The best penny game I have ever spent was Age of Empires III Complete on GFWL platform

RIP Ensemble

I managed to get the game, finally.

But of course the damn client won't let me log in. :|

Edit: Okay it logged in but it won't let me see what DLC this actually has. I guess Madjoki got lucky?
Usually, it tells you DLC Owned in the Overview on Uplay.

I already owned AC3 on UPlay; decided to try to add AC3 on Uplay via Ubi30 b/c of Madjoki's comment about it giving the DLC's (which it did allow me to add AC3 Uplay from this Ubi30 Giveaway); and it did NOT give me any of the DLC's.

Madjoki owns AC3 + DLC on steam, the season pass key on steam probably unlocks the DLC for the 100% Uplay version too, Doubt he got lucky or anything, it just shares the dlc key from the steam version.

EDIT: I can confirm this is the case. I own the game + all DLC on steam and it shares the DLC from the key I got from steam with the free Uplay version.

Oh, that makes sense! That's pretty cool if you own everything on Steam and it just carries all of that content over also to the Free UPlay version! :)

EDIT:

So, for those who've played the AC3 Season Pass content....how are the DLC's?

That's odd. afaik none of other games do so.

Uh... Uplay version? I thought buying the game on Steam also added the game to Uplay. I have Far Cry Blood Dragon on there already, I didn't claim the game during the free month.

The difference is that when trying to launch a game you own on Steam through Uplay it still runs Steam in order to do so.

If you close Steam while the game is running on Uplay Steam will close the game.

If owned as a Uplay version it can be run with Uplay as the only launcher.

A Uplay only version only requires Uplay running.

Yea depending on the uplay game you can go to the cdkey in steam and copy pasta them all into uplay and activate them there as well.  This usually only works for new-ish titles though, like older splinter cell games dont work but alot of the AC and FC games will let you redeem the various keys

Hey guys I've been looking into getting Watch Dogs 2. What's a good price I should pay for it?

Thanks!
Yea to follow up on the last guy, you can get the uPlay version from one of the many promotions going on right now at pretty decent prices. I would say no more than $30. The Steam version is only available to buy from Steam so you wont find that for anything better than $50 from a gift seller.

If you're cool with the uPlay only version (Steam version also requires using uPlay so theres no escaping it), check out Ebay or peer to peer places like the Steam centric trading thread here in Master Lists or Steamtrades. Its being offered in both Samsung SSD promos and Nvidia promos. I imagine a month from now it will be easily attainable for $15-$20 b/c of how many are proliferating. People will get GPUs and SSDs for Xmas and there will be more available regularly. Right now $25-$30 is a guarantee. I got mine from the SSD promotion for equivalent of $25 and that was pre-release.

In honor of tonight's Bro event, I'll note that the R6 Siege Season 2 Pass is a whip-whoppin' $5.40 off at Gamersgate ($24.59 vs $30) (as noted below, it's $24 on GMG)

Hmmm, that's tempting.

SP Year 1 holders also get 600 R6 credits which are worth $5 so there's that to take into account to.  Now to figure out whether I want it on GMG or Gamersgate where I get back 5% in funny blue money.

The 5% you'd get back is about equal to the GMG savings and you wouldn't get it in cyber rubles if you just buy direct from GMG.

Unless you have BC already, go with the Green Man

For anyone who only got the Shadow of Mordor base game from Ubisoft the first time around (which I think was pretty much everyone), check your e-mail again. They just sent me another key, supposedly for the GOTY version this time.

EDIT: It indeed activated as the GOTY version.

Oblivion too... Hell, I remember juggling the carrying capacity in Oblivion more than I do the main quest.
I really hate limited inventory space so the first thing I usually do is mod the weight limit way up in RPGs. The only downside is the load times opening your inventory when you are carrying thousands of items!

I have basically zero playtime in the game so far, do I need to get to any particular point to be able to play tonight?

No, we typically play Terrorist Hunt (co-op vs AI) and most of us have barely any time in PVP whatsoever, but theres no pre-requisite for anything.
I will say though that it wouldn't hurt if you had an hour or so to put into doing the Situations, which is like an extended tutorial. You'd get enough renown to unlock an operator or two. Otherwise you'll be playing with the generic trainee operators, which is fine, but you'll probably have more fun with the unlocked ones. Unless you have the SP, then you'll have some to choose from without having to play before.

Yea thats a fair point, the Situations are worth a go before any multi.

Yeah, Situations to get you some early unlock points and just to get a little familiar with the game.  Not all of them, but you'll want to do at least some so you can unlock an attacker and defender depending on what mission we get.

I plan on coming by tonight but I'll be late.  Thursdays in general aren't great for me but whenever I finally make it home I'll see if stuff's still happening.

So curious, those that got the Shadow of Mordor base game followed by the GOTY, do you now have two copies? Or was it just a key for the extra content? If the former, I'd possibly buy the base key from someone as I couldn't check out during the glitch.

Mine was the base game and I never got a GOTY key or extra content key

Don't completely ignore spending some points on weapon attachments as well. It helped me go from atrocious to just sucky in multiplayer.

I'll just have to go with whatever I have currently and maybe work on it for the next time. I think I did a little bit of tutorial or whatever it was the time I did play, but I won't have extra time to play before 9 (if I even make it).

Well don't worry, I forgot to add that as you complete levels with us you'll be earning renowned as well, so you probably won't have to play the whole night with the trainees, you'll likely get enough to unlock 1 or 2 operators just with playing with us.
