^ Also, don't get ED if you don't have a HOTAS...KB/M and Controllers suck.
KB/M is fine, I use it and have no problem. Controller was awful, even though it's on Xbox so you'd think it'd be fine (granted I don't use a Xbox controller so maybe that didn't help). But I don't understand where people get that E:D is terrible with KB/M.

I remember when i went to best buy to get a gaming laptop, i asked the guy what video card was in it and he said its a geforce gtx. heh
with the pricing on some of those gaming laptops. u might as well get custom made alienware gaming desktop, that you could upgrade later in the future yourself, by just replace a graphics card in some cases

It's a SIM game. KB/M completely destroys the immersion.

Three options for controller for ED that many use are:

Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Flight Stick for $33

Saitek X52 for $159

Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino H.O.T.A.S. for $199

It's not for everyone but If you enjoy this type of game I'd go for the X-55.

Yep, I have the cheapo T-flight. It's great, although you can tell it's a cheap version since it's not as buttery smooth as a higher end one would be.

Anyone have thoughts on "There Came an Echo"?  I've had it on the wish list and trying to talk myself into it.  Without flash sales to hope for...

Same here on the tflight hotasX. Got that one for christmas and spent the last few days playing with it in ED. While Im sure the more expensive ones are nicer that huge price jump is hard to swallow for some more metal parts and some smoother action. Especially when you see complaints all over the place on saitek's reliability since many people have gotten dead sticks straight out of the box they can be very hit or miss

Really Id just start with a controller, then move to hotas if you thoroughly enjoy it. I started on a 360 then xbone controller and was just fine playing with that

BTW I highly recommend this mapping:

It covers everything that I have needed so far, and if I find something else theres a couple of those mappings i could re-do

I just wasnt a fan of having 3 separate shift buttons. I much preferred single shift to get to one off functions or rarely used ones, and everything else easily accessed. After using it for a day or two its pretty intuitive. That and the creator had .binds files on his site, just had to fix 2 bindings that were way out of whack and it was ready to go

I wonder when Alienware Arena will have another good giveaway. I missed Descent Underground, but have enjoyed Hover from a prior giveaway.

Why r dere so many ppl who want ED (Erectile Disfunction)?

U guyz so kwazy!

Well I managed to get my wishlist down from about 780 to about 530.....I'll likely give like a $10-20 buck limit and just purchase games up to said limit though I do have some card money as well. Don't really want anything other than Ancient Domains of Mystery (played the ASCII version to death) and possibly Undertale, and TiTs SC...but I need to finish the first one well first.

Is it also locked from the US to Europe?
Doesn't look like it. Steamdb shows RU/CIS, China, Korea and Latin American versions. Rest should be open. Mind you, Steam had its own inner-region gifting rules if that's what you're asking. Generally, you can't gift from anywhere cheaper.

For those of you that have "There Came an Echo", how well did the voice controls work for you?  Any recommendations?  Pro or Con?

Tell me about ADOM. How is it next to ToME? Nethack, Angbad, etc?

GMG with 20% coupon. Was $22.50 two days ago -.-
It still is. The voucher you used was the 20% off one they advertise on the site, but they sent out an e-mail with a 25% off voucher for certain pre-orders, which included Dragon's Dogma. 25PERC-2016GM-WTHGMG is the code I believe.

EDIT: You could try contacting their customer service and ask for a refund of the difference (explaining you didn't know about the 25% off voucher). It might take them a while to get back to you, but hey maybe they'll refund you that 5% difference. :)

It's a bit simpler than Nethack, probably a little more advanced than Angbad (I believe that one was middle earth? been a while since I played). I still haven't played ToME. It's tough as nails. You generally always start in the same town and buy your rations and such. You try to learn spells/skills and casting them, doing them more makes you better at them. There is a simple farming system if I remember correctly and also some appraisal system and such for determining value of things and seeing if they're cursed (extremely useful). Depending on your selection of class/race you level up slower/more quickly and also changes how many skills you're able to allocate on level ups. There is a lot of keyboard shortcuts that help you along the way. You need to eat unless you're some specific race or class (monks don't eat much if I remember). There is a relatively large overworld with many caves/towns/etc. You will get ambushed by thieves/wildlife as you go along it. It's quite a nice game and has a lot to it. There is quite a few ways to actually complete it and it was just really good. I strongly preferred it to Nethack way back when. Also just cause you play a class such as orchish barbarian doesn't mean you can't eventually learn how to read. Eating some things (cooking makes most things better) can cause you to gain abilities such as improved learning and such. There is also potions and scrolls that help you (uncursing is likely the most important!).

Just one of my favorite games ever and I need to play ToME. Heard it's a good newer rogue game (nothing rouge like or lite about ADOM).

You guys had me thinking and I went snooping around for a cheaper copy of Dragon's Dogma. Found it for $19.95 at Gamerocket so I took the plunge and ordered it there. I guess I'll report back on the 15th if all is well with the order.

I don't remember, on a scale of 1 to Groupees, how scheisty is gamesrocket supposed to be?
It's somewhere in the GamGam is a Whore region.

I bought it at games rocket. One thing I don't mind are my MMO's not being steam. TSW never got cheap enough on steam for me to pick it up....and it was never as cheap as que MysterDerp, "that time it was 5.xx at GMG ;)"
So I bought Elder Scrolls online from the Nazi's over at gamesrocket....my order is still processing with an estimated arrival time of 5-15 minutes and I purchased it over 24 hours ago.

They even had some shitty phone verification after I ordered it that I completed, got an email that said I was verified...

Maybe they run on nazi time, or they are warming up some sausage
