I preordered from Best Buy for GCU, so I won't see any codes till release. I think Alan Wake and DLC will be listed as BC when Quantum Break comes out.

So The Division got a 6.7 from IGN.  I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive by mail, but is it really that "bad"?  Of course it will be more fun playing with friends, but one of the main complaints in the review was that there just wasn't much to do in the game.  Does anyone agree or disagree?

The LW I bought was horrendously misaligned. But, to be fair, the Master Chief I returned it for wasn't any better. That one didn't even have all of the screws tightened down properly. One side of the controller had a major gap that closed when you squeezed it a little bit. That was an easy fix though, so I ended up keeping it.

I'd probably give it a 7.5. The missions, especially the side missions, are very repetitive. The game is much better with friends but you can use matchmaking for any of the missions. The dark zone is very fun and overall the game is good.

Yeah i saw that last night. Kind of odd, i love the game. I play alone most of the time and still have a ton of fun with it. But yes, it would be MORE fun with friends for sure.

IGN is a bunch of crackpots.

They gave Destiny a 7.8 and it has a shit ton less content than The Division, even 1.5 years later.

 
Watch some streams/videos to get a better idea. TGN Squadron was a good source for me, seeing the team nature and how cheesy/spongy enemies got. I agree with Totalbiscuit's thinking that a guy in a hat shouldn't be taking that many bullets from realistic weapons. Apparently the dark zone is not as popular as the hype led us to expect and rogueing isn't worth it.
 
As much as I am enjoying The Division right now I am well aware that I likely will be done with it soon until more content is released. What is there is fun and addicting, but it just isn't enough to last a long time I feel like. Dark Zone is an interesting idea but really is just 'eh' to me. Right now my main problem is that there is no true "End Game" event.

Obvious Destiny comparisons exist but this holds very true in that throughout Destiny you were playing all of the Daily and Weekly events in order to get better gear for the end game Raids. There was a reason to push because you wanted the best gear so that you could tackle the hardest events in the game which hold (for the most part) the most rare and powerful items in the game. On top of that there are distinct PvP modes in Destiy to be able to then showcase those weapons outside of the PvE environment. The Division however is lacking a true end-game in my mind. The Dark Zone is fun but I would not consider that a true structured end game but rather another farming route with just an additional hurdle being random rogue agents... which is another rant because going Rogue does not really seem to outweigh the negatives. Going Rogue is supposed to be risky but the loss you experience once dying makes the entire experience not even close to worth it. Then come the Daily missions once you hit the level cap of 30. These events are just more hoards of enemies to fight. There is little additional challenges besides going from point a to b and killing those in between. That obviously doesn't sound all that bad for a shooter but it takes its toll when you have already been doing that exact same formula in all of the previous missions, not to mention that while impressive at first the environments themselves quickly all just blend together. I could go on but I am sure none of you have even continued reading this wall this far hahah. Do not get me wrong, I enjoy the game and have been playing it a bunch I just am not sure it has what it needs YET to really sink it's teeth into people for the long haul like most MMOs.

 
The Division is awesome. I've only played with other people and not solo, but it's definitely better than a 6.7. And how much content are they looking for, I've played for over 20 hours and still have a ton of missions to go

If I'm not mistaken, the only copies that work on One & Windows are digital copies. On live market you get a bonus $10 with the preorder, not sure where else to buy One copy digitally.

Preordering the physical copy doesn't get a code for PC, you get Alan wake AN code on launch and inside the box will be the codes for Alan wake and the DLC.

Some guy on XBA said a friend of his worked on the project and it will end up being an upconvert, not a full remaster. I hope he's a liar because that would be disappointing.
 
Anyone else having trouble with Castlevania?  I keep getting the "This game might not be playable yet" error.  I've done a hard reboot of the Xbox and still nothing.

UPDATE:  Not sure what happened, but I tried launching a few more times and it finally started. Odd... :/

I originally bought and beat Infinite on PS3, but I also bought the digital version a year or two ago when they were super cheap on XBL and was hoping for that to happen soon so I could finally try the DLC.

Possibly, but all three games have been in the "Even more favorite titles coming each month" section of the BC page for a long time. So who knows.

I haven't played any of them, so I'm in either way, but that is just crazy IMO. I can see only upconverting certain games, but not a series with the reputation this one has

His reviews are weird. I think he's the same guy who gave Evolve a 9, which has a lot less content than this game. Plus, IGN is all about Destiny, so any game that could be seen as similar to it will be marked lower.

For comparison, Gamespot gave it a 8, Polygon gave it a 7 and is a currently at 81 on metacritic.

 
I really doubt this is going to be anything but an upscale. They would have already announced it to play up they hype if it's coming out in two months. Not to mention Irrational is basically dead.

I think that's pretty ridiculous. I'm having more fun with it than expected. Maybe I had low expectations, but I'd give it more like an 8.

The only thing I don't like about it is that during long missions, it does not save at checkpoints like Destiny does. With a wife and kids, that kinda sucks to have to start a mission from the beginning again. Minor complaint but something that I appreciate from the Destiny side.

Yes, there is matchmaking for most things except the raids. Definitely the strikes have matchmaking. I've played hundreds of hours (until a couple months ago) and can't recall if stories have matchmaking (which is very sad for my pathetic memory), but I don't think so (but those can scale to your level usually).

Other than Story missions, Nightfall strikes, raids and Trials of Osiris (basically everything that gives you a high-enough reward) has matchmaking.

Nope, you're a lonely guardian, previously flanked by Dinklebot but that's thankfully changed now. There's more AI conversation than in Year 1 Destiny.

 
I hope Castlevania means Konami is totally on board with BC. I'd really like Metal Gear HD and Rising to work. And ZOE since I never finished it. I assumed their gaming suicide meant we wouldn't see anything, but hopefully it just means we won't get a bunch of remasters instead of BC.
