PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Only a little into life is strange ch 5, but still no clue how this game is so highly rated on metacritic.

An assault on both the cyborgs and the bugs should start pretty soon I think. Hopefully we actully win one.
Which means probably not since it will split the user base, unless they halt all cyborg activity and throw it all behind the bugs.

Speaking of which 100K kills get. Just have the 2 community event trophies and one DLC trophy (upgrading all the non-DLC items to max) which I probably won't bother with, and then I'll have the plat.

For Helldivers the assault on the Cyborg Homeworld just went live. The Bug Homeworld will be up very soon too. I'd say in the next hour. Illuminate will be awhile before that one is reached.

So while I did decide to essentially quit video games, I thought it would be fun to stream NES/SNES games, with the occasional retro style PC game thrown in there. I made a new Twitch and I followed everyone on the front page. If you're not on there, either follow me or reply and I'll follow you on there.  I'm thinking of streaming every Tuesday and Thursday. I won't be starting for at least another week, maybe two though.  Anyway, if you're interested in watching me attempt to beat the oldies, follow me on there or on Twitter:

If any of you still plan on getting the plat in Ni No Kuni, this should be extremely helpful:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/998014-ni-no-kuni-wrath-of-the-white-witch/65357616

I got 3 medals of impunity made last night, so I'm all set to start actually farming the items needed for errand 78. I'm gonna level up my party some more before doing it though, I have plenty of other stuff to do for now.
Actually, the defending method seems to take forever after reading the thread. The medals of impunity will still help alot, but casting pulse over and over with the weakest wand will give chances for golden glims to appear more frequently according to several posters there. I'll try it that way once I get another chance to play.

Thanks! We’ll have a release date very very soon!
We'll see how soon that is, but if it's $15 or less odds are good I'll grab this right away.

Plus this:

Have you cancelled the Vita version? =/

The Vita version is definitely promised and planned, but we won’t be handling it ourselves. I too would like to be able to play our game on planes, buses, and difficult family gatherings.

Thanks! Hope you said hi, Michelle and I were there (and probably a little ragged :) ). We’re aiming for a physical release, but no details on that. In fact — thanks for the reminder, that’s a thing we need to ping some folks about :)

No co-op trophies! Honestly, that never occurred to me. I like to think there’s a distant possibility of some sort of expansion or megapatch or something that would introduce online multiplayer, but we’re just focusing on all the local stuff for now.

Just for clarification — multiplayer is co-op with no friendly fire as a default. When you initiate PvP, it becomes a friendly fire enabled battle to the death.
True story: first time I did Dark Souls coop, I was terrified to do any melee attacks near my buddy, lest I hurt him. Everything in DS is so punishing, why would they do you such a kindness as no friendly fire? :)

It's weak in the beginning. The initial combat and travel just don't feel right and the world isn't exactly detailed or varied. It's not until you've gotten into the game further, maybe about 1/3, that it becomes really good. At that point you'll have unlocked enough new abilities that the gameplay elements all kind of gel together.
Fired up Shadow of Mordor this morning. Lost the first two battles. Seems as soon as I am about to beat a mini boss another (or more) spawns and they over run me. Then they all rank up making it harder to deal with them the next time.

Is it a quicktime event I have to do when they have me down and about to deal the final blow? I get some spinning half circle thing I guess I have to rotate one of the sticks to match and hit whatever they flash on the screen to counter? First time it was a triangle next time a square.

Will give a couple more hours and hope he levels up and I get better at the combat.

I'd recommend not spending much time in the forts right off--once the alarm sounds they'll just keep sending orcs until you leave, IIRC. There's not much variety or challenge to the game aside from the horde aspect so as long as you're not dealing with an endless stream of enemies it's not very difficult even early on. If you find yourself getting overwhelmed just split--even if you just hide on top of a nearby tower if the orcs can't get to you then then'll drop aggro very quickly.

