I struggled with the same problem and ended up spending a little extra to get the Pulse Elite headset. Obviously Golds would be the way to go now, except neither of these options is necessarily cheap.

Maybe buy a used hearing aid and just have the volume on the TV at one while the hearing aid's volume is at 8?
Lol at buying hearing aids as a cheap way to do anything...

I have this puzzle game on my phone where you roll a cube around Escher like structures in order to get the cube to the exit. It's not bad, but I can only do 2 or 3 puzzles and then I have to stop for a few days. That's how I think I'd have to play The Witness.

I'd still like to try it, though. But I'll wait for the 75% off sale.
Is the game you have Monument Valley? That game is getting the deluxe vinyl soundtrack package treatment and it looks super sweet. One I would add to my collection if I actually had one.

Man everything in ffx-2 end game is just a giant time sink. Wouldn't it just be enough to catch chocobos? Why do they have to be a rarer type that can grow to level 5? And then you have to play a mini game with them where they might run away? Why isn't enough to just kill every type of creature? You have to kill each of them 10 times so you can collect the slightly stronger one?

Without all the lame stuff like that it'd be a decent and 20ish hour game instead of 60+.

I sold my PS3 copy of the remaster with plans to buy the PS4 remaster later on, but more and more I'm considering just not buying it again.

You could just stop, you know.

nah, get it. ffx is solid. ffx-2 is just dandy for a playthrough if you don't give a rats ass about the plat. if I just abandoned ship now and finished the story I'd probably have around 35% of the trophies and that might just be the way to go.

Completely sucks that they're not available digitally. (1-3 can be purchased through amazon.) I don't have cable so watching them through the FXX app is impossible, shamefully. What's odd, is even with all the digital piracy and internet culture I can't find a log-in or hack for this anywhere.
You need more friends. That's how I get mine.

Are you talking about Creature Creator? That wasn't in the original game. And it's awesome, so maybe you're talking about something else. I also did it really early in the game so I could use my creature in battle, so maybe that's why I wasn't annoyed.

And I think I've posted this before in the thread, but by far my least favorite game I played on the 360 was that Majin pile of turds that you guys are fawning over.  I only sold one game back that I ever bought those days - and it was that one.  Suckiest bunch of suck that ever sucked.

well damn simmias, what made it so bad?

nope, just filling out shinra's bestiary (you have to have all of the monsters and a lot of the monsters oversouled unless I'm missing something). I decided to ignore it since about the 3rd act and see what's left after I finish everything else. creature creator is super but I haven't used creatures in my party since the 2nd act since most of my strategy has been mostly 2x melee + 1x white mage/alchemist for virtually every major fight. I think the game is probably a lot better if you're the kind of person that just embraces every aspect of it and tries things like different creatures or the more obtuse spheres out to 'see what they do' over the course of hours, but I guess that isn't me.

It's really what Gator said. The game isn't that bad at first, but it just never clicked with me. But the postgame is just slow-ass, tedious backtracking everywhere.
Did you get as many of the collectibles as possible as you went through each area? Did you use the fast-travel rooms? As I said before, I'm about halfway through, but I haven't found much need to backtrack other than after getting a new ability, and even then I don't usually have to go very far.

You Kentucky nuts probably already know this, but new logo package/Identity for your vaunted Wildcats:

That new mascot logo reminds me loooots of the legendary Lions of Detroit, especially on the grey/silver background.

I kind of like it. And it looks nothing like a lion so it doesn't remind me of Detroit. It clearly looks like a cat of some type. A wild cat even...

Honestly I don't remember. I just checked and I played it in the summer of 2011. I'm left with the lasting memories of (1) I didn't like it, (2) lots of backtracking and (3) slow.

I didn't mean the animal looks like a lion, just the color comboy and overall shape of the thing looked like the Lions logo.

3.5 is actually middle of the road for a Tyler review. He only rates things from the dreaded 2.5 to the best of the best 4.5.

I went through all of IA to collect data.

Side note: Has anyone ever been really really really fucking bored at work?
I think I posted it once before, but yeah that's basically the scale I use. I feel like using more than 5 tiers to score a game isn't really necessary, so I've just converted my personal scoring system into a 10 point system and one that's more traditionally used in gaming journalism.

2.5 Diamonds = Not recommended but functional game

3 Diamonds = Recommended with caveats

3.5 = Recommended

4 = Highly recommended

4.5 = Excellent game (not sure how many of these I've given, I know Flame Over and Geo Wars 3)

I probably won't give 2 diamonds or less to anything except games that are downright broken (Zombie Vikings very easily could have scored lower, but what did actually work I really liked). 5 diamonds I'll probably give at some point. Geo Wars 3 could probably be a 5 diamond game.

Had a luncheon at work for lunch, got a southwest chicken wrap and the only sauces that came with it were mustard and mayo. C'mon son. Give me something with a bit of flavor.
