This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

If only we had paid for mods, the season pass would be cheaper!

Maybe a "best value" bundle for $100 gets you two season passes plus 1000 Bethesda Points to spend on horse armor.

Why am I sitting here contemplating a $60 bundle of Fallout 4 and Season Pass when I know damn well that I haven't finished Fallout 3 or New Vegas.

Of course. I kind of expect that the game itself will be no more than $30 on a regular basis by the time they put out all the DLC and then they'll start putting the pass and DLC on sale too. It's the same thing they always do.

 
On one hand, I can see (and somewhat agree with) the argument that FO4 is "shallower" than its predecessors.  On the other hand, I notice that I have over 200hrs logged into FO4 and 200hrs in FO:NV.  Difference being that I've played FO4 once and played through New Vegas (and the DLC) twice.

And, to forestall the obvious guesses, I barely spent any time on my FO4 settlement and told Preston to eat dongs when he begged me to lead his loser-army so I never started the Minuteman faction -- so no endless 'A settlement needs your help' nonsense.  But I guess FO4 kept me happily busy doing something...

That said, I'm cautiously optimistic that Bethesda took some of the criticism into consideration when making the new DLC and made the quests and factions a bit more robust.  Looking forward to hanging out with my man Valentine some more, at least.

 
FO4 has great combat.  It's a lot of fun and far more fluid than FO3 by a mile.  Game also looks much better albeit not amazing for current gen tech.  Still a far cry from the eyesore that was FO3.  Ultimately I don't think the DLC for this will be worthwhile.  We're going to have to wait for them to outsource the spinoff to Obsidian or InXile or some other outfit that can write a competent setting, story, and characters.

FO4 does a lot of things well...combat is loads better, the game is bigger, it looks nicer. The biggest complaint I think I have with it though is it just lacks personality...there are like 2 quests that stick out in my mind about the game and I played it for over 90 hours. Its atmosphere somehow isn't anywhere near as compelling as that of New Vegas or Fallout 3, despite being the same source material and having similar soundtracks, etc. The vaults not only aren't as interesting as those of FO3 or NV, but at times they're just bland, etc. Beyond all that I wasn't a fan of some of the creative choices...the shift from having a silent protagonist in first person to one with a voice who cuts to third person in dialogue I think hurts the immersive feel of the game. The dialogue system itself was worse than the previous games. Getting rid of stats in favor of a perk only system I wasn't a fan of. And really I don't care that the story/characters are shit, that's never been bethesda's strong suit or why I play their games, the problem is that it seemed like bethesda wanted so badly to write a good story and they seemed to try way too hard and it hurt the overall experience of the game.

 
A few days ago we were all posting are internet speed and I bitched about my A+ ranked internet saying it was wildly inconsistent...

Probably some crap with CDNs.

I knew someone who had FIOS that could not load twitch streams.  Then they move and have internet with a different provider that is a fifth the speed, but can view twitch without an issue.

The bulk of the city is on the Missouri side but, yes, Kansas City has allot of fiber in it.

bro night event update Part 1: Axyos

the fellow cags who came to this event were, bah, spoder, fox, me, indef( he seems to join every single bro event event), dukeedward ( have no idea who that is, not sure if he is even a cag , or just a random, then another random with the user name ginger joined
the game is really bad n unpolish, trying to mimick one of the popular fps series counter strike , but plays like it is still in alpha stage of development. Bah came out as the alpha dog in the two matches i played. his k/d(kill/death)ratio is very good. almost borderline hacker like,21-4.
during the second match the unpolish gameplay rear its ugly head for me, i was stuck n frozen in place, due to some kinda of game glitch n bug, and cannot move anywhere. i had to literally wait till people came to me, which was the spawn point. so i can shoot, because i cannot move at all.
after this disaster of a game, the other bros gave up on the game, and decided to play mount your friends, since fox miss it the first time. i didn't join , because i do not own the game

Man, raising the price of a season pass is just so damn trashy. I'm 12 hours into Fou4 and I can't even get myself to continue anymore. Game is just so damn boring for me even with all the cool mods installed too.

Thanks for the brodate. Game was definitely subpar. DukeEdward is a CAG, he just doesn't post much anymore but does bronights. Mount Your Friends was fun. I finally beat Spoder so I promptly quit, but the other bros are still playing.

 
This Friday and Saturday I will be brofisting (Bro)Fistful of Frags and Killing Floor AND I'll be mic'ed up.

I haven't decided if I'll use an outrageous German accent yet.

MUCH better? ehh. it's one of those things. they basically just added stuff to 15. so if you don't like the base gameplay, the additions/changes won't be enough to keep you.

 
Not joking at all, I have that Dump Dinner cookbook. My sister also says DUMP DINNER with a really deep voice all the time to make my nephew laugh, though he is getting a bit old to find it funny (he's almost 11 months). 

It has some decent recipes.