And yeah you're right about the QTE event for killing off bosses.

The Playstation TV micro console was alive at one point?

I played some more The Order 1886. Chapter 11 now. I hope no one considers this a spoiler but (I'll tag anyway) I thought hmmm...
this little stealthy part is kind of a pain in the ass, that is until I realized I had  a crossbow in my hand with 5 arrows. :dunce:

Move the stick into the circle and you'll get a button prompt.

Good god Mordor was so good...I need to finish that last story DLC (Bright Lord), did anyone get the PLAT (PITA?)? It's probably one game I could see myself sinking in the time commitment to do it. So good.

The plat is pretty common. 20% on PSNP. Vig has it, not sure who else does in here.

It's not too difficult, though there are a few trophies that can be really annoying if you don't plan them out carefully. I think PSNP's trophy guide is pretty good about handling those.

I'm hoping to wrap up The Order in the next couple days so I can start in on Mordor.  Haven't played The Order since last week and only chapter five, but I'm hoping I can knock it out quick.

Mordor was one of my favorites so far this gen. I think a few people in here got the plat, I think the trophies I had the most trouble with were the level 25 rune, and the run over X amount of things with a warg in X amount of time one. Not that those were overly complicated either, game was a lot of fun and the trophies aren't a huge time commitment.

There are at least 12 of us with the plat according to people who I am friends with on TT.

Vampyre, the next title from Dontnod Entertainment (Remember Me, Life is Strange) has been announced:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vampyr_(video_game)

The player controls the game's protagonist Jonathan E. Reid,[2] a vampire doctor whose thirst for blood compels him to kill innocent people. To do this successfully, he must gather information about his targets—study and change their habits, collect clues—and maintain certain relationships by communicating with the inhabitants of London. If one so chooses, anyone in the game could be a target, which will have consequences that affect the story.[3] Feeding on human blood will unlock new vampiric powers in addition to providing nourishment.

The combat allows the player to wield improvised weapons, such as a saw, as well as ranged weapons in the fight against mythical and human enemies.[3] Weapon improvement through crafting is made possible by looting items from the bodies of victims. While using vampiric powers in combat, the player character's health and energy drains. This forces him to feed so he can immediately replenish his strength.

Development
Vampyr was based on the 1918 London Spanish flu pandemic in order to inspire a gothic mood. The developers conducted research on the events surrounding the period, using both factual and fictional reference points to create the visuals of the London setting, realised with state-of-the-art lighting and post-processes running on the Unreal Engine 4. The paintings of Phil Hale influenced the rendering of the art style. In the game, the killing of innocents as the price for immortality is intended to explore the dualism of surviving as a vampire.
Sounds interesting. Hits next year. If the game ends up looking like the images on the web site it should be pretty interesting:

I was looking to make Vice City my 75th plat but thats highly unlikely now.  I didnt do the "cheat" right in order to automate the process for the Godfather rank and Canoli trophy.  I either have to start a new game and collect 80 packages again (several hours or work) without shooting anything and glitching into the second island, or put a bunch of helicopters in a garage and continually use a blow up all cars cheat code for 4 or 5 hours.

fuck that.

I didnt do everything for 100% either, which is the only other trophy I need for the plat.  But see above sentence for reason why I dont think I will bother now.

I have the plat. That's how you know it was easy.

Mordor was my first plat and the only trophy that was any problem was the "kill 30 enemies in 3 minutes" while riding an animal because you have to take a specific route and get a little lucky.

I figured Mordor with have huge combo trophy like the Batman games, but glad to see it doesn't.  That's the only thing that stopped me from going for the plat in Arkham Asylum.

2 quick PSAs

1.)The PS+ specials like the launch discount on Hitman GO expire a bit earlier in the day than normal tomorrow, 10 AM instead of the usual 2 PM.

2.)Anyone who got that $5 "missing you" BB certificate, that expires on Wednesday.
