PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Oh snap, looks like they are going to port 999 (the first game in the zero escape series) to Steam and Vita.

Looking for things to do in downtown Des Moines and I found an extreme music festival featuring such bands as Krotchripper and Medium Penis.

What's the thread favorite which wich now that I'm somewhere that has them?

Also gator, know any good Texas beers to try out down here? I'm going to look for some stuff from Jester King as I know they're supposed to have some good brews.
Jester King makes some great saisons, but I am not sure if that will be in your wheelhouse. The only Texas brewer I know that seems to make good IPAs is Saint Arnold. You really do not hear about too many Texas brewers being that great. I am sure there are some, I just dont really know them.

I have Shiner Wicked Ram IPA in my fridge. It's good but not great. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/143/186942/

A great Texas brewed IPA I had at a restaurant awhile back is Karbach's Hopadillo http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26762/72941/

HYYYYYYPE

And by that, I mean I'm in bed, barely awake, and don't really care that much, which is what I imagine Vigilante is really like when he types that. Unless he does get so excited that he runs around the room giving air high fives to nobody.

Wonder if it will be the DS version or the iOS version. And how they'll get around the two screen thing if it's the DS version.

I'm down for a Vita replay of the DS version, but probably not if it's a port of the iOS.

So here's the burger with the deep fried Mac & cheese bun.

Can't pick it up to eat it, but dear baby Jesus is it good. And my beer is basically passion fruit juice.

Des Moines is pretty baller people.

No, I stay in my chair for the air-high-fiving.

Please mail me one of those.

If only we had real time chat like discord so you could've seen this message before you left there.

The TRU I went to had a few EDFs, a ton of Fallout 4s for the PS4, 1 for the Xbone, and a handful of ESO for both consoles.  #greatwhitehope

Picked up ESO and EDF 4.1. I called to see if they had them instock and the girl told me they only had ESO. I told her online it showed stock for EDF so she asked for a WebR#. She tells me she found a copy in the back room as there weren't any copies o the floor. Luckily I had them put on hold and got these games for a great price.

Drove for a half hour out to the new Chick-Fil-A today. We had nothing better to do, really.

Amazingly, even though it's been open a month the parking lot was totally full and I could see that the line was nearly out the door.

We ended up just going through the drive through instead.

That said the breading on the chicken is pretty unique compared to other fast food places. Pretty good, actually. The fries could use a bit of work..

Pretty sure no one has ever used the word "baller" to describe Des Moines, Iowa before.

Yea I don't know how you guys can live in these hot climates. It's great for a vacation, but there's no way I could go to work and do normal life like this.

So that Up Down arcade bar is the truth. Lots of good local and unique brews and cocktails. Metric shit-ton of old arcade games and pinball. Played some Tron and Battletoads and X-Men and Marvel vs Capcom and NFL Blitz and Simpsons Arcade and Off-Road and Crazy Taxi. All in 2 for 1 tokens.

All while old episodes of American Gladiators and 80s WWF wrestling played on the TVs.

Can't wait for the one in the Twin Cities to open.

It was mid 90s here today, but dropping to low 80s for a high most of this coming week. Even some high 70s. Today I've pretty much just stayed indoors. Maybe should have gone to the pool, though.

All caught up on the thread. Always a busy week at work before I go on vacation. We're at the beach for a week, now. It's definitely no Iowa, but it will do.

Missing the Gamecocks in the NCAA Super Regionals (baseballs version of the Sweet Sixteen). They lost today, but they lost the first game last weekend and still managed to advance.

Not missing the weather in Columbia, though. Supposed to be upper 90s to triple digits most of the week at home. Mid 80s at the beach with a nice breeze of the ocean.

HYPED for Rise of Iron!

What can you tell me about Marcus Mooney? The Braves took him yesterday. From what little I've read, he puts the ball in play a lot.

I'll give that hoppadillo a try. Shiner I can get in WI. Seems Karbachs and deep ellum are the widely available beers around here that we don't get.
I don't drink the IPAs but if you're near Deep Ellum you should hit up one of the places. Most of them have some good stuff on draft or bottled.

I can ask my local beer friend what he likes since he's into hoppy stuff.

I just held up my DS lite to my vita. The height of the Vita screen is basically the same as the width of the DS screens. The width of the Vita is greater than the height of both DS screens. So I suspect they will offer a purist mode in which you play the game in a vertical orientation with the same information on the screen as the DS version and a new mode that puts as much information as possible on one screen.

In sampling a little of a 999 walkthrough there are a great many instances where either the top screen or bottom screen is showing something not important that they could easily not need to display it. In situations where 2 screens are required in the horizontal mode they will probably put them side by side.

There's still one problem, though:

(999 spoilers)

Isn't a big twist of the game on DS the fact that the bottom screen is from the past's perspective (young Akane) while the top screen is the present (Junpei)? I'm not sure how the OS version addressed that.

I like the philly cheesesteak. It's not like it's the best ever, but they actually have wiz cheese which is basically impossible to find at most places. Basically everyone just puts provolone on it, not even close to the same.

That sounds like it's kinda going overboard on the nostalgia.

One of the barcade's in Portland has 90 games. (I actually felt "old" being there. I might have been the only person there above 35)

http://groundkontrol.com/arcade/

I haven't been to the new barcade that charges a fee for entrance.

Finally reached Mt Gagazet in FFX-HD.

It's starting to feel like a bit of a grind now, especially since I can one-hit-kill most monsters, and I'm not relying on strategy like the earlier battles.

Let's see if I feel like doing all this monster collecting and ultimate weapon stuff once I get to the end.

The Sphere Grid grinding is more real than those other two. If you're one shotting most enemies, throw a monster-capturing weapon on everybody and collect monsters as you progress through the game.
