). Valve has put us on e-terrorist watch lists, apparently!

I do think it's just a bug, though. :)

That's a hell of a specific bug if so.

If they weren't so Sekrit Squirrel about everything we might have a better idea but their communication sucks and their idea of a improving customer service is just allowing blanket refunds so they don't have to deal with anything, which intentional or not now puts you in the Valve blacklist.

This BlackList thing is silly.

They should just make it so 2 1/2 hours minimum for cards so they don't have to have a silly BlackList.

It might piss off lots of gamers - but, their problem would be solved.

The Steam refund system was a trap. The distribution site from the land of coffee and grunge is even more nefarious than the bundle site from the land of pasta.

But what doesn't make sense to me is, if a game isn't eligible for refund anyway (e.g. bundle key) why would Valve keep the 2-hour delay for users who have done refunds in the past? That gives me a sliver of hope it's a bug. I don't know how that would be possible, but otherwise it's a shitty move by Valve.
