Wow I forgot about this. I bought it too. Is there even a way to re-download it now that GFWL is gone?
You can still download GFWL here, then I presume access your games through the client. I haven't bothered to do that, though.

I still have the CD key saved, but it doesn't activate in Steam.

Hope you backed-up your G4WL Marketplace's game-folder files - i.e. all the .CAB files; you can use 7Zip to extract those and get your installer-files (so you can install the game outside of G4WL Marketplace program).

Yeah, good thing I did that a bit ago (when the rumors were flying about G4WL closing)!

While I can connect to G4WL Marketplace game-client program - it will NOT re-download games from their servers.

Just tried and all.

Really? I can download the client but I can't access the games through it? That's lame as hell. Glad I only spent $.10 on it but still. God damn microsoft. The least you could have done was given owners Steam keys to make up for it.

Yep. You get an error message and the link that should tell you about the G4WL error doesn't exist on XBox.com (which is where it now redirects to). Absolute garbage.

That's Microsoft for you. Meh.

Good thing I only bought a few things directly from G4WL.

EDIT:

Oh, CD Keys/Game Keys are NOT showing in the G4WL Marketplace Client either.

Good thing you have your CD Key saved (like myself), just in case M$ ever uploads the keys to Steam...which probably will never happen.

Just letting everyone know that the Humble Jumbo 16 games are available on tremor, Grey Goo is pretty expensive at 4300 coins but seems better than paying $12 for the entire bundle only for that game. Dreamfall is also available for about 1200 coins too

http://www.tremorgames.com/index.php?action=shop
Thanks for the heads up. Snagged Dreamfall and Dragonfall and skipped Magicka. Now I can grab the $1 tier. Those HIB 16 trade ins are working already.

Division update:

I finished the prologue before you get to Manhattan. Had a ton of fun. Loving this game. Also, this happened:

How? Well in the Police Precinct mission I ran through a door where the bad guys were spawning and I guess I wasn't supposed to do that so I fell into an abyss of undeveloped map under the main map. Then I landed and the game told me I had 8 seconds to get back to the play area, which of course I couldn't. So I died. lol. Then had to run all the way back to the mission, run through the mission, and get back to where I left off. lol. Freak glitch where I ran through the door as the enemy ran through it.

ok so what in the world is the deal with Microsoft and Windows 10??

I was in the other room watching Better Call Saul with a friend who was over tonight and out of nowhere my PC just automatically installs Windows 10.  I've had the annoying windows updates trying to get me to install it since last summer, always click no.  Even found a work around to stop getting the main notification over and over.  My point being, I have never once told my PC to upgrade to Windows 10.  Tonight it just raped my PC and updated it forcefully.  Don't get me wrong I was planning on upgrading to 10 eventually, but everything is running smoothly now and I have had no reason to do it yet.  Being Steam gamers, you guys know how these things go.  I know 10 is fine and all and that's not the point.   Which brings me to the main question:  why is Microsoft hellbent on forcing this upgrade down everyone's throat?  What's the agenda? What's really going on here?  I'm not suggesting a conspiracy, but seriously what is the deal?  How are they just forcing operating systems on people now?

I bet it was your friend. He or she probably did something.

I don't really know how Windows 10 is forcing itself on people. Do you have auto-updates installed? I've had one laptop with Windows 10 downloaded and ready for months and not once has it tried to forcefully install it.

Not doubting you, just wondering if maybe there is a certain setting at fault.

I think MS just wants to move as many people to the same OS. Probably makes it much easier on their end as far as support to have the most people on the same OS and maybe they can brag about their numbers more saying x amount of people have switched over.

Nah wasn't the friend. No auto-updates. Though there is a new, grim update prompt this week that again tries to get you to install it. Once it was installed without my permission I declined the user agreement on the second prompt and the machine spent ~5 minutes rolling back to Windows 7. In hindsight, I should have probably just left it on here.

I get that MS has an agenda. I just don't understand how they can force install an OS on people. and why do they keep asking when it's clearly mandatory.

Kind of annoying they never put that up on Steam or anywhere else AFAIK.
None of Microsoft's own GFWL games are currently on Steam. This includes Halo 2, Shadowrun (which I own), this game, and Gears of War. Fable 3, Age of Empires Online, and Microsoft Flight were removed from Steam. I was disappointed during that GFWL sale that Gears of War didn't drop down to $1.

you aren't alone. Happened to my main gaming machine just a few days ago. It let u reschedule the "forced" upgrade in another 7 days. There's nothing wrong with my Win7.. why the heck I want to upgrade to Win 10? F**** off, M$

Well great. It looks like my douchebag brother screwed with my account while I was out. What the hell do I do now.
I don't want to lose this damn account. And it won't let me change my username or delete that damn topic.
I'd say contact a mod, but I've never been able to get them to respond.

