This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

Incidentally, you know you're getting old when you log into CAG and you start seeing targeted ads for face wrinkle cream. Seriously, there's enough going on in the world as it is. The last thing I need right now is a cream facial.

I think it was the lowest price ever on the ultimate or massive edition or whatever it was of the secret world
It was the Complete edition. I think the Ultimate edition that was on Steam was more content per dollar but the Bundlestar deal was still a good one.

We're playing Secret World tonight. It's a huge download, then you need to make an account, set up a character and run through the prologue stuff. Then we'll play for half an hour and get bored and Weiler will probably hassle us to play BF1. You won't want to miss it.

There actually is a smaller install option that says it has the first five hours of content (and then I guess downloads the rest as you come across the regions) so that might make more sense than downloading 25gb in one sitting. I did the 25gb because I'm not very smart.

Definitely the penis pump... though $20 won't get you a quality model.

Gleam really killed off the free game keys phase. So many terrible, terrible games that were just there for +1s and cards. If I see another EA shooter that uses stock Unity assets i'm going to say eh why even bother and it somehow goes through greenlight.

Still locked out of viewing Steam Market pages. Would'a thought that I'd get access to it by now, but I guess 20 hours isn't long enough. Hopefully it doesn't take any longer than 24 hours. As it is, it's gonna take days for me to list my remaining cards.

le sigh

I've had it happen just going through my listings in the browser when using Enhanced Steam. I took a few days off before trying again.

+1 to the "getting out of the +1 game"

I guess everyone stops for their own reasons. Groupees constant shit-shoveling sent me packing. I realized that I was buying stuff that I'd never buy if I saw it on a store shelf.

I still buy the odd Gala if it features games in a genre I like, or if it (rarely) has a game on my wishlist. BundleStars is kinda off my radar too as they seem to have taken to doing crappy publisher bundles, or bundles of games in a series.

Yeah, sometimes there just an oddball one that actually has something interesting.
I don't think I'd ever go on steam and actually pay $7 for "Button Tales", but it is one of the more recent things that fell out of an Indie Gala bundle that I didn't regret buying.

I'm out as well. Having 5k games on Steam, at least 4k of which I'd never even consider playing, and it's started to seem pretty pointless. If I had a dollar for every crappy bundle I've bought, I'd have a lot of dollars. I blame you jerks.

RE: Shadow Warrior.

Does anyone know what comes with the "Special Edition" and the "Special Edition Upgrade"? Both are an additional $1/piece with no description.

I think you get the following in the special edition:

. Shadow Warrior: Serious Sam 3 Sledgehammer DLC + Shadow Warrior: Hotline Miami Katana DLC + Shadow Warrior Soundtrack + Shadow Warrior Digital Artbook

Not saying that I'm going to fakey Sniper Elite 4 but there's a very real chance that I'm going to fakey Sniper Elite 4.  Gamersgate has 40% off the Deluxe Ed if you use that goofy Razer zGold stuff.

I liked 2 and played a lot of 3 -- seems like a safe bet

Yeah, I'm tempted as well. I really liked Sniper Elite 3 more than I thought I would. Looks like the same discount also applies to the regular edition with Razer zGold. Ends up being $38.24 AND getting back a bonus of +2,162 blue coins! BLUE COINS! :whee:

I actually can't remember the last time I bought something from Gamersgate.

I miss the days of those Radeon Gold Reward deals.

Calling it. Eidos Montreal will be dead within a year. They're the new United Front Games.
Ugh, I hope not. Bleh.

Both Eidos Montreal (Deus Ex HR + MD) and UFG (Sleeping Dogs) put out some really good stuff.

BTW, I did like Thief 4 - but it ain't on the level of the games I just listed, especially in terms of story + character development.

EDIT:

Shadow Warrior 2 is already $3.99?
Crap. I missed that, being not home and all. Meh.

FYI, it looks like the Nvidia GPU pack in deal to get games cheap may be coming to an end in some respects.

They launched a new promotion today for 1070/1080 where you can get Ghost Recon Wildlands or For Honor, but the redemption is done entirely through GeForce Experience and it does a CPU check and you must have a 1070 or 1080 to redeem.

Earlier there was a dude in the cesspool who bought a WatchDogs 2 Nvidia code that had this restriction and we were all wondering what was up with it, but it seems like this may be the new devilry to prevent reselling. Unknown how it will work if you already have the GPU required.

http://www.geforce.com/redeem-faq

Q: Are there additional requirements for me to redeem my coupon?

  • Graphics Card Requirements- Some coupons can only be redeemed on selected graphics card. These coupons are typically tied to a graphics card purchase or promotional giveaway. Please make sure your graphics card is installed before redemption.
Q: Why is GeForce Experience required to redeem a coupon code received along with a GPU purchase?
Game coupon codes offered as part of a qualifying GPU or PC purchase are intended for use by the purchaser. As part of the coupon redemption process, NVIDIA uses GeForce Experience to perform a hardware verification step to ensure the coupon code is redeemed on the system with the qualifying GPU.

In light of these new heinous, Trump-like restrictions on pack-in game codes for over-priced GPUs (I'm not worried as I have a 1080) the first regular caggle who quotes this will be gifted my inventory copy of Payday 2.

Just don't expect it within the next 30 minutes as I have a sizable loaf that's ready to come out of the oven.

The loaf will cook on it's own. You don't have to watch it... unless you are talking about something else, and it takes you 30 minutes... wtf?

so does that mean these codes will go even cheaper now that only us 1%'ers can redeem them?

Im sure some codes will trickle down though, thats how that works right?

As Im reading this article on the last division dlc i remembered, wtf happened to the rest of NYC. What a blown opportunity that game was. Everyone expected they would at least finish manhattan (or even just central park, how the hell do you not include that), and at least do brooklyn since all of those were already modeled. Instead they gave us some easily designed underground areas and called it a day. What a waste of what could have been an awesome game

I just built a new computer last week (including a new GTX 1070 I purchased a few weeks back).  I contacted Newegg's customer service and although they said my purchase did not qualify for the promotion they still said they'd sent me a voucher code by e-mail within a day or two.  Great customer service.

I think I'll end up getting that Ghost Recon game.  Hadn't heard much about it until now, but it looks good.  And it's got a single player mode so that's cool (not too crazy about multiplayer-only games nowadays so I'm gonna pass on For Honor for right now).

The bros played The Secret World last night.  I had a lot of fun and reminded me of why I like the game so much to begin with.  Might restart with a new char since I'm not that deep into the game as is so I can get the story fresh again.

Except it doesn't really. The 1% just want you to believe that the benefits trickle down, but in truth, only they benefit.
