On a fun note, none of those fuckers showed up for work, and forgot to change the delivery date on 7 skids. Guess whose a warehouse worker for another company now?

He still consults for them fairly regularly, and we work with them directly on occasion. He's got the ear of the CEO and can still be considered a fairly large player in some of their business development without even working there. Obviously some people get caught up on that. I'm just the office kid, so if the annoying ones feel like tattling they think they can get on my bosses good side for the week if they've been annoying him recently or something.

I hate that petty shit. There was a manager in different department who liked to rat out people in my department. I am convinced at one point when her people sat behind us they were spying on us. She would walk by and if she saw you goofing off on the Internet or on your smart phone she would complain to our manager. I think once our manager didn't seem to give it the attention she thought it deserved so she went up the ladder to the VP (both mangers boss).

For whatever reason she never messed with me but did do it to at least two different guys in my department. One of my previous mangers, her and I would go out for lunch back in the day.

I know both of the guys in my department got written up over it. One had to resign over other issues and one was let go for performance issues. She went out on medical leave several times. Supposedly for a liver issue. Turns out she was a drunk. Finally she left the company. One of the guys I keep in touch with sometimes. He ran into her at a local bar (still a drunk I guess) and he made some really crude comment to her. She threw a drink in his face. I wish I could have seen that.

I some how seem to stay clear of most of this bullshit.

I just went and read some of the reviews and it sounds like the game is actually bad. not just pc nerds giving it da business. mucked up controls, boring gameplay, uninteresting fighting mechanics, etc. everyone says that it looks good and has a sweet metal soundtrack.

Seems most of the Slain complaints center around crap controls when using the keyboard, which is probably contributing to their negative view of the gameplay.  Everyone raves about the visuals though.

Just found out there is another brewery tap room (InBound BrewCo) opening up in the near future two blocks away from my new work building.  So that makes three in a two block radius.  Yay new job and beer.

Well the woman that's gonna be my project manager said during my interview that when she does people wrong or messes up she makes up for it by buying beer.

A good, privately hosted stream and a VPN is the wave of today. I found one for the New York Rangers last year through a Facebook group and it's sweet. It was better and more real time than the NHL one I was paying for.

I'm not sure if the guy sucks or if the weird swordplay is due to the control issue mentioned in the reviews. I didn't see the guy suffering any suspect deaths so the controls can't be too bad. In the first stage every enemy just walks or flies straight forward and makes short-range melee attacks. Second stage adds more enemy types--more of the same, but also ones with projectiles, the timing of their appearance gets a lot more challenging, and there's a boss with some bullet hell attributes. Instant death possibilities while platforming and dealing with ghosts flying around, too. I'm not sure where the boring gameplay comments are coming from if people are playing past the opening. 

Hard to comment on controls from videos, but the combat looks varied enough and the game is just plain gorgeous. As long as the PS4 port is okay and there's not a ton of complaints I'll definitely pick it up there.

I noticed a lot of the negative reviews showed they played less than half an hour, so probably not to be trusted with comments about variety or combat being boring.

I bet you aren't even really allowed to operate the forklift. Back before you were born I worked in a warehouse. You have to be "certified" to operate it. I ran it for a month before my manager figured out I never took the 'test'. When I went to take the test the maintenance manger (who gave the test) said you run it all day long this should be easy. Told me to go to the other dock get a stack of pallets. He didn't even watch me. I got back he said congrats you passed.

Here I think it is the same. The few times I need to get up high to run some cabling I have to wait till 1 of 2 people who are authorized are available to lift me up in a cage thing.

Well'p managed to not get run over by the forklift, and the delivery guy didn't fall out and break his leg or something. Small miracles. Feel kinda bad the guy had to help with all that though, hope he makes it to his next delivery on time.

Oh I'm positive I wasn't really supposed to do any of that. I don't even work for them lol. If something had gone wrong, it'd have been a nightmare. I did take some brief tests on that kind of stuff a couple years back when I worked for best buy, but hell if I really remember any of it. Watching that guy work the forklift though, it would have taken a decade for me to move any of those pallets, and I would have broken something and run into a wall.

 
so apparently those NX controller pictures were both confirmed as fakes?  geez.  I miss the days when a shitty photoshop was the best fake on the internet, but now elaborate schemes involving 3d printers are a thing.

On halloween a couple years ago, I was the last one here and the security system wouldn't activate, so I was wandering around the warehouse alone in the dark trying to figure out if one of the doors wasn't closed all the way. Felt like the beginning of a horror movie. Turns out, all the doors were closed, and my security code for the alarm system had been decommissioned. Since it was halloween, no one else was answering their phones so I got to chill in the dark for an hour waiting for someone to call me back with their code so I could leave.

Happened to me last night too lol.

This place is a fuckin trainwreck.
