These Mighty Number 9 scores are not surprising in the least. It was delayed a hundred times and the most recent gameplay trailer looked awful. This is why I never do Kickstarters. Except for this one. DAY ONE.

I did back Shenmue 3. More for Nostalgia than anything else, but it actually seems like its coming along.

Disappointed to see MN9 is bad, but like Blink said, not surprising at all.

Shenmue 3 is co-funded by Sony so it's guaranteed to come (sooner or after).

I'd probably back a good Wipeout-clone for Xbox.

 
Now that we mention it, did anyone else Backed up/ is looking foward for   Yooka Laylee? Im sure that Im glad that I backed that ONE up, lets completely forget about MN9 for now

 
Wow! WTF, happened here? Those screenshots look awful. I would be disappointed if I was promised a next gen 2D/3D side scroller and ended up getting a Sega Genesis clone. I initially felt so bad for not jumping on the Kickstarter, not anymore.

I backed it for $15 or whatever the lowest tier was. Whatevs, I've wasted $15 on worse things than a mediocre Mega Man clone.

I do feel sorry for people who backed it to the tune of hundreds of dollars, expecting a home run MM successor. At least the game is actually coming out though, that's more than some Kickstarters can say.

Damn.....that Mighty No. 9  review swayed me. It's one thing to look like a cheap version of Mega Man X8, but slowdown and input lag is unacceptable. 

I'll just wait until it's $15 on Amazon or something.

I backed both MN9 and Yooka Laylee. Watched a recent Yooka trailer, still looking forward to it, but haven't really kept up on news about it.

Since you are one of the few backers of the game and therefore have so much pull with them, can you have them correct the spelling on the title of the game?!?

I personally found the map to be less unhelpful than expected b/c of the perspective. Probably just me being old school/old fart. But the game is hella fun!
 
My Xbox One has been having problems for about a year now. It takes about 30 seconds to load the power options when I hold down the guide button, the store is unusable and freezes frequently, my Games and Ready to Install lists are beyond sluggish and freeze for a few seconds if I scroll too fast, and I have to factory reset from a flash drive as the one in the dashboard just freezes the Settings app. I also don't get party or achievement notifications even though they're turned on. I get "Ready to Play" notifications several minutes after a game has finished installing. Some achievements don't unlock until several days later when I'm not even playing them.

So all of the current "issues" with the new beta are fortunately/unfortunately camouflaged in my tragedy of a console. I posted on the official Xbox forums and support just shrugged.

Sounds like you need to trade in for a new console (possibly an S if you can hold out that long). How old is your console for it to be acting in such a manner?

I wouldn't quite say it's fair to judge other Kickstarter games quality solely by Mighty No. 9's badness. It's more of a warning bell that's already been rung time and time again by a few high profile devs (and multiple times by Double Fine alone). MN9 has probably taken the crown of worst post campaign reputation. Controversy after controversy after controversy, the creator trying another Kickstarter which had it's own backdoor shady deals well before this was out, going to a big publisher that seemed to slow down production along with creating a physical copy of the game that was NOT given to any backers. The list goes on and on.

I think it's more a reflection of the developers running each individual game. Anyone paying attention to this games development started to see it was going to be meh at best quite awhile ago. Compare KS games that ended up good like Shovel Knight, Skullgirls DLC, or Freedom Planet, to bad or half-baked games like MN9 or most of Double Fine's efforts and the difference is clear.

I still have hope for Bloodstained, and what I've seen so far has stayed in the realm of expectations I had. As long as you keep in mind the nature of Kickstarter and learn from creators blowing it or showing shit business practices, I think it's still a valid platform that can lead to great things. Getting burned on a bad one is just like getting burned on a season pass purchase, and can easily be avoided by waiting. If few enough people believe the creator can actually deliver, they simply won't get funded.

I wonder how much ReCore had to do with Mighty No. 9 being ass. I am hopeful for ReCore but after Mighty No. 9 I am highly cautious.

 
Isn't Mighty Number 9 the game where they raised the price of the physical copy ONLY because they wanted it not be in the bins of games at Walmart/Target/Etc....???

Something to do with if a game is over a certain price, it will be on a shelf, not in a bin. That's the only reason they raised the price of the disc

Jokes on them, my WalMart chucks everything in their bins

 
Even some of the "bad" reviews had some good things to say about Mighty No. 9. Definitely did not live up to the hype but since I already have it coming, I'm going to at least give it a shot.

The graphics certainly did not turn out like they should have. And I still think some of the negativity may be coming from how poorly the whole game development cycle was handled.

Still, I'll see how it is and if it is that bad...I'll trade it in. Hopefully at least recoup the $10 net I paid for it.

BTW, how long does it usually take to get the $10 pre-order bonuses from MS? This is actually the first preorder I've done from the MS Store.

I hope this doesn't discourage people from Kickstarting games in the future. After all, Shovel Knight and Amplitude were fantastic.

Prediction for Date Night: Capcom sale to celebrate the return of Resident Evil with RE7.

People are talking like Mighty No. 9 is complete trash. It's still not even close to the worst reviewed game of the year. Currently hovering around 60 on Metacritic. Homefront, for instance, is around 45.

Going to have to rely on Store Parser tonight, MS made a change to the marketplace site that is preventing my script from connecting.  I see Store Parser picked up some drops in the past day, so I don't know if this is just a very recent thing with the marketplace or if Store Parser is logging in differently than I am.
