My friend was getting married to this girl that all of his friends hate first of all. She is hispanic, but she converted to islam for whatever reason. No judgment, freedom of religion, do whatever you want. But it basically just meant the ceremony (which was outside on a day that was waaaaaay colder than it was supposed to be) took a lot longer because all of his and her family wanted a traditional christian wedding and she wanted to add in a bunch of islamic stuff. So everyone was super miserable by the time we moved into the reception hall. And it was a dry wedding as dictated by her, again because of religion. Most weddings that are dry for religious reasons would mean at least one of the families would be fine with it, but since she converted, she was pretty much the only person there who wasn't mad that they weren't getting totally sauced. The place was also way too small for the number of people they invited and the eating and dancing was supposed to take place in the same small room. The food was served buffet style, so by the time it got to the last 3 tables (where all of his friends were sitting) there was next to nothing left. My exgirlfriend is a vegetarian and she literally only had rice. Meanwhile, there were plates piled high with food where the person ate two bites and decided they were done so it was all just trash now. And since everyone had to get their own food from the one buffet, people were already long done eating and trying to dance while we were just sitting down. We left as soon as we could without seeming rude and got some dinner. We still talk about how it was awful and everything that should be enjoyable at a wedding as a guest was
