Steam wallet reminds me of that episode of Beavis and Butt-head when they're supposed to be selling candy bars, but they use $2 from one sale to "buy" the rest of the candy bars from each other.
What if we are all just trading Madjoki's steam wallet funds back and forth, mind blown!

That's true for hundreds of games now -- tons have been cheaper in past sales.
Terraria is only 50% off, this is officially the worst Steam sale ever!

I do think the refunds have a lot to do with it. I don't necessarily think their worth the crappy sales. I mean I refunded one game, but I would have been fine keeping it too. But I used to think refunds were conceptually a good thing, now I know the error of my ways and the filthy europeans and their consumer rights.
Don't forget the filthy no longer European English. And the filthy no longer European but mad at the English and want to become European again Scots and Northern Irish.

Any thoughts on Windward? Is it fun? Worth the purchase? Kinda interested in it but it looks like it would be a good fit for the HB Monthly.
I love it, but I've always had a soft spot for naval trading games. Windward is heavy on the grind, and it's mostly basic combat and fetch quests with some ship/base management mixed in.

Can be fun in multi-player, although we only lasted about an hour when broing it up.

I stuck with it for able 25 hours before getting overwhelmed by the gigantic world I had seeded.

Also ,it was stupid hard to fill up a four-pack.

It's worth noting that Windward is one of those games CAGS dismiss as will be bundled but so far it hasn't been in over a year (and I think Early Access before that?)

I still see the game for sale on Steam?

Also in honor of his passing, I propose this be Motoki's new hairwhip.gif

RIP Bud Spencer.

I had a great time with that game. I went into it knowing nothing about the story line and I think it was way better than both the walking dead games. It is worth the money at either price.
I also knew nothing about it and enjoyed the game, but in no way was it better than the first season of The Walking Dead. I cared for not one of the Fables as I did for Clementine. I would put it over season 2 though (I still need to finish that).

IMO both of The Walking Dead seasons are better than The Wolf Among Us. First episode of The Wolf Among Us starts out really good but it keeps going downhill in quality after that.. The Walking Dead seasons on the other hand start out slow, but get better as they go on.

Bleh I stopped caring about any of them fairly early on once I realized it's all on the rails and no matter what you do the same shit happens anyway. Even if I choose to save person X once that option comes up in story they've got the Grim Reaper hanging over their heads and it's only a matter of time before they're offed so that Telltale doesn't have to make alternate versions of all the dialog for all the chapters and the 20 sequels they will inevitably keep doing.

Steam sale still sucks.

In other news...one of the few games I did buy was Transistor. I played it yesterday and it was disappointing. I also thought Bastion was overrated (although I did like it...and I like it more than Transistor), so maybe I just don't get the hype behind Supergiant games. Both the games are fine but I don't get why Bastion is such a critical darling; Transistor also reviewed well but I don't think it was quite as well as Bastion. Should've waited for a bundle.

I just cant push myself through season two. Season one, sometimes I wasnt ready for the next episode, emotionally, cause I knew it would be a downer, but I just *had* to see it through. Season two has just been fit and starts. It's kinda cool being smart alec Clem
Telling Carver "I wish Kenny would have killed you." with narrowed eyes was a particular treat.
but no real other investment.

TWAU was at least an unfamilar setting and being a badass Wolf was kinda fun. I at least cared enough to complete it (finally). Just cant find the same motivation for TWD:S2.

So bla bla it'll be bundled yadda yadda but Shadwen is much cheaper than its regular summer sale price if you own all the other Frozenbyte games, which if you buy bundles you probably do.

60% is not terrible for a month old game, but yeah it will end up in a Humble someday for sure.

Amazing and really fun. Not sure how many hours I played but I didn't walk away from it because I was bored of it... Just got busy.

My four pack wasn't too hard to fill but I was the Leaf Erickson of four packs to indef's Christopher Columbus.

I think Real World Racing has been removed from Steam.

Any news as to why?

I should have just watched the Transistor trailer, listened to the soundtrack and skipped playing the game and would have come out ahead.

