MysterD should love consoles.  You get to collect archaic discs and boxes and old gen games are super duper cheap usually, but there's no point in arguing with a brick wall.

Yeah, I guess if you don't already have one you might as well spring for the Pro. Looking forward to Persona as well. The PS4 and Wii U are worth keeping for their exclusives. My Xbox One, on the other hand, is hardly ever used now thanks to Microsoft's "Play Anywhere" program.

Sorry in advance for turning this thread into console talk again.
Yeah; let's get back to Steam games, Origin games, and GOG Games. :)

Nope.

But I'm open to you buying me a console. :)
but would you want this?

Bingo.

But, sure - we can also add while we're at it games on Capsule & Beamdog; Humble games that are DRM-FREE; Retail boxed games; Rockstar Social Club games; W10 Store games; G4WL Games; Battle.Net; Epic Game Launcher games; and any other Windows PC games you can think of too.

EDIT:

I see you have Virginia wish listed as well. Fakey?
I pretty much WishList everything.

Have not fakey'ed this.

EDIT #2:

Or I could buy a graphics card, 1440p monitor, and/or a SSD.
That's not the point and you know that's not the point.

One, for the price of a USED PS4 you could not buy all of those things. Two, going off of the graphics cards you post about owning, you aren't on the cutting edge of PC technology and performance so why do you even care about a PC port if you are essentially running games at console levels.

Finally, no one is asking about you getting a console to push you to the other side. It's just odd considering how cheap it would be for you to be able to play stuff like Red Dead Redemption, Gears of War 1-3, etc. You tend to play AAA games and you tend to pay more than 75% off for them so PC games being cheaper isn't really a thing for you or a thing overall anymore considering how crappy the Steam sales.

It's just...odd. It seems you enjoy complaining about PC ports more than you would enjoy getting to experience some of the excellent console games that are never coming to PC legally. I mean, eventually you'll probably be able to emulate them in like 10-20 years. Will you play them then?

He said GOG.
fuck

edit: Just piggy backing off of fox's post...if you think a ps4 is too much you could buy a used ps3, gamestop has some refurbished models for 80 bucks...you could play all of the cross platform games you want like rdr and bayonetta in addition to playstation exclusives from last gen. some of the games are dirt cheap now if you buy them used...i think i got mgs4 for like 3 bucks last year...and it came with a box!

So, Doom 2016 runs at 60FPS at 1080p on ULTRA on current XB1 + PS4 consoles?

I'd highly doubt that.

Eurogamer mentions it's set to High on PS4:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-doom-face-off

Uncapped, I can go to 80-120FPS at 1080p with Ultra - but framerate's not solid + not stable anywhere, so that's not worth my time. So, 60FPS cap it is for me.

Why hold a game back and just have it just on these consoles with limited-power? Why not multi-platform it to both consoles + PC and try to get as many gamers as possible to purchase it? Why not also support the PC and let the sky be the limit, in terms of both power + the likely possibilities of (future) modding?

Again, that's not the point, you seem to refuse to answer any direct question asked of you, even when it's just asking something as simple as why you refuse to buy a console. For the record though, both the Scorpio and the PS Pro are promising 4K so yeah, you're behind the curve when it comes to consoles.

Having played it on both PS4 and PC, 60 FPS @ High seems correct.

I was right about Virginia fitting into my list: Virginia, Mafia III, Shadow Warrior 2, Owlboy, and Dishonored 2. Perfect! Thanks, BF1 beta, for opening up a spot.

Digital Foundry already analyzed PS4 Pro.

It's not rendering in native 4K.

it's actually upscaled from a lower-res:

We'll have to see what the XB1 Scorpio does + costs, to see if it'll truly be native 4K.

His dad bought him a pc when he was in size 3 skates. His affliction makes him only want a pc, no matter what. He can't help it. Just accept he's mentally ill and either he a high school bully like me and poke fun at him or stop goading him

In other horrible games on steam which will get bundled anyways news, if you were the sort of person who picked up Squirbs for 9 cents, you can now go and buy Flight of the Paladin for 6 cents.

But hey, +1 and cards, right?

But it's still better than the specs you're currently running on your rig. From the very article you posted:

But the key takeaway is this - while the PlayStation 4 Pro GPU lacks the horsepower to render out challenging content at native 4K, the presentation we've seen on a number of titles clearly shows a worthwhile, highly desirable increase in fidelity over 1080p - one that does put a 4K screen to good use. Switching between full HD and checkerboard 4K, the increase in detail is simply stunning.

I was wondering why everyone was buying that schmidt. I didn't buy Squirbs or Airscape, so it's 49c for me.

(as an example from any complete-your-collection bundle where you own some but not all games)

In bro news, we played The Crew last night which I had fun with.  We couldn't quite figure out how to do competitive events against each other, but co-oping the missions with your crew was essentially doing competitive events with the added advantage that a win by anyone on the crew counted as a win for you in the story.  Will have to read up on how to do events with your crew.  Not sure if we have to advance the story more or we just didn't know what we were doing.

The game is pretty obtuse at times. I'm getting Horizon 3 so The Crew isn't gonna get much play time but what is your guy's crew called? I'll join and try to figure it out when I get a chance.

Hey nerds, any better deals on Arkham Knight Premium than BS (other than the one on Steam about a week ago that I missed)?

My tragically brief foray into the world of rock ended sadly today when my plane crashed in Texas and I was killed. Well, not quite, but I did manage to break a guitar string while tuning my guitar in Rocksmith, which is more farce than tragedy, in retrospect.

GMG isn't letting me get a 10-pack since they only allow one per account. Is there a timer on that or something? I know I've bought several 10-packs from them but I'm not sure how much time has to pass before you're allowed to waste your money again.

*Protip* Buy a pack of high-e strings, you will bust them like crazy at first.

Thats the best price I see besides the shady key sites like g2a.

I think its one per promotion. I wasn't allowed to buy a 10 pack either, so I guess I will be able to after these mystery packs stop being offered for a while before showing up again I guess?

It's usually one per promotion and the promotion flips usually once a month. You'll know when they start announcing stuff like "new games added."

I got mostly bundle trash I didn't have except Action Alien which I guess hasn't been bundled yet? It surely will soon if it hasn't.

I grabbed this one, thanks.

Thank you GMG for protecting me from myself.
They do this so people don't start doing chargebacks when they get 5 copies of Time Gentlemen Please!

Has anyone actually ever played Time Gentlemen, Please! or Ben There, Dan That?

I couldn't even tell you what genre of game they are.  They just accumulate like dust.

If television has taught me anything (and that's debatable), it's that a cat's whisker can substitute for a guitar string in a pinch, although the cat will be naturally loathe to part with it.

Froggy went a-courtin', he did ride... Crambone!

So is that why Ted Nugent has cat scratch fever?
