Of course I never get any of the free money they send out,I did however get to pay them $50 for a new power supply that the preview update fried and they deny its their fault even though I've seen other people say the same shit happened to them.

Where are you hearing this? It doesn't make sense for one thing, and because I think Rod Ferguson said there will be a frame rate difference between the regular Xbox and the S on Gears of War 4

Well Rod Ferguson has already stated games can run better on the Xbone S, with Gears 4 having better performance and being able to utilize HDR, so I doubt going from Xbone --> Xbone S --> Scorpio won't produce noticeable differences.

Anyone have trouble with XBL right now? Rocket league is showing not logged into servers, I can't even get into the xb1 store.

I did a hard reset on my xb1 and even did a line test on my Internet connection via speedtest(tested normal) but I'm having zero luck.

I was hoping to get a few rounds in, but it's looking to be an early bedtime for me tonight.

EDIT: The console is showing as connected to XBL, but when I test the connection via console it's saying it can't connect. :/

Sounds like 85% of the time when I turn my system on.

Sometimes it requires me to hard reset, log out when it auto log in and log in and then it works.

I had the same problem but it cleared up after playing exhibition mode and going back.

Even though yesterday wasn't the weekend anymore, my Xbox one glitch started the game still even after the message came up to go the store. Haven't been able to replicate it since.

The only 360 game you'd ever have interest in playing again on a newer console is Rock Band Blitz? In the console's 10 year lifespan? Wow. Rock Band Blitz was a good game, but I can't even count how many games I want BC. I'll be keeping my 360 around, but it would be nice if I had access to my games again if my 360 dies, especially since I can't see PC's emulating 360 any time in the distant future.

Also, I'm crossing my fingers in hopes that Rock Band Rivals will have some sort of Blitz mode. It can't be entirely out of the question.

Absolutely. Campaign is a bit disappointing compared to the other Halo games, but the multiplayer is possibly the best ever made for an FPS. The limited includes a few ingame packs that alone would cost about 15$ iirc.

Speaking with Eurogamer today at E3, Xbox planning lead Albert Penello stated that the additional CPU and GPU access granted to developers for Xbox One S in order to enable HDR will have "literally no impact" on the performance of games.

Sounds like there's confusion because enabling HDR itself will improve image quality, but they seem insistent that (for now) this won't create tiers of games. We'll see a couple years after Scorpio is out and they could phase out FatXBones (remember FatX?) and unlock the hardware for performance gains.

If MS can communicate their plan to consumers well enough, I think having two tiers of console will actually be great for developers and gamers. Enthusiasts can have a mid-high power machine without bothering with drivers and self-troubleshooting, and casuals and families can have a decent entry level gaming setup built into a high fidelity media plyer.

Maybe Best Buy will give $400 trade ins for the X1 like they did with the $306 360 trade in that one Sunday morning. That's where I got my X1. That's probably why I'm not salty about anew console - I didn't pay for the one I've got, Best Buy did. :)

Integrated power supply and smaller? The slim risks being way louder, using a smaller fan spinning faster to move all that heat out of such a small space... Someone will hopefully post those details sooner than later.

Nintendo's "huge E3 sale," is what Xbox owners get every week. Lots of repeats and not much discount digitally vs retail. A decent chunk can actually be purchased retail for much cheaper.

I just recently finished up Gone Home via PS+. Much better than Lifeless Planet IMO(that's the only other "walking simulator" I can compare it to which I've played). Good story but definitely not worth more than $10. Glad I didn't bite when it was $13 on xbl a few weeks ago. Little replay value unless you go for achievements and mop up the rest
 
I am even more excited for Titanfall 2 now that they already announce all map DLC is free.  I am sure that means some sort of cosmetic micro-transactions but I am fine with that.  The spokesperson said it would definitely not be some type of "pay to win" model.  Uncharted 4 does the same thing and it is fine.

I wonder if people are thinking "XBox S" is just a shorter way of saying "XBox Scorpio".

Well this week's sale isn't a total bust.  Picked up Tekken Tag and would have gotten Crash if I didn't already have those games on Playstation.

Meanwhile, I took a break from Mark of the Ninja (pretty good game) and tried out Dirt.  Not terrible but I could have done without all the introductory screens.

I doubt it will be louder, the hardware probably runs cooler anyways. The integrated power supply is a question, but we will see. They have also indicated it will see a small performance boost (probably to support 4k video) which some games (Gear 4 is mentioned) might take advantage of. I was first like "nope, will wait on Scorpio", now I'm interested assuming there is a good trade in deal. But, the XBox One as it is runs really cool and quiet (especially compared to the PS4 which sits right next to it) so I might just wait.

No one even knows this information yet. Hell no one even knows this week was E3 unless someone who plays video games like us tells them about it or they see it on some head line.

 
I feel like such a whore. I went ahead and pre-ordered Fractured But Whole, started my X1 play through of Stick of Truth. This'll be the 3rd platform I own the game on and like the 8th play through. I sorta feel dirty.

Played through The Park last. It was short, but okay. Very linear walking simulator that's hook is a creepy vibe and some jump scares. Would recommend for $5 or so if you enjoy the genre
 
Man that Halo Wars 2 beta is so jacked. If it's not freezing on launching the tutorial or title screen (and it is 75% of the time), it's letting me into a game but then kicking everyone 10 minutes into the game. Great job.

This perspective is the most positive I can feel about this future that is being envisioned for console gaming. However:

- Mid-generation my ass. The Scorpio will be Microsoft's next generation console which happens to be 100% compatible with its predecessor's games.

- The current generation of consoles will be a short one. The subsequent ones will probably be so too if this shift in paradigm turns out to be profitable.

- Not only will it be short, it will also be a bust. Where are the new IPs and the console exclusives? We've gotten mostly indies (many of which debuted on PC), cynical ports and HD(er) remasters.

OK, we did get a staggering amount of controller editions and the elite variant of it. Yay...