{W10 Update Talk}

Microsoft actually has moved W10 to Windows Update. If you actually have Windows Update on - well, you're going to actually have to uncheck the box for the W10 Update via there beforehand, if you don't want it to do so. If you have any updates automatically set to auto-update - well, then...."Welcome to W10."

Personally - I usually keep Windows Update off; and periodically turn it on to check for updates and then later might install updates if I done research about them; never know when you get an annoying update or something that can actually break your OS, break app's, or whatever. When I noticed W10 got moved there (when I turned it back on) - well, right back off it went and W10 Upgrade got unchecked. I'll deal w/ this maybe moving my main gaming W7 rig to W10 later...maybe. We'll see.

Already got W10 files download (on my crummy former W8 laptop - which I moved to W10 as a test-bed rig). Got it W10 cut to DVD disk (followed the instructions and all on how to do so), in case I need the files if I want to do the upgrade other PC's.

Also, it's probably less OS's for Microsoft tech support to deal w/ (if anyone ever bothers them) and less OS's for their Microsoft exclusive games to test on (saves $ and resources), if they can actually get everyone to move to W10 or force everyone to W10. Plus, it might actually look like W10 free giveaway is a success which could cause others to move to it; anyways they can get people over to W10, they'll do it - whether by force or not. That's M$ for you.

EDIT:

Looks like I got Foxypie'd by the bro, for the most part. Moving it to Spoiler tags.

I didn't know that was coming today, thought it was tomorrow. I'm interested in how the port turns out, better be more graphics options than in 2k15.

Hitman ep. 1 reviews are out now, Opencritic rating is at a 76. Seems like most like it but still glad I only payed $15 for the whole thing. The physical version for Hitman has been delayed to 2017, odd. Hope the digital version turns out fine with no delays, there's supposed to be 7 total episodes for Hitman.

Seasonal The Division update: so I have been playing with YGC because none of the brohs will take my invite (that includes you Lane) and one of my buddies (he was level 19 on the first day). They are both pretty good at the game I still learning everything. Definitely alot more content than I thought and always finding more to do.

Need all the brohs and gurls to add me on Uplay (headpiece747) so we can get our levels up. See you on The Division.

Stardew Valley has sold 425,000 copies

Yesterday I got a chance to speak with the lone developer of Stardew Valley, Eric Barone, about the sky-rocketing popularity of a game he says started out as a way to learn how to program. While it's clear to see from Steam's best seller list, the front page of Twitch, and all over the internet that Stardew Valley has been well-received, Barone revealed just how popular it really was. According to him, roughly 425,000 copies of the game have been sold across Steam and GOG as of March 9—only 12 days after launch.

For comparison, only a handful of games seemed to sell more than a million copies on Steam last year. Barone told me he never expected the game to be this popular. "I thought it would be popular with people who were fans of Harvest Moon or Rune Factory, and I thought that would pretty much be it," Barone said, "I never expected it to have such wide appeal. I mean, I'm super happy about it and I'm blown away by the reaction, but I'm surprised too."

Even with Steam being known to take about one-third of the cost, and publisher Chucklefish most likely taking a share as well, it's not inconceivable to assume that Barone has suddenly seen himself become a multimillionaire. But Barone made it clear he doesn't want Stardew's success going to his head, saying "I don't want it to affect my life in any way. My lifestyle isn't going to change." He also intends to keep the scale of development at a similar level, saying he'd consider hiring help for "more technical aspects of the game," but that he generally prefers to work alone.

Check back tomorrow for our full interview with Barone, where he reflects more on the success of the game, what's coming to Stardew Valley next, and a secret he says no one has found yet. And if you're one of the many people playing Stardew Valley, we're currently looking for screenshots of your farm!

Also, for you Division types:

The Division breaks Ubisoft sales records

Well I guess we know why Ubisoft's servers had a little stumble as The Division came online in the US: it's broken company records for the most copies of any game sold in 24 hours, in total, on PC and on those strange living room game boxes.

Exact figures are not forthcoming, but we know that it's nicked the crown from Watchdogs, their previous day-one best-seller, and that shifted 4 million copies over the course of a week. Working backwards, carrying the zero and dividing by pi, that equates to... a lot of Division players.

"This is a momentous day for Ubisoft," CEO Yves Guillemot said in a blog post, "but more importantly it marks the start of millions of players’ enduring engagement in The Division’s game world, which we are confident they will love.”

There's the real test for Ubisoft Massive: 'enduring engagement'. It's all very well to get millions in through the door, but as Destiny (holder of the global record for 24-hour sales) discovered, it's harder to keep them there. Ubi will have to be ready to change its approach at the drop of a hat. Our James Davenport is enjoying his first few hours with The Division and still has plenty left to play, but how New York will fare a month after first contact is more important than its opening day.

Did they steal bestbuy's logo?

Also it's not like devs can control at what price game is sold at, because stores can just reduce their margins, or someone sells previously aquired keys at G2A/Kinguin Mafia/Steamtrade sites etc.
