PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

I just used Periscope for the first time. Seems like an OK app. Indiebox has the first unboxing of Nuclear Throne on there too, but I kinda don't want to watch and just be surprised when I get my box in early 2017.

Cause indies suck and are ruining gaming.

Duh.

40 dollars for the witness is a ridiculous amount to me, being indie has nothing to do with it.

Im prolly gonna buy firewatch at release and it will most likely be 30-40 too
Then don't buy it. There's tons of $60 games I don't buy even when they reach $10 or less. But I don't cheer for them to be pirated.

Woah, where did I cheer about it being pirated? All I said was dont release a 40 dollar "indie" game on pc then complain about pirating, stick to consoles if you have issue with pirating.

If you're ever super bored just hop around periscope streams around 10pm. You're bound to find something weird enough to either cure your boredom or motivate you to do something better with your life.

The radio guys here in Tampa that I listen to use periscope a lot.  Or they did until they got their own internet TV thing.  It was a good way to show the people and what they don instead of just hearing them on the radio.  And it was free.  Pretty sure periscope is free?

Yes Periscope is free. It's made by the Twitter people so they're heavily integrated.

I thought it was cool when it launched watching Jimmy Fallon practice that night's monologue. Nice insider look. I also watched when Silversun Pickups were performing at the Nerdist offices, so that was cool cause they were goofing around between sets with Hardwich and answering user comments. I don't use it a whole lot, but I get the appeal.

Something I don't get the appeal of is Vine. Every once in a while I fire that thing up and watch the stupidest super-short, repeating videos of all time, done by people who think they are hilarious and I wonder why I haven't deleted it yet. And then for some reason I don't delete it.

I'm out of here. Have a good weekend, people. I downloaded The Division, so I'll check it out in spite of the bad press.

25k units, so ~$1m in 3 days on one of the platforms it released on. That's terrible.
In revenue, profit would be way less than that I would think.

No idea if thats a good number or not, but pretty sure blow wouldnt complain about being pirated on a torrent site if the sales were over 100k youd think?

Vine is great for sport replays only to me.

True that's revenue but at the same time it's a pretty big opening for an indie game. Plus it still has to release on iOS and might be getting a physical release as well (which obviously will be lower profit.)

I do wonder about the game budget. I can't imagine that having it in development for 8 years kept costs down at all.

I thought I read someone say in that GAF thread that it was $6 million.

I saw that as well on Neogaf but it wasn't sourced and I couldn't find anything so I didn't mention it.

Also, people say SteamSpy isn't very useful for new games. On their about page it says:

"Steam Spy pulls data every minute, but updates visializations only once a day at night (GMT+2), so there is no point in refreshing it more often. The data is based on several days samples: from three days for individual apps to seven days for location-based info. It means that Steam Spy is competely unreliable for recently released games."

Oh shit I forgot the Gasparilla parade is tomorrow.  Its like a mini version of Mardi Gras all day.  Its dumb, but everyone is wasted and doing dumb things all up and down Bayshore.

Actually, going in the dark zone ain't that bad solo. It's easy to rob someone of their loot and run off to let your rogue timer expire as long as you're not fighting a bunch of people at the same time. Also, the matchmaking is pretty fast if you want someone on your side to fight with. Might be interesting to join and group and have someone in your squad betray you, though.

I had the DLC for KoA installed and realized that the quests weren't showing up. Apparently it's a known bug with the game that you can buy the DLC and it'll never start the quests for you.

There's a fix where you travel to the starting area of the game and just walk along the path to the first town and it eventually unlocks the quests and adds them to your list. But imagine if you couldn't find that on the internet and you just bought the DLC and nothing happened?

Went ahead and bit on the vita version of SMRPG.  I'll probably just keep it sealed up for now and grab the digital version down the road once it's on sale.

This commercial, believe it or not, is for pads.

I'm hoping the American people will win the Super Bowl, but will they?

I think Ltrain chased him away.

But seriously he did mention that his work was cracking down even harder on internet policies and that he thought he might not be able to post at work at all anymore.
Mine did the same where it's not blocked but a reset connection error shows up in Chrome. I get around it by using the hotspot on my work phone and connecting my laptop to it (hehe) as this site doesn't eat much of the data. But I haven't had much free time at work since the New Year anyway so I haven't been able to check out CAG much.

So I guess GTA V has some asinine collectibles? This dude on NeoGAF is bitching about having to collect 50 pieces of paper scattered across the world.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1177196

It seems pretty obvious that Rockstar included them to demonstrate how pointless and stupid most collectibles are. But it was funny to read this guys rage post about how stupid the papers are.
What's the worst collectible of all time? My nomination is the 600 Comic pages in Amazing Spider-Man on the PS3 especially after the save bug hits and it no longer recognizes your save when you only have a few left to get.
