PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Best Buy finally sent me my MLB preorder bonus.  I got the Jose Altuve rookie card and then my best pulls from the packs were Elvis Andrus, Hanley Ramirez, and a couple 85 relievers.

A) Midnight Special was great!
B) I found a secret in Enter the Gungeon (no, really, so don't read if you don't want it spoiled):

there's a room you sometimes get with no enemies and a fireplace. If you have the snow ball gun, put the fire out with it. I'll leave the rest for you to figure out.

Damn I'm so salty right now.  I picked up some Panda Express just now and they forgot to put in my entree so I'm left with just rice.  It took like 15-20 minutes to get there through all the rain.

I thought you mentioned before that you didn't have people to play with. If you join the CAG clan, we always have people playing and doing stuff together.
When my clan started splitting off I just got tired of the arguing so I started playing solo on my k-a-n-a-m-i-t account. I'm also on PS3 only for Destiny so, yeah.

Dale Jr is talking about a mayo-banana sandwich he makes. Says it's a North Carolina thing.

I may have just lost some respect for him.

I think I just upchucked reading your post.

One of my favorite races is next weekend; Bristol. Although the Bristol night race is even better.

It is not just NC. It is a southern thing. My dad likes it too. It probably goes without saying since my mayo hatred is pretty well known, but it is disgusting.

On our local sports radio station the hosts were making fun of him and saying it was disgusting, until a listener made a bet with them that they'd like it if they tried it. They had a whole segment where they mentally prepared themselves and were ready to throw up, and then were all disappointed because they all actually enjoyed the sandwiches.

You'll never catch me eating one, though. fuck mayo.

And I just saw that Eye in the Sky movie about the drone strike.  It was pretty good, and it's Alan Rickman's last movie.  That Somali actor from Captain Phillips was in it, too - good to see him getting work, because he's a decent actor.  Aaron Paul looks surprisingly old, but of course he was good, too.

We saw that last weekend. We thought it was good too. Worth seeing.

Hate to say it to you childless losers, but Enter the Gungeon is a lot of fun coop. It's not easier, though, as it bumps up the enemy count. Actually it's a bit easier because there's revival chests and the second player's item can revive the main player once. We beat the first boss a couple times, but the second level deals out an ass-whipping.

If you do have somebody to play with, you switch to coop by having them login and then you talk to the purple guy who's now in the character select room.

Oh shit, you can only play co-op games with your kids now? Getting on making some of those then.

Minecraft eh? I guess this answers the question I had yesterday about why my trophy percentage went down slightly.
Oddly I was not even trying for the new trophies. I popped one of the old DLC ones on PS3 to keep the streak going. I am messing around uncovering all the map since they will likely add some of the current achievements from PC later as well.

I ate one of the apples I had in my inventory without paying attention and got the new trophy for the notch apple.

I'm sure glad you built that beacon now lol.

Recently I was able to play some Marvel Battlegrounds with my wife's kids so I thought I'd give some quick impressions for those of you suckers with kids of your own.

It's basically what I expected... a smash bros. ripoff with very little content.  Needless to say, I wasn't looking forward to it but it was fun for the couple of hours we messed around with it.  There are 6 stages available from the beginning and 2 more that can be unlocked for a total of 8 in all.  There's a story mode that is laughable, consisting of 3 or 4 of these stages with some cutscenes sprinkled in... literally took us around 20-30 minutes which is actually even worse than I expected, and that's saying something because if I lowered my expectations any more I'd have to set them on the ground.

Versus mode is actually pretty fun but I imagine it will get old pretty fast.  You can play with any marvel character released so far... you can even use ones that you don't own by spending trial tokens that you earn by playing the game and completing challenges (they give you 20 tokens to start).  Each week 3 characters are unlocked for free use... when the week is up those three are locked back up and you're given access to 3 different ones.

Characters are unlocked for play by simply placing the statue on the base and removing it... no need to keep them on the base at all during play.  This seemed awesome at first, until I realized the next time he started the game up that we had to place every single fucking one back on the base every time we played to re-unlock them.  Understandable from Disney's standpoint but a huge pain in the ass... there are ways they could have approached this differently but oh well.

The matches are fun though.  There's a lot of flare when characters use their special moves and there are different power discs that are dropped in the match for a sort of mini-power move.  But the flashy scenes that pop every time you activate a move or a disc are the only thing that really keeps it fresh so the legs on this one are going to be pretty short.

Well, a lot of people here don't seem to have anyone to play local coop with. Kids are awesome!
Uh, no.

The girls like to watch me play, then about 30 seconds they demand to be in charge. My 8 year old tried to play Lego Batman. She was more interested in switching characters repeatedly, going through the menus and laughing manically as she made the character fall to their doom.

To her credit, doing that stuff is actually more fun than playing Lego games the intended way.

Older gamer kids are awesome!

I'm definitely looking forward to meeting with eldergamer where he sips chardonnays and complains about hipsters while I'm drinking PBR and trying to make him watch a video of my kids singing.

I don't drink Chardonays. Only red wines please.

Thanks for the Marvel Battlegrounds impressions TipTop. I have it sitting in the closet with the rest of the DI 3.0 stuff to give the son for his birthday in a couple weeks. Looking forward to trying that part out.
