It's not my fault my character had the highest metabolism ever known to man and needed to eat every three minutes or die.
Its always your fault, Reds.

Not even for free?

The only problem I've have with the window store's game apps is keeping the Xbox App open.

You have to keep the xbox live app while having the game open.

Which is awful if you have only one screen, honestly this makes GFWL look tons better.
As far as I can tell, this isn't true. I've logged several hours of the Windows 10 version of Killer Instinct and haven't had the Xbox app open, let alone on the screen, during any of those play sessions. At any rate, wouldn't the app be running in the background, rather than on top of everything else, once you started the game?

Like you I've never had to do that either... (I should download Killer Instinct also. I never remember to do so.)

Gears of War 4; Well, no revoke here so far... Hopefully, my seller is a system builder and not one of those jackasses robbing Amazon/NVidia/Microsoft. (And I guess I'll be buying the Season Pass now also.) Lots, and lots of all positive feedback here on the forum... So, yeah.

Its way early to expect a revoke. Its Sunday after a Saturday glitch. If we still have the game by release, we're in the clear. I would expect revocations within the next 2 weeks if they happen.

If your seller was selling a bunch of codes, dont expect him to be a system builder. The promo was just announced this past Tuesday. The chance of one of them getting in a bunch of stock under this promo so quickly is very slim. The builders/mom and pop shops take time to get this stuff. Historically these GPU offers take time to build competition b/c of stock reasons, you'll see people with single copies quickly, but those with stock take a while to get in on it (then prices drop). They have to move out the old and get in the new. The coincidences are too great to think that anyone other than those selling singular copies have a chance of being legit.

Also, you should ask your seller for proof. The good ones will have it and be able to prove it if it matters to you. I've never had an issue asking someone for it when buying these things. Just ask for a screenshot of a shipping notification of the GPU.

I expect Amazon to take the hit and wash their hands of it. NVidia locked out the redemption and are forcing proof to claim now. That may be enough. I'd bet those of us who redeemed end up fine, just remains to be seen.

At this point I'm shocked that AMD and NVidia can find people to team up with... It seems everyone of these ends up going sideways at some point. Also, like you I suspect will be fine... But mostly because I think Microsoft will be happy to see people pushed to both Windows 10 and the Windows Store. (And revoking keys, while I don't think it would deter me, would certainly upset a great number of people who likely wouldn't find the Windows Store ever again.)

Forza Horizon, I planned on playing about 30 minutes this morning but nearly two hours later I'm off of it. I did have performance hits today, noticeable ones at that but not overly often and I had to tab out and in a number of times this morning... So there's work to be done but they seem to be keen on doing it. Its very fun and very playable.

Who can they team up with though? Each and every time these things end up having an issue are largely because of retailers. If its not Amazon, its Newegg. If anything these are the places that need to examine their own systems because at the end of the day they're the ones who take the hit unless they're selling them on consignment and thats highly unlikely for these retailers who almost certainly buy GPUs wholesale.

Revocation wouldn't deter me from using anything. If a game I want to play bad enough is only available at X, thats what makes the determination. If I know I got the game by less than legitimate means, then I'm prepared for the risk of revocation. I can understand "boycotting" if someone has paid "market value" for a GPU pack in code (I'd say market value is $30-$40 as thats typically what these things start at) are revoked and then are angry about it, but thats more on that person for not doing enough due diligence or asking the right questions before giving money up IMO. It was plainly obvious by the sheer amount of codes that were being sold that something was going on.

I do agree that MS will not want to push people away from their new venture by mass revocation. I could even see Nvidia taking the same stance, since people need GPUs and are potentially more likely to consider AMD in a situation like that. We may have already seen the extent of the blowback. Another thing to consider is the losses are potentially not even that great. This happened large scale on a Saturday morning and the ability to obtain the keys and redeem them was quelched after hours. It may not be a large enough loss to try to recoup, but on that same note if the #s are low thats less they're pissing off by revoking. Can only wait and see.

