This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

You can save 2¢ at Shadyrocket where it's still $21.95

Having a bit of fun with the game though. Also, I rented Motoki's pawn since I'm of appropriate level.  Going to return her with some moldy berries or an old skull.

That site has been around since 2004? Really. I don't even recall there being many digital game download services back then.

Most of those are massively rebundled games though there was a few ones that I just didn't want. I mean how many times can Pester be rebundled.

Anybody here play Frontiers and have an opinion on it? It's Early Access but I'm debating buying it since the first two acts are done and I figure the third act will be done by the time I get around to it. I've never seen it on sale either so I doubt there is going to be a lower price on it any time soon. Just wondering if anyone here has played it and recommends it.

Someone help me decide what to play next so I don't just put another 20 hours in to DoE.  Think I'm leaning towards Ys Origin, Satellite Reign, Jade Empire, Banner Saga, Cities Skylines, and Prison Architect off the top of my head.

Ys Origin. It's a rare bird, a weeaboo PC exclusive.

You can't really go wrong with any of those. I actually played through Banner Saga a couple weeks ago and thought it was superb. I would suggest that, should keep you DoE-free for 10 hours or so.

How will you decide if you get 6 different answers?

Go with Prison Architect.

+1 on Ys Origin, though I warn you that if you haven't played Ys 1+2, it explains the backstory for those two games, and kinda takes away the mystery behind the two.

But if you don't care about that, I say go for it.

As in it ruins the story of the first two or just tells the origin of the series? I know it's a prequel and takes place long before all the Adol games.

Play The Banner Saga. It's a beautiful game with a really good blend of turn-based battles, light RPG (skill points, story choices, etc.), and resource management. Great music and visuals, too.

It says why things in the first two games are how they are and it reveals a couple of plot points in the games - it's nothing that will RUIN the games, but it does make you go "Huh, that explains why this location and this other location exist, why X is here" and so on.

Basically if you care about the lore it'll reveal some things way too early but if you don't care, eh. It's a thirty year old game series, so some folks already know about this stuff without playing them at all.

Well now I'm consternated over this having felt like I had otherwise decided.

Does anyone want Hook or Pyschonauts? I'm not going to keep track of two codes and I can't even sell them for cheap. PM me if you want them, or else don't and I'll give them to lurkers.

I'm not sure what's been more upsetting to me. The results of the Pats-Broncos game, or the last few posts in this thread.

Another one from my backlog chronicles:

Played and actually completed Northmark: Hour of the Wolf in 3 hours. Was an alright card battling game with a political/betrayal story in a fantasy world. I actually enjoyed the heroes and the cards you can get to customize your deck. It's a relatively simple choose the card to do something system and clicking on heroes gets ability cards on cooldowns. The last few battles were challenging though for the last battle cards that were worthless every other battle in the game are now great. I say it's worth at least playing if you backlogged it somewhere from an indie bundle. 6/10.

Well I settled on Jade Empire and the game just runs terribly.  I can't quite tell if it's the FPS or something else going on but it's basically unplayable for me for whatever reason.  Had really wanted to play it again so that's too bad, at least it was free.

Back to deciding what to play. :p

have you played huniepop yet? that game and its amazing plot structure makes jade empire look like an unaired teletubbies episode

or what about sonic and all stars racing? since you're playing jade empire i assume you like rpgs....sonic racing is The Greatest RPG of All Time
