CDKeys has a 2 year XBL code for 60 bucks, essentially 30 bucks a year which isn't bad. Does Xbox still allow more than a year of Live entered? I wonder if these would even work.

Would this count if using the EA Access trial? I still have over 8 hours on my trial. Assuming two things that is: 1) That the trials don't expire and 2) Battlefront isn't already in the Vault. I remember hearing something about that.
 
I haven't been following Dead Rising 4 very closely, was just excited by the basic premise along with the Christmas backdrop, I was really hoping they learned from DR3 and would be taking another look at how the whole game was structured. It's a pretty strong case of DROPPED for me now. Just about everything these new project leads mention is a turn off for me as a big fan of the first 2 games.

In reference to the Black Friday sale:

I'm sure some things will be cheaper for Disc but I usually buy 2 or 3 digital games in past years.

There will be some prices to complain about and some to get excited about, seems like that's how it was in past years at least.

It's more or less an extension of the things I disliked in 3. Time is no longer a factor, which was a core element of gameplay in 1 and 2 (and OTR), causing the need to learn what to focus on, along with restarting with your higher level. I get that some people only ever wanted to go crazy with killing zombies, but I don't think they needed to kill the more difficult features to make those players happy. Off the Record pretty much perfected that mode, both allowing you to screw around and giving new challenges if you wanted them, but then they dropped the idea entirely in 3. A bunch of other smaller things that they said lost me too. A more "mature" Frank sounds just like listening to focus group nonsense, dropping the voice actor, no more unique Psychopaths instead with more generic maniacs.

I played a TON of the older Dead Risings, mostly 2, and these changes have made me not want to buy it. Plus, that video is mostly likes over dislikes, so I don't think I'm alone.

They got rid of the timer in 4? I might actually play 4. Timers are stressful to me, it's the reason I loved Ocarina of Time but didn't play Majoras Mask.

Yeah, it's practically not there in 3 either. I did 100% of the side stuff and ended with like 5 days left, compared to the older games where you would have a few hours left at best. Off the Record also has a mode with no clock, but it's not for the main story.

Maybe the changes will pay off if more people feel like you do than those of us turned away by the changes. I kind of expect the game to get buried either way though, so many games just came out and are still coming out.

And you should give Majora's Mask a shot, the timer isn't too bad, you usually have to keep changing what day it is with the ocarina to do quests and puzzles anyways. You rarely have to string together many events in one straight run. The timer is pretty close a lot of the time in the old Dead Risings, but not really nail-bitingly close unless you're doing the Save 50 Survivors achievement or are doing the S rank ending while being pretty low leveled.

 
Soooo, people complaining about DR3 being too "serious" and "grim" are now complaining that DR4 is "over the top"? Hmmmmm, I'm pretty sure DR1, DR2 and OTR were also over-the-top and campy. It's Dead Rising, not Mass Effect.

And now that they get rid of the timer in DR4, suddenly everybody wants it back? The timer was one of the most recurring, if not the most recurring, complaint about the sequels. I guess you can't please everyone all the time.

I for one I'm glad the timer's gone. Won't miss it one bit. Had tons of fun with DR3 (I even went back to it in order to get a few achievements I missed between 2013 and 2014) and I expect no less from DR4.

Just to clarify, these items are from Xbox Live Store and items on MicrosoftStore.com right? For example, on Nov. 18 I could get that controller for $40 and also on the Nov. 18 I could get a digital game off the Xbox Live Store. When they merged the two, it kinda messed me up.

Same. I didn't feel like I could stop playing Majora, I stayed up way too late because of the sense of urgency, ironically lost track of time, overslept, and was late for work the next day. Haven't played it since. Dead Rising is a little more forgiving but same concept.

Do me a favor, Microsoft, and announce some great Backward Compatibility titles Thursday, then put them on early gold member sale as part of 'Black Friday' a day later.

Looking for sales on smaller titles mostly. Inside, Marvel Puzzle Quest, Livelock, etc. I'd really like a decent deal on Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate and Recore too.

Thanks got it. I shouldn't have said controllers, I meant disc games. I guess games like Gears 4 and ReCore will be discounted digitally 11/18 and then 11/24 the disc versions will have their own discounts.

 
So with the BF sale coming later this week (for Gold), it's probably safe to say that Date Night will be worse than usual -- having a low bar already.
 
Up to 50% off doesn't sound that good. Some of the better sales are more than for Date Night. I guess we'll see. Maybe Date Night will be better.