That's the only way I know how to invite people to Halo 5 Forge mode.

I keep needing to reopen the app just to add people to my friendlist and invite them.

Unless I missed some kind of add friend system within the game.

It's fraud if you enter a fake credit card which is something that some "smart" people did ....
Those smart people are dumb then, they will get my money sometime next month when I get a broken curved gtx 1070 in the mail with mailing be dumb.

Some people might say fraud, some might say technicality regarding Gears of War.  Several posted how people were doing this.  Some even posted that they did it and how they did it.

The promotion was to give people that bought (and kept) a 1070 or 1080 a key for Gears of War, not just for placing an order.

I did not participate, but I really do not care either.  I do think  that acting like you did not pull a stunt in doing this is laughable though.  Again, I do not care if people got in on this or not, but let us be honest that it was by taking advantage of a least one company.

I've not downloaded that either... It could very well be that way as I know matchmaking/browser is coming in the future.

Solid point and not really how I was looking at it... My way is they, by this point in time, have both had retailers "screw" them over a number of times (and there are more retailers than just Amazon and newegg you can get these codes from... Its nearly any place.) that why don't they have their process more locked down... Till an issue happens they don't even as for serial numbers off of the GPU.

And next time around... They revert back and its open season again. (And NVidia has even stream lined the approach to make it even easier.)

I'm pretty sure we're headed towards a system where you'll need hardware detection software to detect your gpu and the serial number to claim your free game just not sure when.

You should download it, Halo 5 forge was a lot better then expected.
I recommend joining the Reddit Halo's discord to find matches till the sever browser comes.

I've haven't played forge mode yet with custom games being fun.

I honestly don't understand why the serial key isn't just included in the box.

Is it really that hard to spend few cents on paper?

Yep. Though it does take a special type of cognitive dissonance to think that all of your actions are "above board" the second you generate a false credit card number.

For those who have interest in Alienware Steam Machines, on a budget, and not looking to spend tons of $....

Fry's has one for $250 (i.e. half-price).

In store only and you'd need the promo code in your e-mail:

http://www.frys.com/product/8613900

It has inside for guts:

i7 4785T (low wattage i7 - 4 cores; 8 threads);

8 GB DDR3L;

1 TB HDD 7200rpm;

2GB VRAM of NVidia 860M GPU;

Steam OS.

I just saw a furry walking out of Michael's. She was wearing bright green fox ears and a matching tail. I can try to get the digits for Foxhack if I see her again.

Uh. Didn't a recent promo do this already? I think it was HP that ran this, people were getting copies of Lego Batman 3 for owning a specific CPU or GPU.

Now for dumb people like me that don't know jack about mobile gpu, will that run Street Fighter V at max settings?

If so I might grab one so I have something for Skullgirls and SFV & USFIV at my local fighting game community.

Edit: I don't have one in my area.

I mean, seriously? Bright green? Yuck.
Aren't you a furry? You guys like bright neon green colors

Whoops my power level is showing.

It's more ecological this way.

I wonder why they don't do like in Asian countries where you register your GPU serial to get the code.
That would work better.

With The Division and Gears of War this year being screw by both Amazon and Newegg they really need to change how they handle free games.

Unrelated, can anyone recommend this? I'm already using a 7ms monitor

AOC G2260VWQ6 Black 21.5" 1ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen Gaming Monitor, AMD FreeSync

I know AMD did something like that.

I seem to recall Badjoki was being Badjoki and hinted at ways around it without ever saying anything.

I never found ways around it. I just asked if someone had system eligible for it and wanted to record what data it sends, but no one did. (It's still on going, too)

Lego Batman 3 is one is worse choices actually as it includes games like

The Banner Saga 2

Wining Putt

Doom

Total Warhammer

Ashes of the Singularity

Dirt Rally

It makes you download a verification program that runs and checks ya components. I had a cheap AMD processor so Lego Batman 3 was the only one on the list that I didn't already own, wish Banner Saga 2 or Doom was eligible for me.

