No one replied on the Groupees thread, so I'll try here.  Two more days until Shinyloot goes offline.  I have two codes left on Groupees.  Who wants Chronicles of a Dark Lord Nightmare Vision or DROD: Journey to Rooted Hold?  Send me a PM or reply here.  Whatever.

I'll take both if they are still available.

I nabbed the Square Enix bundle...I like to live dangerously.

Hey, remember ARK?

Not wanting to be outdone by H1Z1's split into two games, now there is a f2p standalone arena version of ARK.
Everyone is realizing that Battle Royale games is where the money is at currently.

Seems like multiplayer survival games will never actually work at the moment.

Within DayZ/H1Z1 Zombies aren't even a threat within a zombie game after an entire 2+ years.

You pretty much go around attacking and collecting items within these games anyway so it might as well be Battle Royale

Shadow Complex is coming to steam in may, apparently. Da fuq was the point of releasing it first on the epic games launcher then

Thanks for reminding me. I checked my account and two games had Steam keys added recently.

I also downloaded the only game I care about that was still hosted there: Mark Leung.

Valve: "We really need to find a way to make more money" or "That whole Skyrim paid-mods thing went really well. How can we double down?"

Valve to add paid Custom Game Pass to DOTA 2

Valve are set to announce (any minute now!) a new way for creators of Dota 2 custom games to make money from their work. The 'Custom Game Pass', available as an in-game purchase, will add 'features, content, or other changes' at the discretion of each individual custom game creator.
Coming soon to a game near you!

That's not the same at all, as it's actually curated and you can still pay for free (I mean, play). Just like CS:GO maps, you just get extra perks for paying. :p

Anyone got those free Dark Souls code from Golden Joystick to redeem a steam key? Worked for me, now I finally own a Dark Souls game!

B/c they (Epic) probably expected Epic Games Launcher game-client to be the next Steam.

Yeah, that worked out well for Epic, didn't it? :p

I applied the promo code but it keeps telling me it's not available in my country. Have a UK address/info entered and running a UK VPN. It accepts the promo code but just won't let me check out.

Edit: Finally got it.

I was having all kinds of problems getting it to work. What I did eventually was close out Google Chrome, open it again in Incognito, create a new login, confirm registration on email, add Dark Souls to cart, put in a Germany address, put in promo code - that finally did it. I used a VPN to use a Germany IP Address.

I've done that with both UK address/VPN and Germany address/VPN. Both are saying that it isn't available in my country. It's baffling.

Huh, that's odd.

My problem was the promo code was invalid - even while using a VPN. I figured it must be because I initially made my account without using a VPN (didn't know this was region-locked at first) and sure enough, that worked.

But 'not available in my country' is really strange. Don't know what you can do then.

I know there was a list of countries you could choose when you signed up, which country did you pick?

This is how I did it first time acquire tips from SG. Pretty simple.

1. Create an account.
2. Entered UK address
3. VPN is enabled on Chrome before visiting website again
4. Add Dark Souls to Cart.
5. Checkout w/ Code
6. Shows up 0.00, Place Order

That's it, enjoy dying!

No idea what I did but it worked.

Made a UK account with UK VPN. Accepted the promo code but got "not available in my country"

Made a German account with German VPN. Accepted the code but got the same message.

Made another UK account like the first. Accepted the promo code but same message.

Made another German account like the first. Accepted the promo code and the order finally went though.

The email I originally used to signup with was under a UK VPN and I said I was from the UK when it had asked, yet the code ended up working on a German account.

Exactly what I went through. Every time it accepted the address and the promo code while I was under a fresh browser running the relevant VPN. The order would show up as 0.00 but when I placed the order it would process for ~3 seconds and then I would get a message saying I either owned it(which I didn't on Steam nor in my Golden Joystick Store library) or that it wasn't available in my country. I would then check my Golden Joystick Store library each time it said that to see if it added it anyway and it didn't.

Regardless I finally got through the multitude of hoops and finally got it. Thanks for the help!

Stop trying to be reasonable when I am trying to stir the pot!

Epic is in a similar position to Valve, in that they really don't need to make games anymore. Valve has Steam and Epic has the Unreal Engine, which is also a license to print money. Having said that, I don't think Epic has any plans to open a competing store front. The launcher is mainly for the engine, though they are contemplating using it to monetize some of their free and experimental games. I just don't think Epic wants to be bothered.

Does anyone know of an authenticator application for android that supports steam so that I can use SDA or winauth and have a mobile application at the same time?
