This, I have it on Blu Ray which by the way is a very good transfer, br.com backs that up. Anyways the movie is so fucking awesome. One of those movies I can watch multiple times and never get tired of it. So I too definitely recommend it.

The Arkham remaster is not worth it. The framerate is ABYSMAL. This is a last gen game and the shit dips to 20fps quite frequently. Inexcusable. I'm glad I rented it. I'll finish it because OCD but I highly doubt I'll start up Arkham City if that's just as bad. I hope they plan on patching this thing.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that most people who claim to suffer from OCD on the internet are just being figurative and do not actually have a diagnosis.

Asylum was the better game IMO anyway. Not sure I would replay City either way. Sounds like I will wait for this to be dirt cheap before picking it up.

 
Tried to play some co-op Gears with my friend.  We started earlier this week and got up to chapter 4 of Act 1.  Couldn't get the game started.  Kept dropping as I was loading the map.

Ended up playing Horde.  Got up to level 19 and got disconnected.  Reconnected and my friend was able to invite me.  By the time I got back in it was level 20.  We got up to round 31.  One guy stopped playing and my friend was too tired to play anymore.

This was the first time I saw people join Horde in progress as well.

I had a friend turn on a free month of XBL yesterday from the console. He even downloaded a GWG, but today it's telling him he needs to purchase Gold. Is XBL broken?

 
Just saw a FB post/ad from Sony that they're helping work on Red Dead 2. I have no excitement for the game, but am still sad to see that.

Yeah, give or take. I have it on XB1 and actually enjoy it, but I love the Batman games (even really liked Origins), so I'm not the most objective source. The frame rate isn't horrible, it just isn't any better that the old one. The graphics are better (particularly the rain in Asylum), but some of the changes won't hit everyone right. They are brighter and details are easier to make out, but some like their games dark and grainy. I've been going through Asylum and have been enjoying it - the only problem is that game is much more limited in how you can deal with bad guys, and fights tend to be easier because of it.

It is a fairly lazy remaster (I can only imagine how bad it was back in June to delay it), but the game is still fun, particularly if you like the old games. It looks better but doesn't really run better. And knowing WB, there probably won't be a patch.

I don't think so. I just used a one month code after my 12 month membership expired and got the same message. They probably just want him to buy a year's worth of Gold.

Lol - wat? I started it last night and have not run into any "ABYSMAL" framerates. What part in particular got bad?

I think that the port is fine. If you love the Arkham games, you will love these. Case closed.

 
Think I might finally pull the trigger on getting an external 2TB drive to share between my XB1s. Is there a clear cut winner between the WD "My Passport" series and the Seagate "Backup Plus" series?

Didn't this game have like a 7GB day one patch?

I bought the physical copy of the Dead Rising 2 remaster and ran into similar problems. Despite forcing me to download a patch during installation, you can only play the game for about 2 hours before the framerate becomes an unplayable, stuttering mess. At that point I have to reset my entire console to play it normally again,

I had the same problem for the past few weeks until I redeemed a 12 month Gold code. It was weird because I would be playing something like Overwatch online but it would tell me I needed Gold to join a party.

 
Decided to switch my Skyrim preorder from disc to digital. I know I'm going to be playing it a ton. Starting to get really excited even though I already 100%'ed it on 360 and I'm not even the world's biggest Elder Scrolls guy in the first place.

Dude, it's pretty noticeable. When Bats is walking around, you can tell the fr is dipping. When he's fighting, you can tell it's dipping. This has been proven by multiple sources so it's not like I'm crazy. It's not as smooth as the 360 version. It does LOOK better, but it doesn't run better.

Only have experience with the My Passport and it works great. Mine is a 2TB as well. I was thinking about adding another 3TB at some point because it's filling up fast.

 
Just played that magnificent CoD beta.

Never again will I play a beta for a game I've already digitally pre-ordered. I'm depressed.

P.S. I'm never pre-ordering a CoD game again.

P.S.S. I probably shouldn't be pre-ordering ANY games ever again. My Gears of War 4 $100 pre-order was fun for about a week before I went back to Rock Band and forgot it existed.

Must be something on your end only. Dead Rising 2 runs better on Xbox One than PS4. Digital Foundry did a technical analysis on it and it rarely dips in framerate: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-dead-rising-remastered-face-off

Just played that magnificent CoD beta.

Never again will I play a beta for a game I've already digitally pre-ordered. I'm depressed.

P.S. I'm never pre-ordering a CoD game again.

P.S.S. I probably shouldn't be pre-ordering ANY games ever again. My Gears of War 4 $100 pre-order was fun for about a week before I went back to Rock Band and forgot it existed.

I have heard similar stories about Call of Duty. Pre-orders lost their appeal when game prices started to drop almost a day after release. Also, I am not trying to be a dick but I think you meant to type P.P.S. Just trying to educate the masses.

Same, Ryu. Same. No other game last gen did I put as much time into than Skyrim. After seeing the footage and proper trailer yesterday, I can say I am very excited to get lost in that world again. For a game like this, (one that you will play 'forever') digital is the way to go.

Will spend all week thinking about which race to start as. (Was a badass Redguard last gen.)

Seagate's reputation got ruined about 10 years back because of a bad firmware, and they've never really recovered. WD generally beats them on price as well.

The Passport drives are usb powered and the MyBook series has external power. Most people are fine with usb power, but I'm still paranoid about overheating my xbone so I bought a 3tb MyBook.

It's getting too close to BF/xmas sales to recommend anything now, you might as well wait unless a really great deal drops.


I've been set on BF1 since it was announced, but I'm finding that I don't have as much fun playing it as I do playing Overwatch. It doesn't help that I accidentily scrapped the first gun I got from a battlepack, that or it was just a skin. Meanwhile, I just unlocked the Frankenstein's monster skin for Roadhog...

Got to wave 40 last night with 2 randoms after 2 randoms dropped out in the mid 30s. Couldn't finish it though, but still optimistic.

I have a 2TB WD on my 360 and a 4TB WD on my Xbox one and I love it! I have the little portable ones.

My Xbox one has been going very slow lately but I turned off Cortana and now it's nice and speedy again.

Yeah, I made two attempts this morning with randoms - by Wave 15, both times - despite no deaths/failures - everyone had quit/left. It's pretty discouraging.

*edit* Is there a LFG for Gears (like Destiny and - I think - Overwatch)? Maybe that's the way to go.

Scary thing is its probably not outlandish to worry about. I've got two emergency prep bags for me and the family with all the necessary survival stuff and plenty of canned food. Even if the US somehow wasn't involved, a nuclear war between India and Pakistan (I use this example because they are both currently threatening each other) would result in food shortages worldwide and kill billions.
 
I know I'm late to the party, but not allowing Microsoft Cash balance to buy Xbox 360 games on Xbox One is fucking asinine.

All these complaints of people quitting Horde in Gears so often makes me believe Bungie is justified in not adding matchmaking to Raids. Can you imagine getting like halfway through a Flawless Raider run and some randoms just say #fuckityoloLOL and dip out? I'd be furious.
 
I played a Horde round in Hardcore the other night. We had a guy drop out right off, but the other 4 of us stayed in and went to round 16. Was trying to get to 20 for the Horde card to get 10,000 XP, but everyone quit when our turret was destroyed in 16...
