PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Anybody been watching the new season of Wayward Pines? I saw the first two episodes, and they were pretty not good.
We've watched through the third so far, and yeah it's not great. They made a lot of dumb decisions at the end of last season since they thought it was a one season show. Season 1 was good for the first half, then kind of tanked. Now this season has the typical summer show feel of "I really shouldn't watch this, but there's nothing else on."

It's currently freezing in my house, but I don't wanna turn the AC off because I know it'll stop working once it hits 85+ outside. The assholes can't come look at it until Thursday.

Don't they know you are a VIP? You should buy the HVAC company. Fire everyone.

Seriously though not getting service for 6 days is BS. I texted my guy on Thursday to have him take a look at our system. It is working but want to have him check the Freon level. He said he would get to me this week but if there is an emergency he would fit me in.

Never noticed this before but on XBoner in the network section it has a bandwidth stats section.

Pretty cool being able to see if the download is really going slow or if you just think it is.  Keeps monthly stats (mine were zero for some reason) and the last 24 hours by hour as well as current download speed.

Even on wireless I was getting almost 50Mbps (which is what I pay for).

Wish Sony would add a screen like this.

Raining and humid like a mofo outside and my car won't start.  Battery doesn't even have enough juice to power my quick starter either so I have have to go buy a new battery today, so that's fun.  Working from home in the meantime.

At least it is nice day to be off (E3). Although I guess Sonys conference is tonight anyway.

Was out of the loop all weekend, didnt even know that there was stuff yesterday for e3.

Skyrim remaster is great, fallout vr might get me to actually buy vr, and more fallout 4 dlc. Good stuff.

Yeah we'll see if my home internet holds up. The theater I'm going to for the conference tonight is right by work so it actually works better fro me to be there today. Oh well. Whatcha gonna do.
Would have been better for the battery to die tomorrow morning. Much worse dying tonight when at the conf.

Enjoy the show sucks about the car but at least you weren't stranded somewhere and it is a fairly cheap fix.

Speaking of, how many of us are going to the sony deal at a theatre?

Really hope the gift bag stuff is better than last year, year before last was pretty decent (destiny alpha and pretty sure 10 psn monies) last year was shit.

Oh yea, gonna be a great day, leaving at noon, house walk through at 130, hang out after that for a bit then head to opry mills for sony e3 fun and frivolity.

Last year was $3 PSN monies and...what? I can't even remember the other stuff.

And I'll be there--Opry Mills. I'll be the dude with the other dude. You might see me.

Is replacing a car battery yourself doable?
When I was about 19 my step brother laughed at me when I said I had to go to Auto Zone or wherever to change a battery. As a grown man you should be ashamed for asking this question.

Having said that if you can go to Auto Zone do it since they change it for you and its part of the battery price anyway. fuck getting dirty if you dont have to. Though I know your stranded right now so that doesnt help.

You can, but you don't really need to if your current battery is doing well enough to drive it. Where are you getting the replacement battery? Autozone and the like will swap it out for free while you're there. Plus they'll give you a small discount for trading in the old battery, I think.

Edit: Oh, just saw you can't start it. Don't have a stick for a rolling start?

My battery is dead. Won't even power accessories like radio or cig lighter. Wife is coming back from boyfriends to try to jump and maybe bringing a new battery with her. That's why I was asking if I can install myself because my car is stuck at home.

Why are you sure it's the battery? If you can get a jump I'd drive it to Autozone and have them run diagnostics on it to be sure. Sucks to drop ~$100 and find out that wasn't the problem.

For any car that any of us are likely to drive, yes. My last car actually was a bitch and required a special tool and it was a Chevy. It was one of few cars on the list that places like Sam's and Auto Zone would not even replace the battery for free with purchase.

The windshield washing fluid reservoir was on top of the battery and held in place with a metal rod over the top of it. You had to remove the metal bar, remove the reservoir, then have a foot long socket extension to get to the bolts holding the battery in place. So fucking stupid.

So either you have a car like that, or it is easy. If you have one of those, they won't do it for you anyway.

Doesn't nothing being powered and to turn over mean battery? Dash notification lights and a very dim some light are all I got.

Holy shit I remember someone had one of these. Of course only an American car could be engineered so shitty.

I don't know what this means.
If your car is manual you can get the car rolling while holding down the clutch, then once you get a bit of momentum you pop it into second and the wheels engage the engine, kicking it on. Takes a bit of timing but it can be very helpful.

Not necessarily. You could have had a power drain like the lights left on or something, which wouldn't require a replacement battery, just letting it charge a bit. Or you could have a good battery but a bad alternator so the battery got drained over time. Replacing the battery would be a temporary solution--it'd work fine until, due to lack of the alternator charging it as you drove, it would eventually not have enough charge to start the car either.

Automatic transmission so nope. I finally understood your original after Wren's post.

Depending on the car stereo you might need to enter a security code after your replace the battery. Only affects the radio though.

Should be easy to swap out on most cars. SOME can be a PIA. Really depends on location and access. Both my car and wifes car are pretty easy and I have done them both a couple of times.

You should be able to Google the make and model you have and find someone on youtube doing the swap to see what you might be in for. Or just open the hood and look.

My door was found not completely shut after I returned for the weekend so that's probably the cause. But the quick charge thing I bought said if no power is going to the cig lighter then you need pro help or new battery.

Stick can be fun to drive but it does put a limit on who else can drive your car. That can be both a good and bad thing. I really enjoyed my last couple of cars, both of which were stick. It's nice being able to ride the clutch while coasting to red lights or force the car to switch gears whenever you want to pass somebody quickly. I actually got really good mileage with my cars due to the way I handled them.

Driving a stick or any manual in a city is stupid and NEVER fun.  If you live in the middle of nowhere and can drive how you like maybe it is fun, but it is still more work than you need to do.  Why not just jam on the accelerator and watch the world go by?

Yeah if you had a power drain I'd definitely jump it, let it run for a while, then drive it over to Autozone. If you need a new battery that's fine but it probably just drained too much due to the light being on.

Eh. It's a chore in stop-and-go traffic, sure, but everything else is fine. I've driven stick around Houston and Nashville for years with no issues. Makes driving a lot less boring for sure.