Not recognizing my 480. Submitted a support ticket.

EDIT: Nevermind, has to be pre-built. I thought it was either/or.

Yeah, something like that. Seems like a cross b/t a console and a PC.

Sounds like one probably could load Windows onto it, if you really want to - can't speak from experience, since I don't own one & (obviously) never tried it.

Of course, with a 2GB 860M - well, I wouldn't expect every game to be at dazzling settings. Still - for $250 and especially if one is on a budget, seems like a 2GB 860M + low-wattage i7 w/ 8 GB RAM could do some gaming b/t 720p, 900p, and 1080p gaming at some decent settings. [shrug]

For that cheap - I'd bet people who never thought of jumping onto PC gaming might not even hesitate, if they got a Fry's nearby.

Info on 2GB GTX 860m:

GPUBoss - http://gpuboss.com/graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-860M

Benchmarks on games - http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-860M.107794.0.html

Looks like it's very capable at 720p period for most games; and it'll depends on the game if it's decent for 900p or 1080p. Newer games - eh, not so much on 900p or 1080p so it seems; probably 720p or 1366x768.

You can use Youtube to look up how SF5 runs on Alienware Alphas.

Seems even with i3's, it runs decent - i.e. Medium at 60FPS at 720p.

Seems i5 Alphas at 1080p do fine with it at 50-60FPS:

Castle of Illusion was removed from the Steam store.

Activision added a bunch of Sierra games to Steam and ran a Humble bundle for them the following day.

Ubisoft gave away free copies of The Crew on uPlay.

Developers of ARK released a paid DLC even though the game is still in Early Access.

Olive Garden sold never-ending pasta passes for $100 to 21,000 people.

A bunch of people looted Gears of War 4 codes from Amazon and nVidia today.

Oh,  almost forgot the one thing I like to do during BOGO or 50% off weeks at Dominos.

Its the best time (outside of the MLB promo) to get pan pizzas.

I guess I should clarify that I meant that would be the way we'd get any of the promos, not just that AMD one.

People would then probably buy the graphic card, redeem the code, then return it claiming "it doesn't work". So then the company would be out a code and a graphics card which is now opened and has to be discounted.
Some people might. Most people wouldn't. I personally wouldn't dick around with tying up a couple hundred bucks and taking a trip to the UPS counter to send back a card just to get a game.

The people collecting a bunch of codes to resell would have an even harder time if they had to tie up $300+ for each card and then convince Amazon or NewEgg that they need to return ten opened GPUs because they don't work.

Doesn't matter... BRIGHT GREEN EARS!?!

Well, I feel like that may be a difficult question to answer. Was she cute as a non-furry? Meh, but you know I feel like within the furry community the standards of cuteness have to be lower considering you don't have much to choose from. Plus, like I don't know what cute to furry is. Do they value human cute? Or how much someone looks like the animal they are emulating? And apparently they are racist too as fur color matters.

Does it really matter? Furries literally can win tournaments that bring in the money.

I would date a furry for that sponsorship and tournament money.

With that price, you can get a PS4 or X1 for a bona fide experience and exclusives rather a crappy PC experience with that 2GB 860M

I don't suppose there's any Gamersgate discount codes active right now? The Arkham Knight Season Pass is 6.80, and I want to make sure that's the cheapest I can get it for right now.

Speaking of GamersGate, can anybody else confirm this? I tried again today but the result is the same.

Bad news, guys. I think Russian airspace is now a no-fly zone.

I'm trying to book tickets for my flight but it seems you can only get Putin-priced tickets from within Putinland. Using the US store doesn't carry over the itinerary I selected from the Putin store. This is before logging in.

Something that might be related - GG asked me to verify my account with a phone number before it let me use Blue Coins on checkout. I've had an account for the past six years and it never asked me for this before.
