I own every game except Rapture and N++ already.

Deathspank is great but the sequel is meh...or it's also great but exactly more of the same and you don't need to play both even if you think you do,

 
Still no sale on The Witness, which BTW, I asked about on Twitter to the dev regarding whether it would be a part of the mid-year sale (it was discounted on Steam at the time). To which they replied that they'd "love" to do a promotion with Sony but haven't been asked to.
 
No sale on bloodborne dlc.

Tragic how long its taking to go on sale.

Am I the only one who is still waiting for the good games to get a "good" sale.... This has by far been the worst summer sale I have ever seen since I have been gaming. First time I have never bought anything during the summer sales. Xbox one sale was trash so I guess it seems like PlayStation sales are trash too. No purchases made this year even Gamestop be selling some these games cheaper then they supposed "sale". Even the E3 sale a couple weeks ago was better then this smh. Step it up Sony don't you want my money?

I loved the last 2 weeks of Sony sales, bought around 20 games total. The Xbox sale was a little more bleh for me as I only bought 3 games.

I just checked my receipts and 23 games total during these last two weeks (13 -Week1, 10-Week2). The last couple weeks have been pretty great (especially the quality of stuff in week 1). In June I bought Child of Light Ultimate, Zero Escape VLR, and Kenka Bancho Badass Rumble in a great sale... but eariler in the month was that excellent sale with Mega Man Legends 2 and Capcom Classics Reloaded being cheap (along with the PS3 bundle of Monster World games) which broke my lack of purchasing anything (except Tom Clancy's End War) since back in Feb when I grabbed Persona 4 Golden really cheap. From late Feb to early June it was pretty dead for sales of anything I was interested in. Which was nice as I spent so little on games.

Not to get any ones hopes high but if things match up with last year, this weekend should be the flash sale.

I like that Star Trek dynamic theme but there's TOO MUCH GODDAMNED noise during it.

I don't need every sound effect played every second.  Maybe if the sound effects corresponded with any user input, it would be tolerable.

For this week's sale, I'll just wait for the ones I don't have to become free in the future.

 
All I want is Strike Suit Zero to go on sale. Heard it went cheap back in July 2015, so hopefully it happens again soon.

I friggin' know if I buy it at full price it'll be on sale the following week.

Oh good lord, take caution my friend. I got that game as part of Xbox's games with gold and hated it. Absolutely hated it. The controls were atrocious and it felt like a half baked PS1 game. Not joking or exaggerating at all.

I mean, I've played, and it wasn't really my thing... but PS1, seriously? I think if someone is really into the genre they'd dig it.

 
damn, I knew there was going to be no good deals for me this week. still hoping for valve to put portal 2 on sale or maybe make it a ps plus game. I always like the idea of taking an old dying multiplayer game and resurrecting it. It is funny knowing that CS GO is on the ps3 and would be a neat ps plus title.

Yikes. I keep hearing mixed things about the controls, but this is making me want to pass on it.

Maybe I'll just stick with Gundam Encounters in Space to get my giant robot fix.

 
There was no "more deathspank" shaped hole in my life after the first and I don't think I want to meet the sort of person who goes in for two helpings and wants a THIRD.

 
Been waiting for a sale on N++ for awhile, patience has finally paid off. Loved the original, I'll be getting that for sure this week.

I think you might the only one because I don't recall anybody else complaining that the 2 week sale sucked. The second week was definitely the weaker of the two but still overall there were plenty of worthwhile games at 60-90% off. Also, I'm curious about which games were cheaper at Gamestop...

With the last few weeks of sales, and probably even longer.. having a ton of stuff on sale, this week shows 23 games.

If there is no flash sale this weekend, an entire week with 23 games on sale.... fail.

Current "sale" games have been free PS+ titles except:

Journey

The Baconing

N++

Everyones gone to the Rapture

19 of the 23 games have been free in the past, Sony will not be selling much without a flash sale. Horrible strategy.

I'm betting there is a flash sale, or Sony dropped the ball big time.

They just had several weeks of massive sales, and one slow week is them 'dropping the ball'. Lol.

 
Sony's sales are meant to actually have people BUY things.... so they put a sale out there that the majority of the games were already given away to PS+ members. 

Frisky could answer this better, but when was the last time there were so few games on sale? I have always remembered seeing 40-50 games at a minimum on sale, not 23 with 19 being PS+ titles.

If you are going to have a small sale like this, don't make most of the games on sale be PS+ titles.

 
Odd that there are sales that had ps+ games, because, you know everyone has kept plus for the entire duration all those games were free. You also has new console owners that may buy those games on sale. Not every sale is meant for every gamer.
 
Well they just finished two weeks where 300 total games were on sale so historically they have a week where almost nothing is. This many PS+ titles is likely unprecedented though. There's been a couple weeks over the last year where there's been under 10 games on sale not counting price drops. This is a "bad" sale because most of us have it all but at least the games are mostly good and it's nice having a sale on last year's Play games before this year's starts.

This may shock you, but the majority of PS+ people don't grab the games that are offered.

There are about 46 games on sale right now, if I'm counting correctly.

I'm not really sure what the problem is supposed to be.

In All Deals reducing the list to games & bundles there is QBert (cross-buy so the 3 copies count as 1 and even then this game has been on sale, I think, since launch), The Loot bundle, The Banner Saga Complete Pack (bundle of both games), The Banner Saga, Color Guardians (cross-buy), Daydreamer Awakened Edition, and Fluster Cluck. I'd count that as 6 games despite 1 being on permanent sale and another being a bundle including one of the games being sold separately on sale.

Re-Play sale has 11 games (as I think all are crossbuy). I'm not counting the soundshapes addon dlc as a game. It's on sale as are a bunch of icons and themes in the All Deals page but I don't count them as games.

In the PS+ discounts page, it shows two other bundles. One for Ghostbusters move + game, and another for Hot Shots Golf Out of Bounds that has been on sale for what seems like forever and has no end date. I wouldn't count either in the weekly sales.

So all in all there are 11 new games on sale this week, 7 of which have been on PS+ as free.

So easily one of the worst sale weeks ever.

I mean, there aren't even any typical barely advertised Atlus sales or random Sega games or anything. The point isn't a complaint that there aren't games on sale, but that this could be another sign that like last year on the 3rd Friday... this, being the 3rd Friday coming up, is more likely the Flash Sale. Granted not everyone keeps PS+, but still that's only 11 unique games in the new sale. Forget the 23 number as that's with all those cross-buy duplicates and a dlc. 11 unique games. 7 of the 11 have been PS+... so for anyone that maintains their PS+ account and gets the licenses every month for the past ~two years (like me)... there are only at most 4 games possible to purchase from this sale.

I see there are some other games on sale still like Gravity Badgers... but yet they don't show on the Sales pages and it appears it's for the entire month. So not really part of any weekly sales. So really there's even less that should be counted when discussing weekly sales and how this Week stands out as completely odd. So few games. An unprecidented percent of those games being former PS+ freebies and likely the rest having a very high percent chance of becoming PS+ freebies due to being tied to the same PLAY promotion at launch.

Precisely. I am sure a lot of people pay for Live/PS+ just for online MP and don't pay much attention to the monthly freebies.
