just a heads up if anybody doesn't own new vegas it's five bucks for the ultimate edition at gamersgate, it usually seems to be like 6.67 or something on sale at steam...either price is worth it but five bucks for is more than worth it

Anyone who hasn't ponied up the $5 for a great game like Dark Souls yet should be ashamed!
Is dark souls 1 even has an active community on pc? The whole GFWL switch to Steam seemed to killed the community at one point.

I enjoyed dark souls 1 pvp more.

A heads up on the gleamsolver, always keep it up to date. The dev updated it yesterday and today to add random times between solving entries and delays to avoid detection

-edit

Im talking about this one, https://github.com/Citrinate/gleamSolver

Theres another gleamsolver out there but its not updated as frequently and wont auto-undo steam groups, so meh

I believe Binding of Isaac was the bonus (when it was still new-ish) to that bundle so for $1 I can't complain.  Even if the main game still isn't out of alpha after five years.

Having played through the entirety of Mad Max... yeah 32 GB is overkill. There's a lot of customization options for Max and the car, there's a lot of scenery to play in, and a hell of a lot of voice acting, but you'll be fighting the same mooks over and over (even the midbosses are the same character, just with a different skin.) Looking at the archive list, I guess they reuse lots of assets over various archives to keep loading times relatively low; and considering the game only loads ONCE (at least until you get your ass killed), it's pretty well done.

It's fun and well worth the Humble Monthly hit. It's just very repetitive and grindy, and getting enough scrap to upgrade Max and the car for the first half of the game can be a big pain in the ass sometimes.

Yeah I expect it to be Borderlands-ish/Fallout 4-ish fun. $12 on its own is meh. $12 for it and probably one or two other decent games is good.

It's fun.  It's absolutely repetitive and a ton of collectibles, etc but it's also easy to play in very small doses and always feel like you're accomplishing something and the driving and combat remained entertaining for me.  And, since the game is 92% driving and combat, that's a good thing (the other 8% is screen shot taking which is also fun).  It has one unfortunate mission sequence which feels terribly out of place but the rest of it is solid good times.

Quick weekend wrap up:

Unraveled: played the first level as Origin lets you demo it. Beautiful game with a fun platforming mechanic. Was distracted during the intro so I missed the story, but it'll be on my 75% off buy list.

Far Cry Primal: Played the first level and had fun. Another great looking game. So far the game play is just run of the mill survival with heavy hand holding and objectives and story. I like it, but I buy EA survival games. It does have some stupid moments like when a tribe member talks to you, but makes gestures like you don't understand even though you both speak the same language.

TWD Michonne Ep. 2: Telltale pumped this one out quick, which I like, but it was short. Only one hour so it seems like the mini series will be three hours total. You could probably play the whole game in one sitting. I like it, but I say wait until all three episodes are out and buy it on sale.

I found the doom beta incredibly generic console multiplayer fare. I had a real disdain for the lack of remapping ability, shit never worked for me so I deleted the beta. Also found forced motion blur etc annoying and incredibly off putting.

Considering two games, Guns Gore Cannoli and Wyv and Keep: The Temple. Both are on sale, but I'm trying to figure out which one to buy with the last $5 in my Steam Wallet. Reviews say GGC is 3 hours long and that W&K is best played in co-op and I rarely play games with other people. Suggestions on which game to buy?

Okay you really need to start using Enhanced Steam.

And wait for a Happy Hour.

Cannoli hasn't been in a bundle yet to my knowledge but surely will be at some point. And it's been on sale for $2.50 before too. Again, Enhanced Steam.

However if that $5 is absolutely burning a hole in your digital wallet and you truly think you will play it now then go for it. Otherwise wait.

Thanks for the tips. Still getting used to buying PC games, but I will look into Enhanced Steam.

Guns, Gore, and Cannoli has been on my steam wishlist for quite awhile now (I missed $2.50 sale) but I can assure you that the 50% off happens quite a bit... Might as well wait to see if the bundle happens unless its the next game you are going to play.

I've been playing doom and it was fun. I know it's a beta and is just a fraction of the game... But no way I'm paying $60 for it.

I really don't mind carrying only two weapons and that mechanic, since it is a frantic MP. I can't remember using a lot of weapons per life on quake 3 or Unreal. I used one or two according to the map. But... If you can carry only 2 guns on the main SP game... That can be an issue.

I had trouble finding matches yesterday, couldn't find one. Maybe because my region, but it is weird, there were plenty of them the day before.

Keep playing it and hyping it up so I can get excited about it again.

My kid was playing DA:I this weekend so I started thinking "Hey, I never finished that dagger rogue run. I should do that". First off, ever go back to a game after a year and realize you had completely forgotten how to play? "How the hell to I access my skills and what are these weapons for..?" But, more than that, I realized why I let the game drop off my second time through -- I was sitting on the cusp of the Senior Prom :speaktothehand:

I've been enjoying Doom MP Closed Beta (yay, we can finally talk about this game officially!), as well.

Doom MP here very much reminds me of a mix of Doom stuff (monsters, demons) and the fast Quake 3: Team Arena with its Team Deathmatch Multiplayer + a few twists of its own. The other MP Mode, Warpath, feels like a "Capture + Secure This Area" type of Team Deathmatch thing.

Sure, there's a few twists + turns here - as you can become a Demon if you get the Rune (oooh, that's fun to lay waste to enemies as you feel like some boss-like character for a short-time when you grab this rune) and the Painkiller-like reward cards system where you earn cards from playing...so when playing, you can use these cards that have boosts - i.e. see enemy's health, see who killed you last, more XP per kill, etc.

Though, while I do like team-based MP stuff and all - I do really wish there was also a FFA Deathmatch mode (Free-For-All), where it's every player for themselves, like real old-school Quake 3: Arena.

EDIT:

It'll be interesting once this Doom game releases to see how gamers take to the MP + see how much content it actually packs. I loved me some Doom + Quake back in the day, so this MP's right up my alley. Hopefully, all goes well...

hey guys sorry if its a little off topic.. i just ordered a new laptop with a 960m video card that can most likely play a lot of newer games.. i usually play on console but i noticed that sometimes games are much cheaper on pc anyways was wondering for phyical copies of games that come with serial keys, can you resell those after you beat them like you can with console games? or is it once you redeem the serial key it gets tied to your account or pc or something like that? thanks for your help :)...

on topic...for steam etc do AAA games ever go on sale? i still see games like the witcher 3 etc for 49.99! :) where are those sub $10 sales lol

Hmm just went to do the HRK build-a-bundle and noticed this option on the payment screen:

G2A Shield Subscription - Guarantee of successful purchase is DISABLED. Don't risk! Turn on G2A Shield!
G2A charges a monthly fee to guarantee a successful purchase?! Seems legit!

First, congrats!

Second, there is no resale market in PC gaming anymore. Even a box copy of a game usually only comes with a disc that installs steam/battle.net/uplay/etc and then you download the game from that site after entering a code.

Sales: Next major one is the Steam Summer Sale.

Next major Steam sale is the summer one but there's a lot of places to get games besides Steam. I'm on my phone so I'll let someone else run down the usual suspects but a few are either having or recently had spring sales.