Anyone have issues with steam wanting you to rebuy shit you already own in a "complete your collection" bundle? Was trying to pick up the "God Bundle" which consisted of 2 shit games with cards for cheap. Keeps wanting me to also buy a third shit game I already own when I add to cart. Displays correctly before adding it though.

I haven't tried to buy any bundles this sale but the same issue was with the Endless Legend/Space/Dungeon bundle a while back. They finally fixed it at the zero hour before the deal expired but it kept trying to make you repurchase Endless Legend with it because it was in the database as a different product than the "original" Endless Legend.

Same thing happening with the platformer bundle adding BEEP for me even though I own it. From madjoki on SteamGifts:

This is because BEEP from steam store gives free soundtrack for some reason and cd-keys do not.

Bundle system doesn't work properly when there is differences like these.
Looking at the God bundle, The Howler also has a soundtrack DLC like BEEP does so I'm guessing that's the one getting added for you even though you already own it.

Same issue with TinyBuilds Mega Bundle. It worked fine, but they updated and now it's not-working (forces to rebuy Punch Club unless you have deluxe, which most of us don't have since they got free keys)

That bundle would be sweet if only they didn't cheap out on the bundle discount. Seriously, 5%? Not even Ubisoft is that stingy.

I like when my +1s turn into +3s.
It's not like like Serious Sam isn't on sale all the time anyways, but Serious Sam Classics Revolution is on the Steam sale for 99 cents, and comes with Serious Sam Classic First Encounter and Serious Sam Classic Second Encounter.

It's the other way around... since we got Classics Revolution for owning Classic First and Second. (Or maybe it was Classic First only?)

That says nothing about it's removal from steam. That is a post from January and says that they are putting all their resources into a new and better Real World Racing 2. There is a post later in the thread about the cancellation of the sequel but then nothing else about the company going under or the game being pulled.
Scroll down. There's more. And if that's still not enough for you then go ask them.

TL;DR they went tits up.

"A few key people in the team left, and Playstos refocused on projects other than self-publishing games, leading to the cancellation of RWR2."

That doesn't really say that the company is dissolved or anything but whatever.

I apparently have the Punchclub version is wants but still Party Hard is only 16 cents less with the bundle discount then without. meh.

Been adding things to my wishlist. Thanks to this thread I added about 4 or 5 games. Also anyone have any experience with The Long Dark? It's on sale for $6.79 looks pretty good.

So my birthday is in two hours and I'm about to do something that may make Activision and Disney/Marvel super angry at me, so fuck it.

You can still log onto the stand alone GFWL client and download games through it if you bought any. There were a few massive discounts back in the day. Though the client is a pain to install on Windows 10.

Thank you for this. I thought my windows marketplace games were dead and buried since I couldn't access my activation keys any longer. I contacted support a few months ago without any results but all was working today and Viva Pinata is alive and kicking again!

This was actually one of the reasons I didn't want to restart with a fresh version of windows 10 since some windows marketplace games still work for me on windows 7.

fucking internet, you let me get sucked down these rabbit holes to perverted shit.

It all seems so innocent at first, oh sales on grandma games

Oh wolves, they're like dogs but wild. Cool enough. And free games? Who doesn't want that?

I bought The Long Dark during the 2014 Winter sale at 50% off. I believe that was right after regional trading/gifting on Steam officially died. Those were good times... *sniff sniff*

Sorry I had to reminisce.

I've only put a few hours into the Long Dark but I liked it from what I can recall. It's pretty challenging and you can die quickly if you aren't careful. Looks like they've added quite a bit since I last played with new locations, game fixes, and more gear items. They still haven't added story mode which is included in the Early Access price, but that probably won't happen until the game is fully released. It was rumored at one point that Jennifer Hale would voice one of the playable characters, although I'm not sure if that's still true.

If you like atmospheric survival games that don't hold your hand then $6.79 isn't a bad price, plus this is a new all time low. If you do buy it and find yourself playing in the snowy mountains, just don't try throwing random objects at the wolves, it doesn't end well.
