PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

This city has been nuts these last two weeks. I know a lot of you don't like sports, but there really is nothing like it when an entire city unites under a common interest and everyone just decides to be nicer to one another. It's pretty fantastic.

That said, I'm a little worried about what will happen if we lose this game. Our fanbase is a bit too overconfident in my opinion.
I loved that feeling. I lived in Green Bay during their two Super Bowls in the 90s. It was surreal being there walking around with all the buzz and excitement for our first appearance in 29 years. Then to win it all was just everyone happy. I stood on a street corner after they won waving a towel in a Packer jersey with no coat smoking a cigar as cars drove past and honked and hollered and high-fived and its one of my greatest memories.

I've also been on the way to over-confidant and then lose side of it too (with those same Broncos!). Everyone handled it pretty well considering. I think having one the year before helped.

But yeah. Enjoy it man. It's a pretty special experience.

It just stood out to me today when I was at a store with the gf and she pronounced her phone number to the teller as "five zero two." Made me wonder if most people say it that way, or my way. Figured I'd ask here to see if it's a regional thing or something. Also stupid questions lIke that are definitely PSNOT fodder.
I know when I read CC numbers over the phone I say zero because I know how hard it is to understand Ohh vs zero sometimes.

Come to think of it, my cell number has a zero in it and I always pronounce it as zero.

So I'm #teamZero

I made a conscious decision to start saying zero instead of oh a number of years ago hoping that people would ask me to repeat myself less often.

Not that I hang out with real Bawlmer people, but when the Ravens won a few years ago, everyone was just cocky about it and then didn't care 2 days later.

I was in middle school for those superbowls, and remember even here at school we had packer spirit days where basically everyone in the whole school were decked out in packers gear.

I'm considering grabbing NCAA Football 14 for $5. Goes for a lot more than that online, though that's not why I would buy it. I did always enjoy college football games more than Madden for whatever reason.

The Colt's Bowl in 2007 was crazy. Entire school was decked out in Colts gear. And then there was me and maybe 5 others in dark blue and orange. God that was a painful super bowl. That monday may has well have been a vacation day, no one showed up to class. Assholes.

They cancelled all afternoon classes for all public schools in Green Bay do they could go to the victory parade. The assholes at UWGB didn't though so we all just skipped. One missed day of calculus wasn't gonna kill me.

I also say zero. Years of phone support experience and saying number+letter strings to customers is great training for that.

I paid a lot more than $5 for a disc copy last summer. It's the best one in the series since 2004 or 2005. You probably don't care at this point, but the plat is unattainable.

$115. for Duck Dynasty (1 each Xbone & PS4), Dragon Age Inquisition (PS3), and Helldivers.  Hastings, this is why I love you.

I was really lucky with that one. I got the plat not very long before they shut the servers down. Looks like only 29 people have gotten the plat since I did on PSNP. I wonder how many of those are hackers and how many are lucky people who happened to do all the online before the servers closed.

Wrapped up the Smart As plat.  Fun little game although that Street Smart grind was rough.  Got lucky the last few weeks had easier challenges to get the most stars in.

Anyway, bourbon:

I guess I'm not enough of a manly man to drink this shit straight. I drank a little straight, then drank a couple beers, now I'm drinking the bourbon with Pepsi and it's pretty good.

I saw a recommendation for newbs to drink bourbon diluted with water first. Gradually work your way to "neat"

Gator, I've never heard of a gose beer, but the guy at the liquor store convinced me to try Westbrook's gose. I went in looking for that Coast kolsch you recommend, but they didn't have it. They only had one Coast beer at this store; the guy said they just did not get as much of their stuff as they used to.

Anyway, the gose isn't half bad. I'm not picking up a lot of saltiness, but I like the sourness of the beer. There also doesn't seem to be as much carbonation as my usual brews.

I'll keep looking for that kolsch. The store I went to today had a pretty diverse selection.

Maybe I'll try that. This evan williams kinda just tasted like jack daniels straight though. Damn delicious with Pepsi
Jack Daniels is essentially bourbon. It just isnt charcoal filtered I think so it gets the Tennessee Whisky label instead. At least that was how it was explained to me. Plus, I think it has to be made in Kentucky as well or they cant legally call it bourbon anyway. Some very particular rules for bourbon.

I really like that Gose. You do not get much salt in it unless you eat something sweet before drinking it. Or at least that was the case for me. That was a good suggestion from whoever was working there. I would call it more tart than sour, but that is probably splitting hairs. They do tend to be much lighter carbonated.

Where did you stop in? Piney Grove Greens should be your best best in Columbia.

Chewy, you need to put that in a spoiler tag in case someone hasn't seen the movie still and missed the earlier exact same spoiler in the thread.

I'm reading this good book about a kid who finds an old can of green goop at a toy store. Then his dog eats some and starts to grow into a giant dog. It's pretty good.

Piney Grove Green's is on the other side of town from where I live. The Green's on Assembly is on my way home from work, but they share a parking lot with California Dreaming. That parking lot is crazy on Friday afternoons. I'll have to stop there on another night to look for that kolsch.

I went to Morganelli's. It's in my part of town, Forest Acres, and is probably the next best place for me to look for stuff after Green's. The guy I talked to was pretty knowledgeable. He did have some hellacious BO, though.

I'm really liking this gose. Just opened my second can.

Im kind of bored and dont really want to start something new and I am burned out on LBP Vita.

If anyone wants to play some Nom Nom and wants some experienced help, let me know.

Yeah it was awful. I ordered a roast beef sandwich at first because there's almost no way to fuck that up. But then I was informed nobody else got roast beef so i had to change my order. I knew I was screwed.
Did you have to split the wrap with someone? Why couldn't you order one even though no one else did. I would have been like ok I will go out to eat after this meeting. Keep your free crappy wrap I do not want.

I say both depending on how many zeros are there. If it's a double zero, they're clearly enunciated as "zero zero" if it's just one I say "five O two"
I say it either way but not sure there is a reason. I know Zero is technically correct but I am from NY so.

Kind of funny but a few years ago at work they were doing a training video and were debating hiring a voice actor since most of us have pretty bad NY accents. Not sure what they ended up doing. They even had one one those text to speech programs and bought several voices. I thought was much worse then even the broad from Brooklyn sounded though.
