NMS refunds...  Yes, there were signs that it wasn't going to be what they told people it was going to be...  That it got hyped beyond belief and expectations BUT I'm going to be honest here.  I hope anyone who wanted a refund gets one/got one as I'm rather tired of Developers/Publishers promoting a hype and preorder culture and then not being held accountable when shit isn't there.  I just don't appreciate businesses lying to their customer.

I haven't really followed the controversy closely but I think this is a solid video showing that Hello Games/Sony crossed a number of lines with their promises and never went out of there way to recant them...  Till this day, truth be told.

You bought it because it was going to be free and now it is free...so now you have to request a refund for your game that you wanted to get for free?

:whistle2:k
It wasnt going to be free for all initially, it was going to be removed :D

buy the game, get the refund, keep the game

Now its staying on Steam and will be free.

How Did The Game Sell In The Early Days?

I'm just going to go on the Steam store data. There were also Humble Store sales, but they were less and you can get the idea from the Steam data alone. Easier for me to tabulate. ;)

Wed 8/24: 103 units

Thu 8/25: 56 units

Fri 8/26: 364 units (261 from China, hmm)

Sat 8/27: 762 units (323 from China)

Sun 8/28: 132 units
RIP Steam support. inb4 they get flooded with too many refund requests and the option to refund glitches out

Sweet... That Raptor game is free...

where the install button...

Oh, maybe I can do that via steamdb...

Oh...

Well... I didn't want it anyways!

Castle of Illusion is apparently being de-listed soon (Sep 2) and is on sale at a few different stores.

Gamesplanet is the cheapest, at £1.49.

Indiegala has it at $2.24 and comes with a free copy of Nail'd.

And finally GamesRepublic, where the discount is the same as indie gala, but you can get 10% off with code REGISTER-10-OFF making it $2.02 and apparently comes with a free Anomaly: Warzone Earth.

Edit: Indiegala is apparently giving glitched keys, I'd go with GamesRepublic if you want it. Gamesplanet is only a penny cheaper for me after currency conversion.

GO TO BED GRAMPS, YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND OUR GENERATION!

But really, the whole thing is beyond stupid and I didn't think NMS was that bad to refund.

Compared to the many other games that lied and people never attempted to refund.

I just don't see what is the point of them refunding people.  How is that smart from a business standpoint?  It's not like it's going to garner them any goodwill or sales in the future.  There's no point.

Are there any sites/forums/etc that guess/estimate/know what the next Humble Monthly games will be? I think I've built up the courage stupidity to subscribe, maybe, possibly, probably or not, I dunno.

Nah, nothing serious afaik. Theres a thread in the Steamgifts discussion forum where people guess/discuss/complain and that sort of thing, but there's rarely anything concrete to go on. Once in a while we'll get a hint from somewhere, but almost always the games are all a surprise beyond 1 or 2 titles at most that have leaked in some fashion.

I think its largely an easy decision to subscribe espc if you want the early unlock. There are always 4-6 titles as Steam keys, and its extremely easy to sell any title you don't want for around $2 per since they dont do repeats from other bundles. In cases where you don't want the early unlock, the sooner you pay for that month and get it, the sooner you'll be able to capitalize and get $4-6 for it. The monthly titles have always been relatively easy to sell/trade regardless if the game is perceived as shit or not.

Have you tried asking cleverbot?

http://www.cleverbot.com
User: Whats in the humble monthly for september.

Cleverbot: What is your name?

User: Dwayne.

Cleverbot: No your name is Hannah.

User: No fuck you.

Cleverbot: My name is Luciana.

User: I dont care answer my question.

Cleverbot: What was your question?

User: Whats in the humble monthly for september.

Cleverbot: Sorry, the gradnd design.

User: Wtf is that.

Cleverbot: Because you do not make any sense.

User: Look in the mirro.

Cleverbot: Okay, I looked in the mirror.

Yeah; they're both not really related, story-wise.

But, I doubt after I finish most game's SP campaign, I'll be looking to do any sort of MP for those. I'll be Doom'd out by then.

To make matters worse for you guys - I already played a good deal of Doom MP in the Alpha & Betas.
damn, this doesn't sound like a Toaster at all...how marvelous it was for him to outmaneuver the fox and co. and be diplomatic about it :whistle2:

lol...ignoring someone isn't outmaneuvering anyone.

I's not a huge deal at the end of the day, it would just be nice for him to show some courtesy towards other members of the community. We've even gone out of the way to offer to schedule stuff he might want to play and not be dicks about it, it just gets incredibly annoying when he just ignores it like we're somehow being out of line about it. We're not.

I think it's just disappointing because MysterD is usually civil and courteous to others even when they berate him for no reason so it's just sort of wack that when people just have a genuine question/gripe with something he did he takes this route.

I didn't hear that.

Also, how the fuck did I play that for 5 hours?

His triggers are going off and he's so totally confused on how to answer this he ignores it. It's common for people suffering from his affliction.

Can I get an assburger up in here?

Not that anyone owes me anything but, as a personal favor, if folks could drop the "assburgers" thing I'd appreciate it.  I have a son on the autism spectrum and while I'm hopeful for advances in education and social acceptance, I hear stuff like that passing as a joke and it makes me cringe.  Not to single out the above posts; I just decided now to say something.  Thanks in advance if people feel like doing me the favor; first and last time I'll mention it.

Back to refunds on free dinosaur games, Humble Bundle guesses and how NMS broke everyone's heart.

But we all have over 1000 Steam games that we're leasing and all we do is idle them for pennies and then bitch about sales and what shit game is getting removed or revoked by the dev to each other when we don't really care that much. I think we're all somewhere on the autism spectrum here.

I sincerely apologise and entirely blame Drabe. He's a bad influence.

I went to a local comic-con this past weekend, it was pretty fun.

I also can't seem to finish games anymore, The Witcher 3 broke me.
Man, tell me about it. It's hard to believe there was a time that I would finish over 90% of the games I played. Even if I didn't care for the game I would still see it through to the end, and I felt like a failure or some kind of asshole if I didn't finish it. It probably wasn't until I was about 24 years old that I finally started giving up on games I didn't like, and these days I only finish a few games per year. And most of those are games I've already played.

And now since I've been exposed to the depravity of this thread I don't even bother starting most games anymore. fuck you guys.
